I didn't know that Critical, I barely watched BB's.season, let alone know about his voters.Sadly, the show doesnt seem a very happy place anymore, the dancers, the pros, for the past two seasons have seemed like they are going through the motions.Or, maybe that's just me, out of habit.
I like to watch dancing, I always have, but DWTS has changed so much, I dont recognise it. I don't think Hannah is Hollywood elite, I really don't think that word suits anyone left.

It's time for Sean to go, but this is not new for DWTS. Over the seasons we've seen people stay long past when judges and some viewers thought they should be there. Too many seasons now to remember them all. I thought of Ty Murray and Jerry Springer from the early seasons. It seems like there have been several. I, for one, appreciate those who are learning a new skill and giving it their best. I have thrown votes at them in the past. Probably because I know I'd be in their dancing shoes and never would be one of the best, so I relate with them. Starting with the first few seasons there was controversy about the best dancers not winning. I voted for Kelly, Drew, and Emmett. Was it season five when Sabrina was an early boot? I did not like her and was neither shocked nor sad when she left. All that to say, this show has never been only about the dancing. I'm glad about that. I don't watch other dancing competitions. I don't even really care all that much when it's just the pros dancing. Their technical abilities often take away from some of the heart of the dancing that we see when the stars are learning. I have however inadvertently learned some about dancing over the years. I do think what happened last year was not great. I think that some people were voting for BB without watching, and some were probably voting for Sharna to finally get a win. I don't think what they've done this year is any way a fix for the voting. They've given more votes out than ever before. It used to be a set number, now it's 10 per. They've cut off over half of their voters. The only thing that could possibly help them is if the bad ones end up in the bottom two, which Sean hasn't done. I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case in other years when not great dancers were going deep into the competition. And, if that had happened in season five, they would have kept Sabrina and I wouldn't have liked that. We've had countless "shocking" eliminations over the years. I wonder if their changes include the judges having a bigger say in the winners. Again, I don't know that I consider that good. I'm pretty certain they would not have picked the first 3 winners. While I don't like that BB was a winner last year, I don't know what the fix(es) should be.

I still think that the judges should do the first few eliminations like they do on the singing shows and not have live voting happen until it's down to the final five or six couples. That way no truly crappy dancer would win based on popularity alone.
I think it would be a good thing to go several weeks with no eliminations so that the judges have a chance to see who is making major improvements each week. Some of the people at the top now--Ally, for example--didn't look so amazing in the first week or two, so I think it would be good to give people a couple of weeks to catch their stride before having any eliminations. But I don't think eliminations should be based on fan votes until later in the season.

It sullies the whole show to have someone as bad as him move forward over others. I’ll read here and watch YouTube for specific dances if this continues. I won’t watch the show. And you can bet I’ll pay closer attention to who they’re casting from now on. They shot themselves in the foot with this one. 😡 Maybe they could fix these kinds of messes if they allowed the judges one opportunity per season to overturn the votes and make their own decision as to who leaves. Sure, it's just a frivolous TV show, but I hate to see someone who is improving and has potential getting sent home in favor of some doofus who gets to stay for political or religious reasons, or just because too many people think it's funny to vote for the worst contestant.

I've watched James and Emma's dance back 3 times and can't find anything at all that looks like a slip or mis-step!

It's a TV show, so people get to vote for who they want to. I would venture to guess the majority of people vote for the best dancer. But some vote for the best story, which is a key reason they tell the stories leading into each dance. Some vote for their favorite person - and lets be honest, they cast some people with a loyal fanbase so that those loyal fans will follow to the show (and I know people can vote without watching the show - but many others tune in because of a person they are loyal to). Everyone can use their votes in any way they can.
