I'm loving this first Live show. NO PRO dancers. It really is a throwback with a caveat in that each couple dances first in one of their styles, then second in the other style.
They are all doing so well.
Oh, and tWitch is on the judging panel...hints he might be there the remainder of the season.

Loved that opening number. Travis has grown so much as a choreographer. Very sad to hear he and his fiance have split. I enjoyed Jensen and Jay Jay's first routine a lot, but did they not do a camera test on that hot pink costume? It looked horrible in ultra HD. Just a blur. Like the camera couldn't handle the color intensity. It also made Jay Jay fade into the background because her costume was SO overwhelmingly bright. LOVE Hannalei and Cole, but their Contemporary routine was definitely better. Unfortunately, she looked like a Contemporary dancer in that Paso Doble. Just not sharp enough and a bit ponderous at times. I thought the weakest pair was Evan and Chelsea. They each only seemed to excel in their own styles and sisn't have natural chemistry. Slavik and Genessey were a surprise. I was also impressed with Magda and Darius. I think Chelsea might be the first girl to go home. As for the guys, I don't know. I thought they were all terrific (although Slavik needs to work on pointing those toes!). Maybe Darius? He and Jay Jay are the most similar of the boys - both African American, male Contemporary dancers paired with ballroom girls, but Jensen has a bigger fan base than Magda and I thought Jay Jay was just better tonight. I wish we had a few weeks of routines before the first elimination.

Critical, I'm with you on the weakest pair.
Slavik was a huge surprise for me. I think he did the best out of the guys especially since choreography doesn't come easy to him.

I adored Slavik and Genessey. Before last night's performances Darius was my favorite, but Slavik easily took the lead for me. Loved the first dance and the second was even better. Kudos to the choreographer.

I loved them all. If it wasn't quite right in one dance, they made it up in another. How hard was it for Chelsea to learn tap, and be beside a wonderfully natural tapper like Evan. I loved Cole and Darius since auditions, and I still do. I couldn't vote, and I'm glad it's out if my hands. Well done to them all.

Critical, I think you're probably right on the first girl to go home, and sadly, it's probably just luck of the draw that's sending her there. It really put Chelsea at a huge disadvantage having to learn tap and tap next to someone so accomplished in the style. Tap at that level is just DARN HARD! Poor thing, I felt really bad for her.
As for the guys...wow. I think Evan and Slavik are safe. Both are very memorable, made a good impression and danced both styles well. Cole was very good in Hannahlei's style, but I wonder if their Paso didn't pull him off of people's radar for voting. It was more Hannahlei's problems with the dance that hurt them than his, but the whole thing just felt very heavy (not in a good way) and labored. I guess I'm thinking first guy home will be Cole or maybe Darius...I just don't know.
