Alec? Is there a post on this one page thread (for a double episode) that mentions that? I must have missed it. I just posted, I have no idea if anyone said his name... But now you have it..

Not unhappy with Alec and Carl going. Carl really did not have a strong social game. I noticed that now there are 8 players left it is evenly divided with 4 males vs 4 females, and 4 Goliaths vs 4 Davids.
I did notice that Angelina tries to do jury management each tribal council, especially with this rice negotiation. She also right after something happens rushes to the winning side and tells them that she is on their side and that the others are lying. That will come to bite her. I don't think anyone buys what she is selling anymore.

First reward challenge has Alec, Mike, Gabby, Christian and Alison facing off against Angelina, Davie, Carl, Nick and Kara. I think I got that right. Angelina, Davie, et al... take an early lead by balancing on a rope better, but lose it when Alec shows up like a boss at the end and throws some sticks more accurately than Nick does. The reward winners went off on a picnic, where they over indulged. Alec said he ate 6 wraps or something insane like that. Naturally, when they came back to camp at least two of them were puking. Meanwhile, Nick found a hidden immunity idol with Davie's help. At the immunity challenge, Angelina, Nick and Carl opted out of competing so they could have nachos, beer and margaritas. The challenge was endurance, and hanging out on a small platform not big enough for feet, while holding awkwardly onto handles. They couldn't fall off the little ledge or let go of either handle. Alec was voted out unanimously after fighting 5 1/2 hours for immunity, but ultimately losing to Christian (who wanted it more and/or wasn't about to pass out).
At the reward challenge, Christian - fresh off his immunity challenge high, was not picked to participate. We had camera shots of him looking pretty dejected. These editors are master manipulators. Kara, Davie, Carl and Mike went up against Angelina, Gabby, Alison and Nick. They had to swim a bit and release some buoys, then shoot/dunk them in baskets. In a NOT VERY STEREOTYPICAL AT ALL coincidence, Davie and Carl's team won the basketball challenge and their reward was beer and fried chicken. Yep. You read that right. Anywho. Carl got drunk and shot himself in the foot, talking too much about their plans. One half of the group wanted to vote out Alison, the other half were gunning for Carl at this point. Then immunity challenge comes up and it was a close one (but not terribly exciting) and Davie pulls out the win! I love Davie. This tribal council is pretty tame compared to the ones of late, and Carl's game ends, much to the delight of Gabby.

I cracked up at Angelina's "negotiation skills" she wanted to give way too much stuff away at her first offer. She thinks she's good at it? And why would you ever give away coffee and tea? It has some nutrients. Tea has antioxidants in it. I don't drink coffee but there must be some benefit other than just caffeine. I realize they aren't vegetables, but neither are they something to negotiate away when you're starving. At the very least they're a different flavor than water. I'm glad Carl left. Alec was neutral for me, I didnt care if he stayed or went. I hope Gabby shoots herself in the foot and gets herself sent home instead of Christian.

Christian "jigglypuffed" Alec: he talked him into a stupor and made him lose the immunity challenge. LOL!
Angelina bragged about her negotiation skills but she was horrible at it! She put too much on the table right off the bat for an unspecified amount of rice. I think she should have started with giving up some luxury items for a set amount of rice. Figure out how much rice each person would need per day, then determine how many days of rice you want to ask for. If Jeff didn't accept the first bid, then offer more stuff. I also thought her timing sucked. I would have thought she would wait until tribal council and kick that off by negotiating for rice, instead of doing it right before a challenge. It makes me wonder if she floated the idea by Jeff or a production member before the challenge and they told her when to ask for it so Jeff could offer up his deal of someone sitting out the challenge to get the rice.
Why aren't they using their fishing equipment or scouring the island for food? There's got to be something they can acquire for themselves. Past Survivor contestants have done so.

Ang got really lucky that Jeff offered them rice for just one person sitting out. I’m sure there’s some nuance to her negotiating technique that I, a non-MBA wouldn’t understand, but her initial offer was pretty fair, why would she straight up tell Jeff that it’s a lowball, and guarantee that he won’t take it as is?

