I think the three finalists are so strong. This should be a fun contest to watch! Anyone else watching?
They start out with intros and family. It's great to see the siblings and parents of these kids.
They start out with making appetizers - miso glazed black cod, a prawn/cuttlefish dish and pan seared snapper.
They all get good reviews on their dishes.

The entries come next:
Che - veal saltimbocca, morel & pea ragu
Ivy - Hanger steak, butternut squash batons and herb puree.
Malia - Filet Mignon, Fried shisedo peppers and daikon
Positives for all of them. Maybe Che impressed them the most?

Che is the winner! All three did great. I think maybe Malia might have finished stronger than Ivy and could've even won based on their responses to her dishes but Che's dishes as an entire meal had more continuity.

I thought they were all equal. Although Che's veal saltimbocca, morel & pea ragu was far more creative and difficult. He wasn't my favorite going in, but that won me over.
I also thought it could have been an hour and a half instead of two hours....I was getting tired of "it's awful........ly good!" kind of stuff from the judges.
I still can't get over Malia making soba noodles. Wow!

All the contestants were amazing young people, with personality galore. What a fun season! I looked a the Master Chef Junior summer camps on-line. They are pricey and are held at several places around the country, all at lovely boarding school settings. Various MC contestants make surprise appearances at the various camps.
