I doin't know why this never got any publicity but as of just a few months ago the magazine has digitized & made available on a subscription basis their archives dating back to the 1880's. If you go to Saturday evening post.com & click on the archive button they give you 3 ways to subscribe, either digital or mail copy or both digital & mail. Either way is just $15 per YEAR.
That is over 130 years worth of their archives for you to read in any way you choose. Almost every great author has been published in the magazine at one time or another & I think it is well worth the money....even if it is just to look at the old ads & see what things used to cost or how things were marketed. Did you know in the 40's Listerine was advertised as a cure for dandruff?
