I am glad she could help the sister with the hereditary growths. The brother was so happy his sister was happy. He wanted to see Dr. Lee. I hope she can see him.

This week was all about the lipomas (which aren't my favs, I like the oozy pops). Cue the following:
- An older lady with one on the back of her neck. I started late so I didn't see her portion, but I did see her at the end of the show, and she was happy about the increase in mobility in her neck and how it looked, so I was happy for her.
- A young lady with a huge, unsightly one stuck in her armpit. Not only did Dr Lee remove a lot of tissue, she also cauterized a great deal of it as well so it melted. The end result was very smooth, and she was happy because she could fit into wedding dresses without the flesh hanging out.
- A DIY-er young man who actually removed one of his lipomas with an exacto blade and no numbing. Dr. Lee was absolutely horrified at this, and said that even though she makes it look easy on YouTube one of her greatest fears is someone thinking "I can do this myself!" and hurting themselves as a result. Apparently the area where he cut the growth out had a major artery nearby; he was very lucky. Dr Lee removed 3 more growths from him and made him promise not to do that again.
- A lady with a lot of moles on her chest and back. The doctor removed some of them with a special pair of scissors, and the flat ones she burned off using a special lazor made for those types of growths. A month latewr she looked good, and was able to wear low-cut shirts without being embarrassed.
I want to see her remove some Pore of Winers on this show; they're my absolute favs and I'm so relieved when she gets those out!

This week * Dr. Lee removed a large cyst from the back of a retired bus driver's neck. The lady had said that the cyst hurt and she needed help with everything. You could see the stress upon her face upon examination. After the removal, happy happy happy. * Dr Lee lasered and snipped s k (not moles because moles are made up of melanin which can turn into cancer; these are typical skin tags) s off an elderly lady's neck and back. The lady's back was covered in them. * A crazy young man had made a video of himself removing a lipoma. Dr. Lee removed three of his other ones to reduce medical risk from him doing it again. * Dr. Lee removed fatty stuff (perhaps breast tissue) from a hernia from from of the under arm area caused when the patient had been lactating. Multiple doctors told her it was not cancer; that sometimes happened to breast feeding mothers--third boob pocketing from related migration of breast milk or stuff.
I was most interested in the lady covered in moles (not really moles). My mother who is in her 70s all of sudden is covered in those. I guess I someday will be too.
I was very happy for the bus driver.
I give gross and shocking points to the young man who had done self surgery. Obviously he might have an interest in medical things. His analysis skills are lacking; he would pose a danger to anyone who would rely on him for medical treatment. I am sure they would not let him treat people....the thing he seems he might have an interest in doing.

I didn't know it was breast tissue in a hernia under that woman's arm. That sounds terrible and I wonder how often that happens? I have NEVER seen that happen with breast feeding mothers before.

I was traveling last week and at a hotel alone channel-surfing when I stumbled across this show. WUT!
I watched the episode with the brother & sister covered in warty growths (so sad), the man with his daughters & the guy with the big oatmeal egg on his shoulder. Cannot believe this is a TV show! BUT, I knew Youtube videos of this stuff are super-popular so good job TLC for airing this show and paying for people's travel & medical bills.
Love Dr. Lee, she has such a great bedside manner with the patients. She has such a nice way of chatting them up and making them comfortable.
Kao, what is a "Pore of Winer"??? I'm scared to google it!

Cornholio, basically a Pore of Winer is a giant blackhead that has embedded itself into the skin. You generally have to cut and dig to get them out because they're solid and hard and black on the exposed part, and hard and white inside. They're kinda like plugs? Dr. Lee has great videos on YouTube removing them.

Jimmy Kimmel announced that Dr. Pimple Popper will be on his show sometime this week - 8/14-8/16. I can't bring myself to watch it, but I have a couple of small "fat tumors" on my right arm, and one on the back of my neck. Every doctor I've pointed them out to poo-poo them so, as long as they don't bother me, they are me.

Note: Last week was the season finale, but Dr. Lee will have one more show on Wednesday specializing in smaller pops. Hurray!
This week had a bunch of...weirdness. Cue the following:
- A young woman who had what she thought was a limpoma at the top of the crack of her behind. She said that she had the growth removed once and it grew back. Dr. Lee was suspicious of this, and asked for more tests. Turns out she had something wrong with her spine that resulted in the growth, and she was very lucky to be walking. Dr. Lee couldn't remove the growth due to the spine issue, but she could remove the fat that made her backside look unseemly, and the lady was quite pleased with the result.
- A man that had a lipoma on his side. Dr. Lee was able to remove it, and he was happy.
- A young woman who had stretched out the holes in her ears using plugs and just wanted them to look normal again. Dr. Lee cut the stretched out area out, then stitched the remaining area together. The end result was very nice and the patient was quite pleased.
Dr. Pimple Popper has already been renewed for 2019!

