Derrick needs to either get a life or ask himself why he's so fascinated by transpeople he has to constantly comment about them in the first place. This is beginning to seem like a "hit dogs holler" scenario. I expect a scandal coming from that creep in the next few years.

It's not like transgender people did not exist before Jazz, back in my parents time it was just all so secretive. No internment/tv kept a lot of what went on on the QT. Science technology and acceptance have made kids like Jazz free to make these changes, the downside is it has becomes everyone's place to weigh in.

I don't have any strong feelings one way or another about Ahmir. He seems to be a rather nice, shy young man, but I feel wrongfully that Jazz is turning this budding friendship into something like a lifelong relationship. She's just too young, immature and inexperienced to be thinking along these lines. While I've always liked her and think she's physically beautiful, this past week she came off as quite bratty and disrespectful to her parents regarding moving out and being on her own. I was so glad the parents stood their ground and said they would NOT be supportive of her move, nor help her financially.
I've often wondered who has been paying for all the surgeries, transportation, hotel stays, food, etc. for her surgeries. Insurance may cover some, but not all. It appears more has been done and given to Jazs than her three siblings, for which she seems completely ungrateful.

Well I'm sure the money from the show pays for quite a bit. And the dad seems to have a good paying job as well.

I just started recording this because of recent commercials.
Hopefully Amir has a genuine interest in Jazz. It is hard for any one of us to innoculate ourselves against bad people. People just learn through experience. Hopefully Jazz's mom has told her to not look for validation from romantic interests.

I also think that there is a measure of spoiling there. She is 18 now, give her a few years and she will hopefully grow put of it.

I'm just glad everyone commenting in here so far has been respectful of her. Certain posters in the past seemed really fixated on her genitalia and breasts, and considering she was a young teen when this show started out (not to mention a human being) it completely creeped me out.

I haven't watched this show on a regularly basis, but this girl has gone through a lot in such a very young age and I think a lot of people expect a lot more maturity from her because of that. In the end she is still a kid, a teenager just like the one that I am dealing with on a daily basis who has melt downs at a drop of a hat and makes decisions out of her you know what. I certainly respect her for all that she has gone through and all the challenges she has faces and overcome along the way. She is amazingly strong for that. She is going to be gullible and probably be burned many times just like many teens do everyday unfortunately. I do hope this boy is genuine as well.

Moving out--Running before you walk. She could start consuming alcohol and drugs and not have enough focus to finish high school. She could get raped or physically hurt by random people she is assigning trust to. The show is providing money, and money is freedom. Jazz is going to have to think about how the ordinary person not on tv makes money.
Amir did not see that building was a beautiful piece of architecture....no appreciation of history. Perhaps when he gets older he will gain an appreciation of the work involved....Hopefully Amir is not an ass. He did look like a regular high school jerk pretending like Jazz's surgery was gross.

Such a lucky young lady; I wish her the best. I do wonder how her being at college will affect the show since much of the show focuses not only on her but her family as well, plus the fact she has completed her physical transition and there's nothing left of that story line.

Is she super smart? Asking because I don't watch the show & honestly don't know. There is an active minority recruitment program at Harvard (as at many other colleges and universities). The students who help with the recruiting don't reach out solely on SAT scores . . . it's a "whole person" review. Maybe the recruiters are fans of the show.

I don't watch the show either, but I do follow along. At my age, watching teenage angst is just not fun. She will be a big vocal addition to the LBGTQ community which will reflect well on Harvard. We are a very liberal state and I am sure she will fit in well. While they do look at the whole person, you still have to be smart to go to Harvard. She is well spoken and certainly self aware. What I think will do her in, as it does most west coasters, is the weather which gets cold in October and warm again in June.

Anyone watching? I saw that I had a couple of new episodes in my DVR so I gave a look when I didn't have anything else to watch. I feel for Jazz with her weight struggle and binge eating. She has had issues with that for years but I think Covid and quarantine probably made it worse. I appreciate her family...especially her brothers who are very supportive of her and trying to help her lose weight. But I can also see how the pressure would be too much.

I think the best thing for Jazz is to give up the show, have therapy, and then attend a small local college, at least for the first year or two. While the show brings in $$ to the family, it isn't worth the stress she is under. Harvard (or probably any school away from home) would be way too difficult for her to handle at the present time. I feel bad that the family, mostly mom, is so intent on Jazz attending Harvard. This adds additional stress on her. Binge eating is bad enough but the junk and fast food she is consuming is even worse. I don't understand why this isn't controlled better within the family. Jazz seems like a very unhappy and confused person, somewhat spoiled, but I sympathize with her for her future.

I can see this show being a recipe for disaster getting all this money to showcase Jazz's life. How will Jazz live without reality TV, without social media, without all the money she is currently getting. It is easy to foresee the number of people who will take advantage of Jazz because of the fame and money, and let's face it Jazz is being used a bit as the face of teens being transgender as being transgender is the current flavor of the month in 5 or 10 years when society has moved on to some other new sexual flavor how will Jazz handle life.

Quite frankly, I'm more worried about her getting murdered than being any "flavor of the month." The number of transwomen getting murdered in my city is horribly high because unfortunately people tend to hate what they don't understand and resent what creates feelings within but "isn't quite right" to them. It would be nice if society just moved on and let transpeople live their lives like everyone else in 10 years but I seriously doubt it; too many insecure men out here who genuinely take offense at these people breathing. My first experience with a transperson was at a market research job I had as a young adult and the number of grown ass men at the office who acted like she personally kicked their childhood puppies and went out of their way to subtly harass her was unreal; it made everyone uncomfortable and a few people actually got fired. She ended up quitting which was sad because she was a bright, funny person who minded her own business and did her job well.
