Battle of the Beef / The Semi Final - The Top Five home cooks face a series of pressure-filled skills tests using an incredibly common protein—beef. The judges will decide which contestant will claim a safe spot on the balcony and who will face another culinary test.
Then, the final four are split into two teams, and will need to cook one incredible entrée for the judges' mentors, chefs Daniel Boulud, Jonathan Waxman and Lidia Bastianich.
Enjoy the shows!

OOOOHH! I'm so nervous! I like all of the top 4 so I'm okay with anybody winning. Sadly, this also means that I'm NOT okay with anybody losing! This means that my only acceptable option is a four way tie!!
I think this an interesting way to format the finale!
Gives everyone plenty of chances to shine.

I'm happy with the final three, and would be happy for any of them to win it next week. Bowen just didn't listen to anyone and Samantha is so young - nice of Ramsay to offer to pay for her culinary school. She should do well.

I knew Sam would go home. Each mentor HAD to have a contestant left in the competition. Just like the final dishes. I knew Sam would win one, Gerron would win one and it would come down to the dessert. This has been Gordon's 'recipe' for all his shows for as long as I can remember. I'd love to see a blow out one of these times, just so I can be surprised!

Yep, Bowen just kept digging himself a deeper and deeper hole. You could see it even when one of the chefs would be explaining what the problem was and how to fix it; he was looking at them and nodding as if he was listening but you could tell by his eyes he was thinking of HIS OWN plan!
I was really happy Gordon made that offer to Samantha! She really puts her heart into cooking and will make the most of the opportunity.

All of those ties and tie-breakers for all these years weren't random? DANG - my faith in reality is destroyed!
I kinda think Sam had to suspect she was toast at the last challenge, at least if she stopped to think about who was being mentored by whom. I was kinda hoping for her to keep going.
Of the ones left, I guess I'm sort of rooting for Cesar.

Thanks for giving a glimpse at one of my favorite shows! We have Hughesnet satellite internet, so don't get "first-run" shows. Was cool to see there was an episode to do with March Air Reserve Base...right down the road from me and I do some work near there occasionally. :-) Excited to hear how the season ends up!