Yay for the renewal!
I felt bad for the woman who had the spinal related lipoma. It sounded scarey.
The fatless thin man who had the side boob was interesting. I am glad he got the peace of mind from its removal.
And the ear gauge removal lady--excellent!

This week's episode was a rerun (the girl with the HUGE growth on her neck, the guy with the big bump on his forehead) but inbetween clients they showed some of her highly rated YouTube pops. The first one was a cyst that was filled with dried skin that oozed out marvelously, and Dr. Lee explained that because people have different levels of melanin in their skin the ooze can be yellow or darker depending on the person's skin tone. The second one was my beloved Pore of Winers! They showed my absolute favorite youtube video of Dr. Lee removing two huge ones that had been growing for years on this guy's back. The first one was black and like a rock embedded in the skin; she had to dig it out in one piece and it was hard. The second one was softer, but she still had to cut across the bump and squeeze and dig but it ultimately came out, and it was satisfying to see that piece mostly come out whole. As dramatic as the bigger lump removals are I prefer the smaller pops.

Pops during the Christmas season? Yes!
Dr Pimple Popper returns with a holiday special "The Twelve Pops of Christmas" this Thursday at 8pm Central time on TLC!

What a wonderful standalone show. TLC paid for 12 people to see Dr. Lee the day before the office closes for the holidays...and what a rich variety of pops she got! Everything from huge keloids dangling from the ears, to skin tags to limponas, to the pimples with the oil in them, and several other kinds besides. My favorite was the grandmother bought in by her grandson who had an absolutely luscious Pore of Winer on the side of her face that hadn't been squeezed since 1977.
Dr Lee is such a lovely person, and what she does, no matter how minor makes such a difference in people's lives. Many of her patients said that all they wanted for Christmas was to have their skin issues taken care of and cried when they saw the result. In addition to that, the who staff loves her and she seems like a great boss to work for; at the end of the show she gave out stockings full of things for everyone on her staff, plus she had her mom make a bunch of food for the holiday party. As strange as it sounds, this was very much a heartwarming holiday show.

On a side note, I recently saw an episode of Shark tank that involved a person selling something that was sorta like a simulation of popping pimples complete with a gooey substance that came out of it and also a refill of the substance. I was wondering along with the sharks why someone would want to buy something like this, and then the seller said how much money it has made so far( a whole lot). It is supposed to help with stress.
A ex of mine was fascinated with popping people's pimples, blackheads, etc for some reason. She would sometimes start to pop a pimple of mine without even asking, which could be rather annoying. lol
I also saw a commercial that sold fake pimples to put on your face. So maybe pimples are starting to get popular now, I'm not sure.

Judging by the hundreds of thousands of people who subscribe to Dr. Pimple Poppers Youtube page there has always been people around who like popping/like to watch popping/enjoy the grossness, the internet just makes that sort of material easier to find. Earwax plug removal and botfly removal are also extremely popular. I think part of it is the satisfaction you get when the gunk is removed, lol.
The new season of Dr. Pimple Popper starts on 1/3/19 and if the sneak peek is any indication she's going to be taking on some serious disfigurations. I felt really bad for some of those people, and I'm glad that this show is giving Dr. Lee the opportunity to help even more people.

I came upon this today and three hours later I don't think I've moved. Dr. Lee is wonderful and it's awesome to see how these people are being helped. I had this white bump under my eye that had been growing over the past few years, I thought it was a whitehead that just wouldn't pop but after trying anything and everything, finally decided to go to a dermatologist to see what it was. It was Milia. I always felt embarrassed by it as I thought it was very noticeable and very close to my eye so I was worried. 10 minutes in the doctors office it was removed and no scar after a week of healing. Although my "issue" was tame in comparison to the people on the show, I can certainly relate to the confidence you get back when something is removed that bothered you for so long.

