That's too bad about the Thai Chili Lime cashews. Maybe you can have the Coconut covered cashews? They are sweet, not spicy. Mmm. I'll have to check those out when I go tomorrow with my sister. I recommend the Organic Apple Sauce with Wild Berries. I also recommend the Black Bean & Corn Enchilada. I'll put those on my list, too, thanks! You certainly pointed me in the right direction with the cherries. Just watch out for packaged greens...another recall. Is that a new one today? I saw one yesterday saying to avoid wraps and salads with romaine in them. UGH!!!

Another recall? Ugh.
I might be going to TJ tomorrow and I hope to pick up the string cheese and a big bag of trail mix since my snacking options are limited.

Despite the fact that they discontinued the best tahini sauce I've ever had and frozen churros, I still shop there. The cinnamon rolls are vegan. Wooo!

OK, we went to Trader Joes today and here is some of the haul:
- Salted Pretzels with peanut butter inside - Honey Walnut Shrimp dish - Beef Broccoli dish - Kung Pao Chicken dish - Teriyaki Chicken dish - Acai Frozen Fruit for smoothies - Hemp Protein mix for smoothies - Berry Medley frozen berries for smoothies - Goat Cheese ravioli - A wine that has strawberry and rasberry in it - Trail Mix with dark chocolate, cashews, almonds and cranberries
We got some other items too, but these stick out in my mind. Instead of having white rice with the Asian dishes we will use either brown rice or quinoa. Can't wait to eat!

Yeah. Utah has weird liquor laws. The only thing you can buy in grocery stores is stuff like beer and hard lemonade type drinks, and those have lower alcohol content than in most other states.
For everything else, you have to go to a state-run liquor store. Unless you're in a big city, there is only one store per town (or maybe only one for several towns). I've lived places where I had to drive 15 or 20 minutes to buy a bottle of wine. It's crazy!

If you're a TJ's fan and don't know about Cooking With Trader Joe's, let me introduce you! I met one of the authors of the first cookbook at a trade show many years ago. She gave me a cookbook and a sample of some fabulous lentil salad. Now they have many more cookbooks and a website. They create recipes using products you can find at pretty much any TJ's. They're simple and every one I've tried has been delicious. I follow them on Facebook and this recipe showed up in my feed this week. I'm going to make it this week: www.cookingwithtraderjoes.com/pina-colada-freeze-dairy-free-soft-ice-cream/

Maybe I'll just go on over to that site and see if they've got something yummy for me.

They really do have some great ideas. Most of them are super simple and don't take a ton of ingredients. The lentil salad I tried was amazing - IIRC, it used their cooked lentils (possibly the Beluga ones), a vinaigrette and some diced veggies like celery and onion and maybe some tomatoes.
I have two or three of their cookbooks, but I think most, if not all, of the recipes are also on their website.

Picked up the 4 pack of Calamansi Coolers today. Very good and glad I took a second look at them after first thinking it said calamari coolers.

So there was all this stuff on the News recently about GOLDFISH being recalled or something like that about 2 weeks ago.
I asked my DIL about TJ's "BUNNIES" .... we decided to buy them as Stevie LOVESSSS GOLDFISH.
So I bought them and I thought they were horrible. As I had a few before giving her some. Just NO flavor at all.
I gave some to Stevie and she wanted nothing to do with them.
She opted for SALTINES.

Best flowers in town! Daffodils in the spring, potted or cut - perfect! Tulips that last a very long time.

I always buy my basil there each year. You get a bigger plant than at the garden center and it's around the same price, or less. I wish I could have flowers in my house, but have cats. I do like them for hostess gifts though and I love looking at the flowers section when I'm there!
So many of the products everyone is talking about are ones I've never bought. I realized I don't actually buy that many prepared foods there any more. I like the frozen Indian food and the Tarte D'Alsace, but most of what I buy is ingredients - lots of produce, some dairy and maybe some meats. Oh, and I love the gluten-free pretzels. Sometimes I buy the reduced guilt mac & cheese too as a "break glass in case of emergency"-type meal. I add their dried tart Montmorency cherries on the maple and brown sugar oatmeal for breakfast or a late night meal sometimes.
I've been staying away from TJ's lately because when I haven't been there in a while, I end up buying EVERYTHING I buy there and it costs a fortune!