So during/after that epic 5 1/2 hour challenge...did Jeff get a break to go pee in the bushes?...how could Christian have flapped his mouth for so long in that heat with no additional water?...did Dr. Joe check out Alec for dehydration or heat stroke?
As for the Great Negotiator, Angelina sacrificed absolutely nothing. Love how Jeff of course knew all about what she had planned, because the cameraman would have alerted him. I'm surprised he didn't make the tribe give up anything. Maybe because it was all one tribe now so no advantage to anyone.
Angelina may be a great goat to string along but I cannot stand that woman. I haven't disliked a contestant this much in a long time.
edited to add...reading the rest of the comments. Angelina says she's super smart, afterall she went to Yale, but in retrospect that was a really piss poor negotiation. Yale should be ashamed of her.

I feel the same way about Angelina, Brooks. I think her biggest problem is she is way too blatant with her manipulation. Somehow she doesn't think that other people are on to her scheming but she's so obvious about it, it's hard to miss! My sister is exactly like Angelina. She's always looking at every situation for what she can get out of it, regardless of how it affects others, and she's so driven toward that goal she doesn't even bother to cover up her ambitions so it's clear to everyone. She might get what she wants but at the cost of forever being seen as selfish and manipulative. When someone like that does do something that seems nice or sincere, it makes you suspicious about what they're really after and what's in it for them because you know they're not doing it out of the kindness of their heart.

Carl finally got voted out, I was about time, he got too cocky and needed to be knocked down a few pegs, I was sad to see Alec go though, mad respect to him and Christian both for lasting nearly 6 hours in that challenge, there is no way I could have done that. And watching Alec at Ponderosa he really has such great sportsmanship its really a shame he wont be at the reunion. Angelina made a great move with the negotiations getting them rice for the remaining days and giving up immunity if I'm a juror she wins a lot of points with me with that move. Looks like Gabby wants to make a move on her number 1 ally Christian next week that should be interesting. 8 players remain 4 women and 4 men. I think Mike is least likely to win, I'd vote for anyone left to win over him.

Me too. Carl's outstayed his welcome, he's gotten so cocky and bossy. And Gabby, stop crying already. Geez. OMG doesn't it drive you crazy! She cries about EVERYTHING

I've said from day 1 I didn't get the "Gabby Love" & that she cries entirely too much! She should've been voted out a long time ago. She is SUCH an emotional player! I'm probably alone on this, but I think they should have waited 1 more tribal to get rid of Carl. Did they even try to talk to him about how he comes across? Doesn't sound like it. The only ones who benefit from Carl's elimination are the remaining Goliaths, because now they are 4/4. Every time the Goliaths claim to want to work with the Davids, they screw them over instead of working with them. They didn't even really work with them on the Alec vote. There were Carl votes mixed in there. I wish they would've shown who voted for who. But anyway, I really feel like they should've waited on the Carl vote, because the Goliaths really can't be trusted. I'm hoping the previews of Gabby telling them she wants Christian out is a ruse. He has an idol. Maybe she wants them to throw votes his way so that they can be sure to get a Goliath out? IDK...if she really DOES want him out, then she's a fool. He is the ONLY person who really has her back. (why, I don't know, but he does.)

Does Christian have a girlfriend? I'm so impressed by his natural ability to comfort Gabby. Christian has been compared to the previously socially awkward Cochran who supposedly was girlfriend-less coming into his first season. If that is Christian's situation, he'll be all set!

That's because Christian is an accomplished professional who happens to be a really good orator. Whereas, Chochran's whole thing was being predeterministic that he'd fail at anything physical and get teased for being a "nerd," and he didn't show expertise in any actual body of knowledge (unless you count Survivor trivia.)

Thanks badseed. It spurred me to read Christian's profile for the first time, which of course mentioned a girlfriend, and in a very respectful supportive way. His profile is the most endearing and funnest I have ever read. He mentions that one of his pet peeves is "reckless abuse of percentages", which is pretty much what he accused Jeff of during the monster challenge when Jeff said there was a 0.0 percent chance of [whatever]. I believe Christian said it was inappropriate for Jeff to say it that way since he couldn't even prove there was 0 percent chance so he shouldn't have further qualified it.

Well, there goes my Captain in spectacular fashion.
Was it just me, or was there an inappropriate amount of beer on that boat for 4 starving survivors?
We've seen a lot of reward challenges with alcohol, I've never seen a cooler full of beer.
Go home Carl, you're drunk.

Well, there are three episodes left including the finale on Dec 19. It will be interesting to see if there will be any more double episodes or more than one tribal council per episode. There are 8 players left and at least 5 need to be voted off before the final Tribal Council.
