On Wednesday night's show, the dr saw three patients 1. A lady who had a 3 pound fat mass on the back of her neck. Dr. made a "large" incision and pulled the whole thing out. I was surprised to see that done under a local. 2. A man who has cancer running through his family goes to the doctor to have two masses removed from his forehead area. One is an old cyst; and I am not sure what the other questionable one was. 3. A girl has growth growing from where her ear piercings are. The doctor removes the growths.

Wasn't there another patient on this episode? A man who had numerous 'boils' (I can't remember the medical term she called it) all over his body that were filled with all kind of pus? OMG, I gagged and had to turn it off.
The young woman with the ear keloids surprised me as I thought keloids were basically scar tissue within the body. My sister had to give up on pierced ears b/c she developed keloids. But they were not those huge knobby things hanging off her ears...they were just bumps inside. She had to have it surgically removed.
I will NOT be watching this show. It really is gag-inducing.

I really couldn't get past the name of the show and commercials show huge masses being popped.

I watched and enjoyed it, but then again, I'm used to her Youtube channel. She helps a lot of people, and I'm glad that TLC has paid for them to get help for their conditions (and even tested in some cases) that in most cases they wouldn't otherwise be able to afford.
That said, it's not a show for everyone.

Yep, "gag-inducing" sums it up for me I couldn't even get through a commercials. Blech.
What I want to know is why do these people wait SO long to get this stuff looked at? Why wait until you look like Quasimodo to get that thing on your back taken care of?

The mother of the young woman with the ear keloids was saying how her daughter had basically become a hermit b/c she was so self-conscious about it. I didn't know what the issue was with this family. Was it because they did not have health insurance? I just cannot imagine living with a condition like that for 4 + years. It looked so painful. She had such difficulty sleeping. I turned it off b/c the show was turning my stomach, but I do hope her keloids do not grow back.

A lot of people don't have health insurance, or they're working jobs that don't offer it/don't work enough hours to cover it/etc. In addition, a lot of insurance companies consider things like keloids, fatty lipomas (like the one on that ladies neck) and the boil situation of that other young man as being "cosmetic" conditions and won't cover it. Dr. Pimple Popper posted on her FB page around 4 months ago that she was filming a new series and that TLC would pay for transportation, hotel, and the medical bill for those that had certain conditions that would agree to be on her show. Her youtube page is EXTREMELY popular and she has a thriving practice, and I imagine that some of her fans have conditions that fit the bill and they took advantage of the opportunity.
I hate on TLC for a lot of things, but them paying for people to get help that may not otherwise be able to get it isn't one of them.

I fell asleep last night; and I am rewatching it.
Yes. There is a young man with cystic type of acne all over his body (________systoma). The removal seems like a temporary fix. I wonder if medicine (antibiotics) would be helpful to stop that.
Ear tumor lady--the keloids shot out of both ends of the holes; and she said they they throb constantly
I wonder if the keloids will stay a way.

I was surprised to see that done under a local. I had one of these on the side of my neck just under my chin. They only used a local. It is basically just a chunk of fat so they only need to deaden where they cut. Mine wasn't 3 pounds, though. Eek

I watched the first ten minutes of this last night...and then I was done. That thing on the guy's knee filled up the whole tray with goo after she cut it open. Ugh, no. Not my thing.

A lot of times, it is a show for your ears. I stopped watching about the same time last night; the same time I stopped watching last week. Too much to absorb for the time of night.
July 18th, 2018 Dr. Sandra Lee (Pimple Popper) took care of 4 patients 1. Man with large knee cyst--He had the cyst since the age of 12. In recent years the cyst has grown tremendously, and is quite painful when he accidentally hits it on things. The doctor determined it was a regular cyst. It was a cottage cheese large gusher filling up an entire tray. The man came back a month later. He said that it was draining all kinds of blood and stuff for the first two weeks after removal. He is very happy now. 2. A woman with a skin disease that she has had since age 8. They showed the woman's step mom and father. The step mom was whincing out of non information. The father acknowledged that he knew how painful the disease had been throughout her life. Dr. Sandra Lee Pimple Popper said that there are connected channels between these skin lesions. Squishing one eruption pushes stuff back up to other cystic areas. Treatment involved steroid shots that would relieve pain. Dr. Pimple Popper gave the woman these shots and phone numbers of other patients with the same condition for emotional support. The lady said that the steroid shots reduced the pain a lot. 3. A woman with a neck lipoma with a name--a plastic surgeon had previously removed the lipoma but it came back. Dr. Pimple Popper pulled chunks of the fatty tumor out, but was unable to get to the whole tumor as it was wrapped into neck nerves and other things. This lipoma definitely had a more rope-like element than the lipoma removed last week. 4. A lady with a large cyst in her eyelashes--Dr. Pimple Popper mentioned problems that could result if the cyst was removed incorrectly. She cut off the cyst; and the patient looked beautiful after the removal. Prior to the removal she was avoiding eye contact from embarrassment out of the way she looked.
4 patients an episode; Dr Pimple Popper is putting in the work. She impressively removes and stitches skin.
Next week: Dr. Pimple Popper explains the dangers of the "triangle of death" (nose area between the eyes and upper lip area).