Yeah. When I went with my sister, she was asking me what all of my favorite things were, and I realized that I don't usually get many of the prepared foods. It's mostly bags of precut ingredients--kale, mir poix, cut cauliflower rice, etc. Some frozen foods, but even those are mostly ingredients.
I used to get wonderful treats there, but since I went off dairy and gluten, I can't eat very much of the prepared stuff. I do enjoy a lot of their salads and "bowls." The Poke Bowl is really good.

I LOVE their bagged baby spinach. It lasts so much longer than the stuff from the grocery store and it's much cheaper. Their broccoli is great too. I generally load up on produce and then do a quick pass through the rest of the store for stuff like eggs (also much cheaper than the grocery store), cheese and yogurt. The last stop is frozen foods for turkey burgers and a few frozen meals. I also really like their flash frozen green beans.
I like the field fresh salad with chicken (I think that's what it's called), but I always add spinach to it. Their salads generally don't have enough greens for me. As soon as they inevitably get rid of that salad, I probably will be done with their prepared salads. The ones I've tried lately haven't been all that impressive and the ones I've liked get discontinued!
I like the sliced rotisserie chicken breast for salads and skillet meals. The chicken is just seasoned with salt and pepper and cooked with olive oil, so it works in any dish. Plus, it's not as fatty as the Just Chicken strips, which always seem to have a coating of fat on them. That's okay if you're cooking it, but not if you're using it cold in a salad. I can get probably 5 or 6 meals out of one package of chicken, so it's worth it to me. TJ's has great prices, but they're especially good if you're cooking for one. Maybe a family couldn't justify paying $6.99 ($5.99?) for that pack of chicken for probably one meal, but I get a bunch of meals out of it.

I'll have to check out the sliced rotisserie chicken breasts for when I'm in a hurry. In usually get the organic chicken breasts at Costco and cook up the entire thing then freeze it, but it's nice to have a backup.

Got to a Trader Joe's last weekend. It's a real treat for me since there isn't one in my whole state. I only get to go there when on vacation. My fellow travelers think I'm a bit off when I tell them that a visit to Trader Joe's has to be on the vacationing agenda. I wish I could get the frozen delicacies, refrigerated items & produce, but can only do that when staying at someone's house. I wasn't this time. I could only buy stuff that would travel well for hours & hours in a car. First off, I HAD to get my favorite: Trader Joe's Cold Brew Coffee Concentrate. It's great for making coffee, but the absolute best for smoothies. Another favorite is the Green Tea Infused Mints. I've also discovered (through my daughter) the Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo, Conditioner, and Body Wash. I found a few Coffee/Chocolate bars that are quite tasty, and some cookies called Coffee Toffee Shortbread with drizzled chocolate on them. I'm not all that impressed with them. Not nearly as good as the Half Dipped Cappuccino Shortbread cookies, but there were none of those there. I hope they weren't replaced by the Toffee ones. They don't compare. Another repeat treat is the Soft & Juicy dried Mandarins. VERY good. Bought a few other dried fruits to try too. Also tried TJ's Pumpernickel Pretzel Sticks. If you like pumpernickel, these are an excellent find. Just as good as I was hoping. Also bought a featured item: TJ's Carolina Gold Barbeque Sauce. Haven't tried it, but looking forward to. Last but not least, I bought a big bottle of TJ's Low Sodium Soy Sauce. Then I went to put it away & found I had 2 unopened bottles of other brands already. Looks like I won't be buying Soy Sauce for a while, at least I hope I don't.

I like their uncured peppered turkey bacon. I also like their butter and we love the cookie butter. I found their cauliflower rice was in a bigger bag and cheaper than Walamrt which is Birds Eye. Our TJ is about 30 minutes from me on the other side of Tulsa so I don't go often.

We're all anxiously waiting for one to open in the town next to me, but they keep bumping the date back. When it does open, I'll give it a week of two before going. I lived in Salt Lake when they opened the first one there, and it was wall-to-wall people for the first week or so. You could barely move. I still don't go there often. The store isn't so bad anymore but that parking lot is awful. Too small and close. I prefer the one in Fort Union

There are too many stores and restaurants using that parking lot at the downtown store, and parking can be a problem. I was initially concerned when I heard that the Orem TJs was going to be at the mall, but it's off to the side in a far corner of the parking lot, and there's plenty of parking. I've never had to park more than three or four cars in from the store side of the lot. Fun to talk to someone who actually knows the local Trader Joe's territory.
