I'll probably have cereal for dinner because I've fixed a large breakfast and a homemade pizza for lunch

It's always hot here in the summer, but nothing like Oregon and Washington (and BC) are getting right now. I'm grateful for 90s!
It's still too hot for a hot dinner, so last night i made a really great pasta salad with fresh dill, peas, celery and chopped up salmon burger (nicely seasoned already, so I didn't have to do as much work!). I used light mayo as a base and had it over a bed of baby spinach. It was excellent. I think I may do that again tonight.

We got so lucky today as cloud cover happened for hours and we ended up with a pleasant high of 81! I made orange chicken from Costco which I read was the same orange chicken that Trader Joe's sells? Served over rice and with Oregon sugar peas from my garden.

I had the yummiest dinner tonight. I went to a family BBQ and had a brat with a wonderful freshly cooked relish made of peppers, apples, bacon, onions, red wine vinegar, and sugar. So good! Plus lots of other tasty food!

Too hot to cook. Too cheap to do take out. I filled a good size bowl full of cherry tomatoes, sliced in halves, some chopped up red onion, frozen peas thawed in the microwave, and a half an avocado cut in small chunks. Then I poured some fat free italian dressing & about 1 tablespoon of ranch dressing over it & mixed it all up. Not bad at all. I still have at least enough of the ingredients to make another bowl tomorrow or the next day. I just love lazy food prep. The joys of being single.

I’m back home in KY so it’s Bojangles for me Had to look that one up. At first I thought it was a Southern dish I'd never heard of but apparently it's a regional fried chicken chain. Grilled hamburgers with a side salad.

Grilled hamburgers with a side salad. Hahaha. I mean, it kinda counts as such. The restaurants are only in the south, that I know of. Tonight it’s spaghetti and garlic bread

Egg salad sandwich and baby carrots. It was 108º. I couldn't bear to eat anything hot.

UGH!!! 108º is too much! It was only 100º here, and I didn't feel like eating more than one tomato's worth of caprese salad.

Tomatoes actually sound great, but I'm still trying to detox (no caffeine, no spicy, no tomatoes, etc.) and keep my heartburn from coming back. I have a bunch of ripe tomatoes right outside my door and I can't eat them. I keep giving them to my very appreciative neighbor. It's supposed to be 109º tomorrow. I mean, it was supposed to be 111º, so that's slightly better. Not really, but that's what I tell myself I may just hard boil some eggs tonight for more egg salad sandwich dinners this week! In this heat, all I want for dinner is something cold like yogurt....or at least something that isn't hot.

Critical- I still remember to this day how hot and dizzy I got when I went to Sacramento a few years ago during the summer. I was like I left Dallas just to come to another sweltering city! I had no idea it gets so hot there..

I'm in Utah, so I'm used to heat. We always get into the 100s at some point in the summer. It's just happened much earlier this year and is lasting much longer. Fortunately, where I am, we haven't hit the crazy temperatures that many other places have experienced. Even when Salt Lake hit 107º, we were only at 102º. That's amazing that you haven't hit the 100s yet in Texas. The strange airstream seems to have taken the heat much further north than usual. I'm really feeling for California and Nevada now that things are beginning to move back south a bit. I saw that Death Valley is supposed to hit 130º this weekend.