Yay Realitychick for getting something like that taken care of quickly. In my 20s I had several rolly moles pop up on my neck. I removed those myself. And they did not come back. I am 52. I notice 2 little moles emerging from my face this past year. One in the eyelid skin. They are not big enough to be called moles. I hope they just freeze frame.
MEDICAL SHOW THIS WEEK 1. Lady with 60 lipomas from hereditary condition on her arms removed--she felt great and free afterwards. Hooray!!! 2. Man with big growth on the nose related to rosacia removed. It looked mildly better afterwards. The doctor said his nose was still swollen from the numbing. Weeks later they showed him, and it looked entirely normal. 3. Man with psoriasis on 70% of his body and dried big cyst on his head. This one was entirely interesting. I have heard about psoriasis but never seen it or heard it explained before. First they removed the cyst. He had had topical cream treatment for the psoriasis, but no meds before. Dr. Lee prescribed injectible meds once a week, and she demonstrated how he would inject himself. She explained that the body was attacking itself; and because of the injectible meds, the patient would have to be aware when he had any sicknesses. The meds works by reducing the immune response of the body attack itself. Six weeks later--almost no evidence of the psoriasis. normal skin. AMAZING!!! (exclamation points!)

Last night was very interesting!
- A man who had a tumor along one side of his body and several growths both on top and below the skin. Dr. Lee expressed regret that she couldn't remove all of his growths, but she could remove the ones that were causing him pain. Some of the excised growths were sent to a lab where it was determined that they were benign, much to the happiness of the man (who was worried about the outcome). Overall, he was very happy that the painful growths were removed, and felt a lot better.
- A young lady who had a large growth between her neck and shoulder area that started when she was 10 and grew in size. Constant teasing and harassment caused her to drop out of HS school, and she was afraid of going after the dancing career she really wanted because of it. Dr. Lee originally thought it was a limpoma, but after she cut into the mass and liquid squirted out realized it was a cyst. So she continued to squeeze and all the creamy goodness came out; it was the consistency of grits. Her shoulder line and neck looked so much better afterwards, and she was very glad she visited Dr. Lee even if she was scared at first.
- An elegant looking older woman had what she thought were hundreds of moles on her neck, chest, and back. She said that she got more of them with age and wanted to find a solution. Dr. Lee discovered that they weren't moles, it was those flat growths that look like moles. The treatment was some sort of freezing solution (which would cause the growths to get darker and then peel off) but warned her that the extreme cold of the solution might limit how many growths she could remove. Well, either she had an extremely high pain threshold or she was that determined to get rid of them I don't know, but she sat there in the chair not complaining while the Dr. removed 307 growths- a personal best for her. After the growths peeled off she looked marvelous and was glad she did the procedure.
- Another young lady with 3 bumps on her head, the biggest in front. Dr. Lee explained that skin flakes were shedding into the sacs in the bumps causing them to get bigger. It was a simple procedure; the Dr. made cuts on top of the bumps and simply popped them out like grapes, sacs and all. The young lady was extremely happy.

Last night's show broke my heart. That poor gentleman with the skin condition. I can't believe no one was able to tell him how to treat it and it had to get so bad. Did he not see a doctor? He had to have at the VA. Makes you wonder about the level of care we are giving our veterans. HE was so kind and polite, I was happy he at least found some kind of relief for it.

Mostly happy endings on Dr. Pimple Popper--very satisfying
70 year old Veteran with extremely crusty skin he attributed to agent orange exposure--Dr. Pimple Popper said that it was possible, but the skin problems could be related to other health issues. She had the man's son give him a moisture wrap every day (put petroleum jelly on his legs and feet). When he came back, the skin was almost normal. He still had thick thick discolored old man toe nails. He danced around the room with Dr. Lee.
Mexican woman with 4 or 5 inch pilor cyst behind her ear--I really felt for the woman; and I know how scary it was for her when they were extracting it.....the magic happens. She is so relieved it is gone. Weeks later they show she has had her hair done because she is a new woman.
Man with 7 or 8 inch fatty tumor located on his back near one of his arms. Magic happens. It is gone. The sun shines.

Finally saw this week's episode. Rarely have I watched this show and closed my eyes, but this one got to me. I get dry, flaky skin on my feet if I don't take care of them...but nothing like the vet on this episode because I was horrified (I hate feet under even normal circumstances and his were particularly horrifying) but felt bad because he was so nice, and his son was so caring. I was really glad Dr. Lee thought to have him use a petroleum jelly salve on his arms, leg, and face because the difference was like night and day. Petroleum jelly is like an old school remedy for extremely dry skin that actually works, and for him it was like a miracle cure. His arms looked almost normal, his face looked better, and his feet looked a lot better as well. I'm with libgirl in wondering why no one at the VA was able to help him there.
The lady with the cyst: I really felt for her because that was terrible, and behind the ears is such a delicate area. Dr. Lee was able to remove it and it really changed her life. That's why I like this show; the relief and happiness of her patients after they get treated by her is immediate.
After the two patients before, the last patient was old hat with only a fatty tumor on his side. The good doc removed it, and gave him piece of mind.

