Don't forget that tomorrow is National Donut Day! Check your area for places giving out free donuts or having deals. Dunkin Donuts usually has a deal to get a donut free with the purchase of a beverage. Krispy Kreme is more generous and gives out a free donut of your choice, no other purchase necessary!

In my suburban neighborhood and all over the neighboring two counties, there are at least 3 or 4 Dunkin Donuts in each town, as well as Starbucks. Don't get me started on 7-11 stores...they are endemic around here! |

Yes Dunkin (they’ve dropped the Donuts) is ubiquitous in New England. I live in a very small town and we have three! 😄🍩🍩🍩

A World Series championship is always an excuse at work for a company-sponsored food festival. That was held yesterday and they outdid themselves with the Sox and baseball theme. (We were supposed to wear Sox gear but some came in Halloween costumes.) Tonight I skype with my siblings. I'm going to show off a box of Cracker Jacks I haven't opened yet from yesterday. I hope there's a great prize in it!

Tomorrow is the Greek food festival! This year I'm taking the day off from work so I can go at an off-time and beat the crowds. I'm sooo looking forward to having a frappe, tyropita, and getting an event t-shirt!

Today was Pancake Day at IHOP so I went before work to get a free short stack, eggs, bacon and milk. I gave a $5 donation to the Children's Miracle Network.

It's National Donut Day again! I went to Dunkin' Donuts before work to get a cocoa mocha iced latte and a double chocolate donut, plus a Boston Kreme donut.
At lunchtime, I went to Krispy Kreme and got my favorite donut, a chocolate iced kreme filled. I haven't eaten it yet. I'm going to see if I can be good and take it home to have tomorrow morning, or at least later tonight.

I'm going to see if I can be good and take it home to have tomorrow morning, or at least later tonight. I went to DD and ordered a small caramel iced latte and a plain donut stick. When she told me the total (I was at the drive-up window), she had charged me for the donut. I said isn't the donut free today? "Oh yes, she replied." I drive around to pay and now there is a male employee handing me my bag and he is quoting the wrong price too. Again I asked "Isn't the donut free, today?" "Oh yeah, I forgot," he said. Makes me think hmmm....how many unsuspecting patrons who did NOT know that today was a free donut day with beverage purchase, would have gotten stiffed? Maybe I'm an old grumpy, but geez, just do your job well! |

I had that happen at Starbucks yesterday. They were offering a $3 grande frappuccino after 3pm. Initially the girl taking my order charged me full price. I had to remind her of the offer. I do agree, Eastcoastmom, that a lot of places probably cheat their customers on purpose.

I love waffles! Thanks for the reminder about the holiday. I got an email from the Waffle House with a coupon for a free waffle. I need to remember to use that before it expires.