I felt so relieved when all the cottage cheesy goodness gushed out of that patient's leg! I'm kinda gross, but I like stuff like this. I'm also glad she was able to do something for the lady with the skin disease. It must be terrible to have oozing wounds that also stink. The Doctor tried her best with the lady with the neck lipoma but somehow parts of it was wrapped around a neck artery? Anyway, she felt like it would be better if the rest was removed by a surgeon who had extensive knowledge of neck anatomy, and at least it looked a lot better. As for the last lady, well...that was the biggest milla I've ever seen! Looking forward to next week!

Last night Dr. Pimple Popper Sandra Lee saw 4 patients 1. A young thin woman with an orange sized cyst above her boob (a third boob). Dr. Lee was concerned about the patients reaction during extraction. She was afraid she would faint or want to quit. Patients was very satisfied with results. 2. A personal trainer with a dried up cyst bigger than an inch when extracted. He was so happy. He gained more clients afterwards. 3. A lady with fat accumulations on just one side of her body. Dr. Lee wanted to research why this was happening. She did not know; and had not seen such a thing. She vacuumed fat out of the big leg; encouraged her to watch her weight and exercise; and wanted to remain watching her. 4. A man with an orange sized cyst on his upper back.
Each episode, I am impressed by Dr. Sandra Lee's kindness and skill. Bravo!

That guy with the cyst between his eyes looked amazing after she finished with him. When she squeezed all the creamy goodness out I was in pimple popping heaven! LOL
I felt so badly for the lady with the fat on just one side of her body. Dr. Lee said that diet and exercise might help, but if the fat came back to that side of the body after lipo she might be stuck with that. I wonder what causes such a thing?

I thought he was pretty good looking even with the cyst. At first I thought the woman with the big leg might have elephantiasis as I have seen that on other shows. But that is lymphatic, this was fat.

What I like about Dr Lee is her bedside manner. She always explains what she is doing to the patient as she is doing it, and that cuts down a lot on fear. She also makes sure that they are comfortable. It doesn't surprise me that people come from all over to be treated by her.

I can't watch this show (my stomach isn't strong enough), but could it be lipedema? It sounds like similar symptoms, but then wouldn't the doctor know about that?

It was lymphodema like.....but really was fat. I think lymphodema is fluid.

I'm talking about Lipedema. It's fat, not lymph.

She conferred with some other derms who had more experience with this sort of things and had the patient do a CT scan, and the final diagnosis was "Idiopathic" and a Latin term that basically translated to "fat of unknown origin." That's a term doctors come up with when they can't tell why something is happening, lol. Normally when the body over makes cells like this it's usually cancerous, but this was just fat.

That's why I was thinking it might be lipedema: Whatever it is, I'm sure it's really upsetting for the patient. Whatever condition you have, you want the doctor to know exactly what it is and for it to be super common and easily treatable. It's great to be unique everywhere else, but in that case, it's better to be run-of-the-mill!

Last night didn't have any fun pops, only sadness. The lady and her brother with all the growths all over their bodies really made me sad. I was glad Dr. Lee was able to do something for her face, no matter how small. The man with the bump on his shoulder ws a trouper, especially when Dr. Lee thought that the bump was a limpoma and it turned out to be a cyst which gushed out like raw egg when she cut into it. I like my oozes to be like toothpaste, not...whatever that was. Gross. Anyway, she got the whole sac out so it won't grow back again. The third guy was a father who saw the Dr. with his two daughters. He had a growth on the back of his neck. His daughters were obviously fans of Dr Lee's Youtube page because not only did they watch the entire extraction, they picked up the removed tissue and took pictures with it, lol. Next week looks interesting.
