Gordon Ramsay Masterclass - In the first skills test of the season, Gordon Ramsay teaches the home cooks how to properly break down a crab, before the contestants must replicate his work. The contestants whose skills don't cut it, face an elimination challenge during which Ramsay will show them how to make his signature Crab Benedict dish.
Some other Gordon Ramsey show premieres after this episode -- a thread can be opened for that in Other Reality Shows if desired.
Enjoy the show!

I can't believe Shamika was able to get through that crab challenge. She was shaking. I wonder if the contestants sign a waiver against getting sick. I guess they have to.

I dunno; I think the allergy might be in her head. There's no way she could dive into the aquarium to get the crab, "play" in it up to her elbows for that much time and show NO reaction at all. Seems an awful lot like built up drama to me!

I hate when they do crab!! I have a HUGE objection to sticking a living thing into boiling water! I was just as disgusted last season, when they all had to do (I think it was) lobster and they had to basically jab a sharp knife through its head! Gordon insisted it was humane "the most humane" way to kill them the whole time. Oh yeah? What if you don't get a perfect aim the first time and it's not dead when you start chopping it up alive! (No, I'm not a vegetarian or anything but I'm also NOT into cruelty!)

Tonight's episode was kind of meh. Nothing super exciting or surprising. The black light to find crab shells was ridiculous I thought the crab Benedict looked good and not super hard to make. If I ever have leftover crab meat from crab night (never gonna happen probably) I may try it! Also why was Olusola wearing her bus uniform every episode? I found that odd, I guess the producers thought we'd forget she was a bus driver even though it was mentioned all the time?

Neat to see the demonstrations by Chef Ramsey each week. This challenge seemed a bit unfair to the balcony folks. They did great at preparing the crab, but didn’t get to make the completed dish. Poor little Olusola was so focused on perfection, she forgot about the finished product & presentation. I just knew Gerron’s seasoning skill would save him.
I could do without the manufactured drama, but hey it’s a TV competition.

I love the demos Gordon does each episode. I've never heard of Crab Benedict, but it looked delicious.
I'm just amazed that so many of them had never poached an egg!

Gordon makes cooking look sooooo easy omg, i was just staring at him in awe. I'm happy Gerrod made it through I really like him, and think he has potential. I was Shocked to see Olusona go this early though especially since she got 3 aprons during the judges picks
