When I browse around at different movies, they automatically start playing at each one I go to for some reason. Is there a way to turn that option off? That's a preview, and I don't think there's an option for turning that off. When it starts to play, go to the lower right-hand corner and you should see the sound icon. Click on that to turn it off. The previews will still play, but you won't get the sound.

Murder Mountain. It is a good 6 part documentary about the "Emerald Triangle" in Humboldt County, California, where 80% of the marijuana in America is grown. It was totally outlaw enterprises until medical marijuana was approved in California in 1996 and then recreational in 2018. One area is called Murder Mountain because of the many murders and missing persons connected to the area. It was really good and I'd recommend it!

Do they mention that it is very dangerous for hikers as the illegal growers would kill them if they accidentally stumbled on to their patches, and that many of these illegal growers divert streams and pollute the water and the soil by using too much fertilizer and pesticides and also they screw with the local animal population and destroy the environment.

Just raced my way through the season of Bodyguard. What a great show. I loved it and really hope they do a second season at some point.
Also watched the movie Quartet starring Maggie Smith. I love anything that she’s in, and this was no exception. Good movie for “older folks.”

I've been catching up with Ozark, around halfway into season 2. I feel bad for Marty. Like he had said, his wife was sleeping with other men, his good friend turned on him, and then a girl he helped out tried to kill him and he still protected her.

It's not called Murder Mountain for nothin'! LOL It actually follows the story of a 20yo guy from SoCal who went there as a trimmer and became one of the 'missing persons' until some of these longtime outlaw growers turned vigilantes. Good story with lots of history. Weed used to come down to the Bay Area from Humboldt and Mendocino counties by the kilo (2.2 lbs) for $100 a key. I knew a couple people back then.

Finished Hotel Beau Séjour
per wiki:
Worth watching. At times it had some weird imagery and lingered too much on background scenes. However the concept of a dead person who is seen by a small group of people and is trying to solve there own death is very interesting. There are twists, and many secrets that are revealed, and at times many lose ends. You do get a sense of quiet desperation from many of the characters. It is interesting to note how other countries emote on screen as at times I did not "get" love or any sort of connection between some of the characters. Dubbed in English. Useful to have the close caption on.

I've been watching Sense8. Here's a description from IMDB:
The people who are linked are a different species of human called homo sensorium. They're linked in clusters that can see each others actions and can even transfer their knowledge and abilities to each other when needed.
The biggest stars on the series are Darryl Hannah, we plays the birth mother of the featured cluster, and Naveen Andrews, the last of his cluster who contacts this group to help them.

I love that show. I binge-watched it when it first came out, but I haven't watched Season 2 yet. (It's such a complex show, and there was so much time between seasons, that I felt like I wanted to watch Season 1 again before diving in to Season 2. Thanks for reminding me that I want to do this. I'm glad you're enjoying it.

I loved Sense8 so much and was furious when Netflix decided to cancel it.
I've been watching Tidying Up With Marie Kondo. What a charming little show.

I hadn't expected to like Sense8 as much as I did but I was looking for something to watch while crocheting and decided to give it a chance. I'm sad to hear that it's cancelled! They definitely didn't market this show well enough to make potential viewers tune in.

The Hookup Plan - In attempt to build up Elsa's confidence, two friends hire a male escort. French 8 episode comedy. Cute, fun, feel good show!
Derry Girls - The personal exploits of a 16-year-old girl and her family and friends during the early 90s. 6 episode comedy. Absolutely silly and hilarious!
Black Mirror Bandersnatch - The options kept distracting me. I still need to choose a few more just to see what they were.
Birdbox - I watched it the morning it came out. Before all the memes and articles started. I enjoyed it for what it was but am so confused as to why it's been made such a big deal.
Dumplin - I wanted to love it but I didn't. I was kind of bored and didn't find it funny. Adore Jennifer Aniston always.
Travelers Season 2 - GREAT!!

Maybe I should have watched Season 2 sooner so that the viewership wasn't down. My bad! Because so many people rallied around after it was cancelled Netflix decided to give a 2-hour finale to tie up the loose ends, which was better than nothing. Season 2 ends on a cliffhanger. I loved the show because it highlighted people you generally don't see in TV in a very honest way and the whole premise of the show (and locations) were very intriguing. It was a very expensive series for Netflix, which is why I think they ended it. They shot on location in Chicago, Amsterdam, Mumbai, Nairobi, Berlin, Mexico, Iceland, San Fran, and other places.

Yeah! It must have cost a ton! It had amazing production values and fantastic locations. And the people who produced it are so great! I can't think of their names, but I can see her pink hair. 😊 (It might not still be pink, but...)

The bottom left corner of the "Emerald Triangle." I recognized a few of the people on the missing posters. Mendocino County is a little bit more tame, thank goodness. This series was VERY familiar to me.

Birdbox - I watched it the morning it came out. Before all the memes and articles started. I enjoyed it for what it was but am so confused as to why it's been made such a big deal. I have mixed feelings about it. The premise was cool. But there were way too many stupid editting mistakes that I couldn't look past. Like when they were trapped in the house....half of the windows weren't blacked out with newspaper. There were blinds open halfway and some that didn't have anything at all on them. I can't STAND movies/shows that aren't consistent. Pet peeve I guess. But the movie has to be SOME WHAT believable if I'm going to be scared. Which I never was. And it drove me crazy that we never knew WHAT it was that was doing this...or WHY. I ended up frustrated at the end instead of satisfied. I don't get the hype.

Has anyone else watched Tidying Up With Marie Kondo? My house is pretty darned tidy (with the exception of a few drawers and one trunk), but I was trying to inspire my mother, who REALLY needs to tidy up her house! Marie is such a sweet person. You can feel the kindness radiating from her. I felt inspired watching the show, although I'm not sure my mom did. We both laughed at her method of having clients pile all of their clothes in one place. My parents both have SO much clothing. I can't imagine where they'd find a place in their house big enough for that exercise. Piling all of the BOOKS in the house in one place? Still, I liked some of her tips on sorting and storing.
I was amazed at how some homes were nicely decorated under the clutter and how some just felt UNdecorated (non-decorated?). I was especially surprised that the older Japanese couples' home felt kind of thrown together. The young couple with the two toddlers in episode one had a lovely home. I also liked the lesbian couple's house (with the exception of the bookcase full of shoes). So much color!
That little toddler telling her father, "You're so cute. I love you!"

I hope this season is more interesting than the last one. I wasn't a fan in the nursing home episodes. I guess it was assisted living, but still. That just seemed like a huge leap. There are plenty of options between being totally independent and going there.

Catwalk - a documentary about cat shows is very well done and quite funny.
Kiss Me First - quiet, moody, a little slow moving, more emoting then talking, about lonely, vulnerable people connecting in a virtual world. Interesting mix of film and Computer Generated Graphics. It does hook you in.

I've been watching Babylon Berlin. I've always been interested in the Weimer Republic era of Berlin but I didn't expect this show to be as good as it is. Netflix has both Season 1 and 2 combined into one season so I'm going to be watching it for a while.

They've confirmed that there will be a third season, but haven't come up with a release date. Critical , I've watched the first few episodes of Tidying Up - the host is adorable! I needed some inspiration to organize my closet and garage (both disaster areas), and I like her idea of just dragging ALL your clothes out and making a huge pile to see how much you actually have. The second couple she worked with were borderline hoarders, I think. Sooo much Christmas stuff, clothes, and baseball cards. Yikes.

I thought Bird box was decent, but I would have rather had something possibly sinister about to happen right at the end. I generally like these types of 'end of the world' movies though. The Road was really good and I liked The Mist also.
