Carson and Thom are here to help fight the uniformity and ubiquity of American home design with a new business venture in Get a Room with Carson & Thom. Carson has been bitten by the decor bug, and he’s looking to his interior designer buddy, Thom, to take him under his wing and teach him the design trade from soup to nuts. Each episode will feature two clients looking to transform a space. Some have big budgets and some small, but they're all trying to create a beautiful room that is unique to them. With Carson’s fashion sense and bold personality and Thom’s designer acumen and friendliness, the bodacious besties will create breathtaking and affordable redesigns. These two arbiters of style work together, play together, argue, compromise and create spaces as only they can in their quest to make America chic again.
Love Carson! I have seen every episode so far. Last night I fell asleep to the "Shabbat" episode - with the purple wallpaper in the living room and dining room. I didn't like the wallpaper. I had a dream that my home had been damaged by a storm and that women were coming in and painting each room a different color purple. I don't think I could hand over $50K and leave it up to the designers to do what they want.
I love this show! I love the way that Thom and Carson play off of each other. I love the combo of a BIG project with lots of big ideas combined with a smaller less expensive project. It's just a refreshing way to kick back and laugh on a Friday night ... or Saturday morning.
I loved the original Queer Eye, so I was excited to see two of the guys together again. Really enjoyed the show. It was sweet of them to pay for most of the basement gym. When he said he could only pay $2,000, I wondered how in the heck they could do anything for him, as decent gym equipment is pretty expensive, not to mention enhancing the decor.
I probably would have nixed that wallpaper Thom chose for the couple, but everyone's taste is different. Looking forward to future episodes.
I'm also loving the mix of expensive and budget. The two bounce off each other beautifully. Carson is turning into a serious designer - enough so that Thom has begun leaving him on his own for a few low cost projects - oh, and lately he's been doing DIY projects...is this HGTV?

I love that on the budget project the always have Carson do the DIY project since he's the last person on earth I'd expect to actually do his own DIY. I could see Thom deciding to paint a mirror in his home and doing it himself. I see Carson hiring a painter to do that in his own home.
