Peppermint - I much prefer to see Jennifer Garner in kick-ass roles like this instead of some sappy rom-com. I liked it.
Bullethead - never heard of it before it popped up on Netflix, but once I saw Adrien Brody and John Malkovich were in it, I had to watch. It wasn't bad, more of a character piece than an action movie.

Papillon ( the remake) This actually turned out great! Giving it a 8 because of the actors! Even though we had seen the original, it didn't ruin a thing for us..
Charlie Hunnam and the wonderful Rami Malek transform into the frail, yet unbeatable, Henri "Papillon" Charrier and his friend Louis Dega. ..☺

Operation Finale. I liked it overall though it got a bit draggy in spots. I did find the whole capture story fascinating. Made me want to learn more about it.

No good deed. I thought the movie was boring and should have probably been a lifetime movie instead of in theaters.

Went to see The Front Runner this weekend. I was not impressed! Hugh Jackman is too likable to have played Gary Hart. They talk in the movie about Hart being a womanizer, but Jackman plays him like a reluctant stiff who doesn’t want to be dragged to a party, and only talks to Donna rice because he can’t hear people talk with the loud music. It falls really flat. Yes I wanted to see it but the reviews were mediocre. I do love me both some HJ and I totally enjoy VF's work......but I will wait until it goes on Netflix. RT gave it like 53%.

I went to see Green Book today and really enjoyed it. The character development as the friendship grew between the two main characters was well done. Both actors were perfectly cast. Well done!

My folks and I saw Elf in the theater years ago and laughed ourselves silly. It's not officially Christmas until I've watched it at least 3 or 4 times.
I'm also one of the few people to see A Christmas Story in the theaters. It didn't do much at the box office, but REALLY caught on when it went to video. I remember my friend and I laughing hysterically at Randy showing mom how the little piggies eat I still watch it every year, but I don't laugh quite as hard now as I did at 16!

My family saw Elf on Christmas Eve in a theater right when it was released and we loved it. We have it on DVD and watch it every year, usually on Christmas Eve if its a quiet one.

Another Jean Shepherd movie is Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss. I laughed myself silly during one scene.

Yesterday I watched A Simple Favor. Different than what I expected, but I really enjoyed it. The soundtrack so fit the plot which took so many twists and turns......

Holiday movie alert - The Christmas Chronicles starring Kurt Russell as Santa Claus. It shares some of the same Christmas spirit sentiment as Elf and it was perfect for viewing on Christmas Eve eve.

Lavalantula starring Police Academy icon Steve Guttenberg. Michael Winslow(complete with sound effects) and Marion Ramsey from Police Academy were also in the movie. Volcanoes erupt in Los Angeles unleashing a swarm of huge lava breathing tarantula spiders.

The one that especially creeped me out was the Vincent Price version of The Fly. Now, that was scary along with the Pod People.

They make awful action/horror movies with knock off titles such as Atlantic Rim or Martianland. We have a patron at our library who LOVES these movies, but not for their awfulness but because he think they are great films. They aren't. In addition to awful special effects, they usually feature actors who haven't had much work lately

I went to see Vice today. It was very entertaining and I enjoyed it. I love the creative ways that Adam McKay finds to take complex elements of a story and tell them in a way that is entertaining and easier to understand. I do wish he hadn't spent so much time trying so hard to convince the audience everything was true. From a political standpoint, I think he fell short. But from an entertainment standpoint, he rocked it. The way most of the actors were able to transform into their characters was amazing. Christian Bale's ability to pick up even the most minute details of Cheney's persona was amazing!
