Hot and Spicy - The Top 17 remaining home cooks compete in a high-pressure mystery box challenge, inspired by special guest Alessandra Ambrosio, for a shot at immunity.
Enjoy the show!

I am SO glad they sent Evan home, the arrogant turd. He was way too full of himself and didn't want to listen to the chefs - not a good trait to have on this show. Bye!

Wasn't it amazing that he was so arrogant.
Fred is another one whom I hope goes home soon since his fearfulness is so off-putting.

I just finished watching the latest episode. Wow, Evan put himself at the bottom by his attitude of already knowing it all! I love watching the pastry challenges. I hardly ever eat desserts but love the idea of them and this tarte tatin challenge was really interesting to watch, especially when Gordon demonstrated his techniques. I think the toughest part would be flipping that cast iron pan over! Yikes! I also loved the Latin American cuisine's staple proteins/ceviche add-on challenge.

Yes, I found it all fascinating. I was wondering about the plate turnout as well; don't think I could do it. I'm confused about ceviche - is it a cold spicy vegetable with a raw protein?

Traditional ceviche recipes consists of raw seafood tossed with an acidic marinade (think: citrus juice or vinegar) that “cooks” the fish. From the Eating Well site. I haven't made it myself but have seen it prepared on lots of cooking shows.

I love that Evan was eliminated because he was a d$ck. Fred's tarte was much worse.

Wasn't it amazing that he was so arrogant. Fred is another one whom I hope goes home soon since his fearfulness is so off-putting. I find Fred's way of speaking REALLY distracting! I can't decide what he's doing, though; is he not moving his upper lip? is he not opening his mouth? (it seems like he might be "talking through his teeth") I just can't identify what is weird about his speech.
