From reading that article, I was surprised about the career(s) he's had, and how TPTB say he was a restauranteur when he hasn't owned the burger stand since '85? Why couldn't they have just told the truth in what he does? There's no shame in it! Also, the "fat" comment disappointed me, but maybe he didn't truly say that or mean it the way she took it. Who did he say that to?

I think part of the reason people are so mad is that he seemed so perfect as "played on TV," and they are feeling misled. But I agree with you that we all have a past. No one is as perfect as the idealized version of themselves that they portray on a show like this. nennie, the "fat comment," refers to him allegedly telling "Carolyn" that he no longer wanted her to accompany him to his high school reunion "looking like that." She said she'd gained 10 lbs., and she believed that's what he was referring to when he said that. As for what he actually meant, we'll never know. Might have been fat shaming. Might have been something else.

MissGriss - the "fat" comment just didn't ring true to me, especially since, based on pictures, it looked like his late wife wasn't tiny (not obese, but not tiny like Theresa or Leslie) and his daughters and granddaughters are bigger ladies, or at least not skinny.

His daughter and granddaughters are not small people, by any means...
