It gets better. I set aside my whole Friday to binge because of Julia Garner. And though it started slow, it really picked up in the storytelling. I'd still recommend. It's a goofy, yet mostly true, story. Have you heard the real Anna, Julia sounds just like her!

I watched The Power of the Dog yesterday. It’s up for a lot of Academy Awards. If you think you might watch it at some point, watch it now before you hear or read any spoilers because that will definitely ruin it.

All Of Us Are Dead - another fun Korean zombie series. I always love how much their "zombies" get into the role. Ozark - that last episode just about knocked me off the couch. Just when you think things can't get worse...they do. I'm almost dreading the finale. Texas Chainsaw Massacre - annoying "influencers" meet Leatherface. Won't win any awards, but it's not the worst addition to the franchise. Super gory.

Finished watching Inventing Anna and oh my goodness, so many feels. I think the only person who came off well both in the Netflix series and in the interviews going around now is Kacy. She said she absolutely loved the Laverne Fox portrayal of her and if I had the money I would definitely hire her as my trainer/life coach because genetics aside that woman looks absolutely AMAZING for 66. Seriously, Google her; she's her own best advertising.
Meanwhile, Rachel has had nothing but negative things to say about the show and its portrayal of her and went as far as to say Netflix is glamourizing criminals and scam behavior. I guess profiting off Anna is fine as long as it's her. :/

I think her friends obsessed over her, thinking she was AMAZING and I have NO CLUE WHY? When Rachel offered her credit card........whyyyyyy? Anna was not only a scammer but a rude scammer. She was always making demands on people, screaming at them, harassing people like she did Kacy when she called and called and demanded to stay with her. Even sitting in Kacy's lobby for a whole day and almost night while Kacy did the brilliant thing and ignored her. Her rudeness about what to wear to trial. Pathetic pain in the arse. I think personally the Series could have been shorter. I think it dragged at time. I guess Anna is still in jail in ICE jail in upstate NY.

Julia who played Anna, said she could see why people fell for her. She was also very childlike ..I hated the reporter from, start to finish. The actress who played Rachel would of been much better..

I have a lot of opinions on Inventing Anna. I watch everything Shonda Rhimes so I probably had too high expectations. But only because I know how strong her and the writers can be. Having some of the cast from her old shows was definitely a treat but it didn't hit the way I expected it too. I didn't think of it till you said it FannyMare but yes! Katie Lowes/Rachel would have been the better choice as Vivian. I think she and the lawyer Todd had the best performances. I think the whole series should have been from Anna's perspective. We all read the original article, others probably read the book. They focused too much on Vivian and her never ending investigation. I don't need to see her back pain, a full on labor scene, sniping at hubby, freaking out every two seconds, the dramatic OMG Anna did blah blah. What a pill! It was too much which is probably why it didn't need to be 9 episodes. This is a whole other topic, but how is it Anna's fault nobody could do their job correctly?

Because she sounded like she belonged and she threw around just enough money that that's all people saw; they were like "Oh, you're one of us" and didn't question further, even when the "Kill Bill" sirens were going off in their heads that something wasn't right. There are a lot of trust-fund kids floating around NYC (some local, some from overseas who go to college here) and she fit right in.
Honestly, Anna should have stuck with her original idea of getting investors, even if some of them might not want to work with her because of her age. The idea she had was sound, Fotografiska NYC (the museum that ultimately got the space she wanted) is doing programming similar to what Anna wanted to do but with more of an emphasis on photography. And honestly, no one deserves to be detained by ICE and their myriad ways of abusing people. It's been a year now; she should have been sent back to Germany ages ago.

Finally watching Inventing Anna. ....she annoyed me so much. I was really bothered at the end when her lawyer missed his family vacation because he was sympathetic towards her. I was screaming, no go get on the plane!!!! The whole story reminds me of a lifetime movie about a German guy that pretended to be a count or related to the Rockefellers and scammed his wife and a bunch of other people out of a lot of money. That was a true story too.

We finished Falling for Figaro, we just love Joanna Lumley. It's just a nice little movie, no fighting etc, with quite a few laughs. We both love opera( even though there isn't a lot of it.)
Tonight we watched The Weekend Away. I didn't know, that much could happen to one girl, on a weekend away. DH didn't trust anyone, but then he never does 🤣. I sadly guessed whodunnit. It's an okay little thriller, especially with a big bucket of popcorn.

Maybe we will go back to it. I do like Toni Collette. Does she have more of a presence in the later episodes? I wanted to see more of her.

Yes she does. Although of course the focus is on the daughter and what she discovers along the way but Toni has a great role. The other actors are great too, imo. A few twists and turns I didn't see coming. I am usually able to guess where things are headed and I haven't been able to with this one so I that makes it good enough for me

Life After Death with Tyler Henry! Tyler Henry is IMHO a remarkable Medium. When he was 18 he had a few seasons of a cable show, doing readings for various Celebs. He's a few years older now and still remarkable, but this time, no celebs. I'm on Ep.3 and it's much better than his earlier cable show. He even worked to help solve some cold case crimes. He also gets more into his real life and tries hard to articulate how the readings come to him, but who can understand what is really incomprehensible? He's such an absolutely lovely young man and I'm happy I ran into this in their lineup!
In-between the various readings he is working through DNA and his psychic powers or whatever to solve a mystery in his own family. Interesting!

Life After Death with Tyler Henry: Also loved the series. Interesting to see that even though Tyler is so gifted, he was unable to read his family, and he found that humbling. He said it was as if he has no talent. I know of others that also cannot read their own families, and must rely on other Mediums to bring through loved ones. I binged watched straight through...literally all night. My favorites were the last three episodes, I think because it brought closure to his mom. I love that Netflix invested in Tyler Henry. While I enjoyed his series as Hollywood Medium, this one takes on the more personal side of Tyler and his loved ones. I enjoyed seeing his dad there in the background too. But, even though most are just regular people that requested a reading through his website, there is one celebrity that does come through. Initials BD that surprised me.

Punkin - They haven't canceled Tyler's other show. I think filming got waylaid by Covid. It hasn't been renewed either, but I hope it will be. I did enjoy this new show because we learned more about Tyler and his family. What a crazy story. It makes sense that Tyler can't read his family members. I think he probably needs to maintain emotional distance when reading people and he definitely doesn't have that with his family. His health issues are pretty scary for someone who's so young