He is an ER doctor so maybe he wouldn't see a case like this. Would the gentleman have gone to a dermatologist or a GP? Wouldn't a GP look at it and say what the heck is this and send him to a specialist? I've been sent to a specialist for less.

It's possible that he was too embarrassed to bring it up. Either way, the doctor should have at least asked him; if he were diabetic all those open cracks in his arms and feet could easily get infected.

Bump city this past week
* Young mom with non heredity little tumor bumps that were related to hair follicles. Dr. Sandra Lee identified what the bumps were, removed and laserred some of them so they were not as noticeable
* Big old lipoma in the middle of 30 year old fit man's back. It is amazing how big those things are when she takes them out. She had quite a grabbing and pulling session to get it off the man's spine.

And third case--a young woman who had a stiff appendage (a weaner) sticking out of her lower booty area. It originally appeared when she was pregnant with her daughter. Upon removal, it did not have the look of a lipoma. Dr. Lee speculated that is was butt fat that herniated outward.
Afterwards, Dr. Sandra Lee twirked her own booty for her office staff. I think she is in her 50s....she is very kind and fun.

This week * Man with hardish quarter sized pylor cyst in the lower front forehead area. His wife had taken her diabetic needle and tried to drain it with nothing coming out. He said she jabbed it.......The description of the wife's efforts made it for me. * Man with advanced rosacia on his nose that makes the nose expand out, and turn a whole different texture. This is the second patient Dr. Lee has done on the show with this disease. It is amazing. I do not understand it. It looks like she is pulling off skin with her laser. Weeks later, you would not know that she removed any skin. * Two cysters (word play; two unrelated women with cysts on their wrists) who had identical wrists cysts see Dr. Lee. She explains that they will probably have to see a surgeon due to internal wrist structures; but she would needle drain the cysts for them. They were happy. The cyst returned the next day on one; and the next week on the other woman. But they were both happy and sounded like they preferred to live with their cysts than see a surgeon.

The case of the man with the advanced rosacia was absolutely fascinating; he looked like WC Fields on steroids, and you could see that the growths prevented him from breathing through the nose properly. I felt so bad for him when he said he started to stay away from his grandkids because they were afraid of him. The procedure that Dr. Lee used on him was fascinating. She was carving a regular nose for him out of the growths as cleanly as she would have cut a bar of soap, and in a few weeks his nose looked completely normal, with no hint of the trauma or carving. One thing he should have done to make his life easier would have been to talk to his doctor initially about temporarily stopping the blood thinner instead of cutting his dosage in half, because she could not do the full procedure on him and he had too come back.
I loved the "sisters" with the twin cysts and was sad they came back in such a short period of time. I believe Dr. Lee said they would have to go to a bone/joint doctor to have the cysts permanently removed because of their location.

Last week's episode was very interesting.
- A woman with a literal "horn" sticking out the back of her head. She has had it for a while and was very ashamed of it. Dr Lee removed it, plus took some cells from the scalp near the area to test for cancer. A few weeks later, she called the patient in for the post-op. The area was healing nicely, plus it was cancer-free! The woman was quite happy.
- A man with a huge bump in the middle of his chest, who said he hated it because his children noticed it when he tried to hold them before they went to sleep. Dr. Lee wasn't quite sure what it was but wanted to cut into it to find out. The bump turned out to be a giant cyst that oozed out dark, dry skin that was trapped inside. Fun fact: the amount of melanin in your skin determines what color the cyst contents are since they are made up of shedded skin. He was very happy with the results, saying he can now hold his children without the bump being there.
- A man who had a huge, Popeye style growth on one of his forearms. His partner said people would comment about it all the time, which didn't make him feel great. Dr. Lee said while she was sure it was a lipoma she's seen cysts get that big as well. It turned out to be some sort of special lipoma that couldn't be pulled out in one piece; she had to get it out piecemeal AND get every piece in order for it not to grow back. She was successful, and he was very pleased with the result.
- Two teen brothers who both had bumps on their sides. Something else grabbed my attention when they were on; can someone tell me if they were lipomas or cysts? Thank you!
