I bought one of the gingerbread candles at TJ’s last night. I’m traveling for work and would love to burn it in my hotel room, but I’m not sure if I’d get in trouble! Plus, I don’t have a lighter or matches with me. I’ll have to wait until I get home. It’s going to be great in the kitchen! Gingerbread? Are they the same brand as the Honeycrisp Apple and Cedar ones?

LOL, just went to TJs and bought the Gingerbread candle AND the Lemon Ricotta wedge! I can't wait to try both. I think I'll try the Gingerbread candle after my Honeycrisp Apple one is finished because it's seasonal and save the Cedar ones for January.

Those candles have peaked my interest after reading all your posts. I was at Trader Joe's yesterday but didn't look at them. I was with Mr. C and he wasn't very excited about lingering and examining things so I didn't really look at that aisle. Dang. I plan to go again next week so will hopefully get some then. It's 70 miles from my house so I have to plan my purchases.
I loved this stuff (cheese or dessert) last year and found a recipe to try and make something similar this year. But in the meantime, I will enjoy this while they have it in stock! I ate it with GF crackers which worked for me. I sometimes just took a slice and popped it into my mouth, !
Just saw this in the new flyer and it definitely sounds like it may be worth a trip. I come to this thread and read all the time which is funny b/c we have a Trader Joe's in my town and I never, ever go. I do know they have nice greeting cards and very reasonable prices on cut flowers. I guess I don't have a very cultured palate b/c the only cuisines Mr. ECM and I eat are Chinese, Italian and basic American style. He's probably a bit fussier than I b/c I do like Mexican cuisine but he finds it too spicy. There just hasn't been much at TJs that I need to make a special trip for. However, I found that their vegetarian Italian sausage is way cheaper than our supermarket as are some of their vegetarian entrees so maybe I should start going there more often. The one thing holding me back is the parking situation. Their lot is always full. As far as candles go, Mr. ECM is intolerant of most scents...he hates fragrances of any kind and especially dislikes scented candles. We once were visiting a touristy candle shop and I guess I was taking too long browsing the aisles, b/c he walked right out of there, saying he couldn't breathe. He does occasionally buy me flowers but after a while he starts to complain that the smell is getting to him. Out of deference to him I don't buy scented candles but I liberally apply fragrance when I do wear it. And I DO mean liberally.

The nice thing about the Lemon Ricotta is you don't have to buy a full pound. We found a half-pound wedge and paid 5.00 for it. I think that's a reasonable price to pay for something you're trying for the first time.

Wish I'd read all of these posts about the lemon ricotta cheese before I went to TJ's today. They were giving out samples of some kind of cheese, and I skipped the sample table. Now I wish I'd been more curious.

Now I’m considering a trip (45 minutes each way) just to try the lemon ricotta. Is it with the other cheeses?

Cootie, we bought the Fig & Olive Crisps to go with the Lemon Ricotta; do you think that will be okay?

Just got back from buying lemon ricotta cheese and the gingerbread candle (and of course a couple of other things I couldn't resist).
I got a couple of the cheese wedges and some of the savory rice crackers. I figure I can take them to holiday parties as my contribution. Yum!
I thought I was going to have to ask for a sample of the cheese, but it turned out they were demoing it, so that worked out well.

You know what else is good? The dark chocolate covered strawberry chunks in the box with the mouse on the cover. There's also chocolate covered banana snacks by the same brand but I prefer the strawberry ones. They are in the frozen fruit section.

If so, I've had the banana ones, but I haven't tried the strawberry (didn't know they existed).

Oh my goodness. That Lemon Ricotta cheese is sooo good! We teamed it with Fig and Olive crisps and Gingerbread crisps and it was DIVINE! Such a creamy lemon taste, and the different crisps complemented it perfectly. I hope it's still at the store when we go back in a couple of weeks because I want to buy more.
Another thing we bought that I forgot to talk about was the Brut and Rosé champagne gummies they have there now. They're in the shape of bottles and actually taste like champagne! They're a fun novelty.

I went to Trader Joe's yesterday. We bought food for dinner, some lemon chicken cutlets, a salad and a cauliflower side dish that were great to eat on a cold December evening. Then we had a bit of the Baked Lemon Ricotta so my daughter could try it for the first time. She loved it! But the star of the shopping trip was the dessert Peppermint Flavored Hold The Cone!
From this review I guess they were in the stores in previous years but might be much improved acording to this review:
I was also able to get a Gingerbread scented candle - no Honeycrisp Apple in sight!
Kao I'm so glad you liked the Lemon Ricotta Cheese!

I'm burning the Gingerbread candle right now in my bedroom and I can smell it in the hallway, kitchen, and dining room (which is halfway thru my space, the bedroom is in the back). I have to say this candle is the highly scented of the two I've tried so far.

Stopped by TJs on the way back from Home Goods. Was looking forward to picking up some poinsettia plants, but theirs were not looking that great. I picked up a bunch of Tofurkey plant based deli packages. At $2.49/each, they are a bargain compared to our supermarkets. I normally get the Lightline ' turkey' but they do not carry that cold cut brand. I bought dark chocolate shortbread stars, and the lemon ricotta. I got multigrain and flaxseed crackers to pair with the cheese. Even at 5 pm on a Sunday, the place was mobbed. Their employees are always so nice though. The check out clerk told me he liked my poncho.😄

Have you tried the Candy Cane Joe Joes and Cream ice cream? I've tried the regular Candy Can Joe Joes. I also bought the chocolate covered Candy Can Joe Joes and the little ice cream cones that someone recommended, but I haven't eaten either of those yet. I'm sure they're amazing!

Have you tried the Candy Cane Joe Joes and Cream ice cream? I made myself not buy the Joe Joe cookies this time since I was getting the little peppermint ice cream cones. I never buy the ice cream products because I live 70 miles from the closest TJ's but that night I stayed at my daughter's place about 10 minutes away from the store. I imagine the the ice cream you mentioned is wonderful!

Their Golden Caramel Swirl ice cream (chocolate and vanilla ice cream with a big ribbon of caramel) is probably the best ice cream I've ever had. I've read several "best ice cream" lists and TJ's is often near the top of the list with national brands like Ben & Jerry's. That Golden Caramel Swirl is insanely good. I won't let myself buy it because I cannot stay out of it. The first time I got it, I took a taste and groaned because I didn't need to know THAT stuff existed!
I like cookies and cream, but the added peppermint from the Candy Cane Joe Joes kicks it up a notch. REALLY good.
