The Ice Road . . . because it had Liam Neeson. I knew 10 minutes in what the final scene would be, and I was right. Don't bother with this one.

I watched "Ready Player One." I originally saw it on a 70mm screen and it was amazing. I still enjoyed watching it again on the computer.

We watched "The Tomorrow War." I liked the action, but the family relationship angles were predictable, and I didn't like the whole global warming connection.

I thought the global warming was interesting. a good What If. What truly lies beneath the glaciers? Although the leap from aliens recently entering from space to being here for millennia was rather quick.

A Quiet Place Part II - decent enough. Not as scary as the first one, more of a continuation. I wish they had spent more time on what happened right when things went bad, it was my favorite part of the movie. And the non-ending makes it obvious there will be a third movie...

I'm trying to watch Cosmic Sin on Netflix right now and OOF, it is rough. It has a 2.5 rating on imdb. One reviewer said it should be called Cosmic S***. It's a alien invasion/war movie with Bruce Willis and Frank Grillo. I like both of those actors, so I thought, "How bad could it be?" I'm find out that it's pretty freaking bad.

Why does he keep doing so many sh*t movies? I watched a sci-fi crapfest last year only because he was in it - Breach - and it was beyond bad. Like, I wish I could give it negative stars bad.

^ Little work for lots of money so that the filmmakers can then sell the movies overseas and to streaming services based on his (and others like him) name. See this for more. It’s an article about a producer who makes these schlocky movies. There’s a section about how Bruce Willis stars in them part way down. www.vulture.com/article/randall-emmett-movies.html

We watched Quiet Place 2 last night. I didn't care much for it and found it just okay. I didn't feel that we needed to have another main male character who becomes the new father figure. And I thought they showed too much of the aliens. Yes, they were scary but I always prefer that hint of mystery. I don't regret having watched it and think maybe I had too high expectations for it.

Watched Akita: Battle Angel again and enjoyed it even more the second time around. It's so beautifully done and didn't get nearly the acclaim it should have.

The Suicide Squad - didn't think I'd really like it much, but it was totally ridiculous and gory and fun.

I've been bingeing stuff with Sanjeev Bhaskar (he's on "Unforgotten"). Found a movie called "Yesterday" from 2019 in which he has a minor role.
Totally loved the movie . . . based on the premise of a young man who recovers from an accident and learns that - other than him - no one knew about the Beatles.
Great way to spend a couple of hours.

I went to see Jungle Cruise today. It’s a really fun movie. If you are a fan of the Indiana Jones movies you’ll like this one.

I went to see that movie in the theater all by myself at the Matinee Showing. It was the last day of the showing, so not many people there in the theater. At the end during the movie credits, they played all the old Beatles songs, one after the other. I remembered them all. I turned around to see that I was the only one left in the theater, so I began singing along, nice & loud. I didn't quit 'till the credits ended & the music stopped. In addition to loving the movie, i had the best time singing along. I left the theater smiling ear to ear.

It's the first time in a long time that we let the credits run all the way to the end.

You can't go wrong with Danny Boyle films. I watched Yesterday for Himesh Patel and even though I'm more of a Rolling Stone and Zeppelin girl than the Beatles I enjoyed it.

Watched Joker and it made me sad. Sometimes, people really have a screwed up life from the very beginning. Joaquin Phoenix was absolutely amazing in it and I'm glad he won the Oscar.

Reminiscence - I was disappointed with this one. Great cast, decent concept, but poor execution and writing. This movie didn't know what it wanted to be - sci-fi, mystery, love story, dystopian tale, crime caper? - and did none of these well. Just a gloomy mess that didn't get to the meat of the story until it was almost over.
Boo.
