Nothing has been announced yet. If you want up-to-date info., join the Facebook group "Supporters of Leah Remini Scientology and the Aftermath" group. There is lots of interesting stuff going on in the anti-Scientology world!

Hiiii photobabe , I am already on their FB page. Oh and my sister who lives outside of TAMPA say Mike Render in her local Publix shopping. Is Mike as adorable in person as he is on screen? Sis said she saw Mike alone in one aisle shopping (oh mind you my Sis loves the show and EVERYTHING Mike and Leah are doing) and while she did not want to be one of these obnoxious followers she did approach him and in seconds all she said was "THANK YOU MIKE FOR EVERYTHING YOU AND LEAH DO" and she turned and left. He said "THANK YOU" .... and that was it!!!!!! Short, sweet and meaningful.

Yeah, I'm sad the show will be done, but I'm glad they aren't just leaving us hanging. I wish that every year, Leah would do an update special b/c it's more than just a show- she was/is doing important exposure work.

Here's an excerpt from Mike Rinders Blog: Now we must take this crusade to a whole new level where we are able to do what we know must be done to bring an end to scientology’s ability to hurt more good-hearted people. Without the chains which have constrained us, we are free to do what needs to be done and not have to wait for the wheels of bureaucracy to turn…Here a link to the entire post: Mike Rinder which isn't working . Here's the long form www.mikerindersblog.org/aftermath-announcement/

Here's a link to a great interview with Leah Rimini. It gives more of an explanation of why the schow ends with the special on the 26th and hints at what she and Mike Rinder will be doing in the future. Hollywood Reporter

REMINDER Everyone: TOMORROW.....MONDAY NIGHT FINAL EPISODE.
Scientology and the Aftermath's final episode, a two-hour special filmed in front of a live studio audience of former members, will focus on testimonials alleging that Scientology policies have hindered members
from reporting instances of sexual assault and physical violence to the authorities.
It is set to air Monday, Aug. 26.

Another great show. I hope these civil lawsuits result in law enforcement getting involved. There is speculation that Miscavage has followed the example of LRH and gone into hiding. I wish the court system wasn't so darn SLOW!

Leah Remini Inks First-Look Deal With Critical Content www.yahoo.com/entertainment/leah-remini-inks-first-look-203331756.htmlLeah Remini, creator, host and producer of A+E’s Emmy-winning docuseries Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath, has signed an exclusive first-look deal with independent content studio Critical Content to develop and produce unscripted programming through her No Seriously production company.
Under the pact with Critical Content, led by CEO Tom Forman and Studio President Jenny Daly, Remini will spearhead series across multiple genres that address subjects from advocacy and victims’ rights, to family and comedy.
The first project under the deal is Seeking Justice, an anthology docuseries which reunites Remini with her Aftermath partner Mike Rinder.
It will investigate, infiltrate, and hold accountable other groups and organizations that have for too long gotten away with physical, mental, and sexual abuse, including victims of Scientology.

HORRIBLE!!!!! The Church of Scientology released hundreds of balloons at the opening of a California church. Local officials want to make sure it never happens againwww.cnn.com/2020/02/26/us/scientology-balloons-plastic-ban-trnd/index.htmlI cannot believe there was not one adult who was in the planning stages of this event that KNEW THIS WAS NOT A GOOD IDEA. My Lord, it's been years NOW since we have known not to release balloons into the sky...........YEARS. At least 5-7 years.

Makes me sick every time I see any group do a balloon release. Just one more reason Scientology is evil.

They don't believe other humans or animals or the earth matter. They believe they will live on another planet? Or LRon or Xenu will give them a new earth? I don't remember . But they don't care about anyone else and even within their own group they don't care about each other.

That really would be something if John left the cult. I knew Scientology was against psychotherapy and taking any kinds of drugs to deal with depression and mental illness (Tom Cruise's tirade against Brooke Shield when she was taking meds for her postpartum depression) but I had no idea they were against chemotherapy. I'm glad John bucked them to get the treatment needed for Kelly. The article quotes a former member saying that Kelly was like a Stepford Wife and the driving force behind their involvement. That surprised me a lot b/c John was a member first and I guess I never thought it was as important to Kelly as it was to John. I hope he can find some closure and some peace.

It was fairly well documented that their son Jett was on the autism spectrum (among other things) and Scientology is pretty much against any and all treatment for autism and calls it a "myth." THAT would have been the point where I would have told the Scientology folks where they could shove their ideas. I remember reading an account from someone who saw the family out in a restaurant and recognized Jett's behavior as being on the spectrum (IIRC, they had a child on the spectrum as well, so they were familiar). When asked what kinds of treatments they'd been doing, JT said something about listening to lots of music or something.
If a grown adult wants to buy into all the Scientology nonsense, they can have at it (although I'm also free to think they're nuts!), but forcing it on your kids is a whole different thing.
I'm glad they sought medical treatment for Kelly and if that's what gets John to leave Scientology, then that's great. Still, he should have left when Scientology's policies affected his son's quality of life.
IMO, for Scientology to really crumble, it would take Tom Cruise leaving. Other celebs leaving is great, but I don't think any celebrity is as closely associated with Scientology as TC. Unfortunately, I think they're going to be carrying him out of that "religion" feet first. Pretty sure he's a lifer.

Having no facts at all .... do you feel that TC is way more vested in Scientology then hanging on to his marriages? Didn't Nicole and Katie leave him because of his devotion to Scientology? I mean that is pretty sick to choose that messed up cult over your wife and children that you love ......... .......... OR?

From what I've read over the years, Tom has risen through the ranks and is one of the highest-ranking officials in the organization. He's not just a devout follower, he's one of the 'church' leaders. And yes, Nicole and Katie left over it.

I'm putting this sad news here vs. the celeb gossip forum because I think most of the posters here who know Mike Rinder know him from this show.
Mike's wife recently posted to his Insta that Mike has just been diagnosed with advanced esophageal cancer. They don't seem to have much information yet (or they're not sharing it), but here's the post on Mike's blog about his situation: A New Challenge

I know. I was heartbroken when I heard the news. He's been put through so much since he left Scientology and has found happiness with Christy and success with Leah and their show/podcast. It seems a cruel twist of fate that he just can't be happy It does sound like they've got some really hi-tech treatment for him, based on genetic testing, but stage 4 is never the diagnosis you want. I worry about it being esophageal too, since he makes his living (or part of it anyway) with his voice.
