I finished The K2, a South Korean show about a martial arts bodyguard love story with political intrigue thrown in for good measure. I enjoyed it. I could not binge watch it, in part because in order to read the subtitles I have to pay more attention to the screen than I often do when watching a show. It was OTT in some places, but for me that made it even more enjoyable.
It's also only 16 episodes, so it's not too big of an investment. I just discovered that the Turkish show, Filinta, that I started watching has 150ish shows. I'm only a few in and I'm not certain I like it that well to watch that many episodes.

I've marked it on my calendar. Me, too . . . the whole day. I'm not a "one episode per day" kinda gal. Hubby and I will probably spend the two weeks prior to the 15th re-watching the previous three seasons. We're retired, staying away from people as much as possible, and really love the series!!! So this is heaven for us!

Hillbilly Elegy was a great book, looks like the movie might be just as good. I've seen a few really positive reviews (and people talking about Oscars being deserved!).

It wasn't until I saw Glenn Close's name towards the end of the trailer that I realized it was even her. Talk about a transformation! I'm excited about this movie and think Ron Howard was the perfect director for it. To me, the book was fantastic for two reasons - the author's personal story which it looks like has been captured well AND his insights on the kind of life he came from. I may find myself surprised, but have a feeling there's not a good way to work those insights into the movie. So it somewhat makes me sad that so many people will see the movie and figure they "know" the book and will miss out on that other fantastic part about it!

The Social Dilemma. Very disturbing look at social media and their manipulation of many of us through algorithms and AI. It's why I'm not on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc!

Thanks, FM. I don't even know what Google does. I use Yahoo! for a search engine and MS Outlook for email.

Any on-line website that is popular enough that people know what it is when it's name is mentioned is harvesting data on all of us and using algorithms to keep us hooked. Some do it better than others, but they are all doing it.

I'm going to be an outlier and say I disliked Hillbilly Effegy for a variety of reasons. However, the movie looks good and from what I've seen from the trailers Glenn Close is fantastic as Memaw so I'll watch.

Some do it better than others, but they are all doing it. I find it unsettling that it seems like every time I do a search for an item it seems like I start getting pop-up ads for things like it every time I'm on the computer. Plus, I start getting e-mail ads for them. And this is when I didn't even order, log into anything, or give any information. Just looked. I feel like I'm being monitored & stalked. I probably am.

I like that Facebook has discovered I like what Classic FM posts. Mob stunts and music of remarkable kind.
If you want to see my collection go to my page Melinda Nelson.

Yes, you very definitely are. As the documentary explained, it’s the price we pay for the free services.

The Haunting of Bly Manor - I was really looking forward to this, but it was a bit of a let down. It was an okay drama/ghost/love story, but it certainly didn't have the scares like Hill House did. Not terrible, just not the creepy horror series I was looking for. And some of the accents were certainly NOT "perfectly splendid."

It's soooooooooo GOOD!!! I love that she was the only female (for the most part) among all those males, from high school to college and older. Winning and winning. We have a few more episodes. We stopped to watch SNL.

Another vote for The Queen's Gambit. Very good story about a woman killing it in the Chess world. It really sucks you in with her back story and her issues and you can't help but root for her. Loved it!!!
