Whatever Floats Your Boat - With more shoreline than Florida, Kentucky is a hotbed for houseboats. For the elimination challenge, the chefs are split into two teams and tasked with throwing a party in Lake Cumberland. Emeril Lagasse joins Padma, Tom and Nilou along with Captains Sandy and Lee from Below Deck.
...Kentucky, a landlocked state, has more shoreline than Florida, a peninsula? Okay...
Enjoy the show!

Edmund's strategy of picking his friends in the house for the challenge turned out to bite him in the nether region. Not only was the other team's party boat more exciting, their food was better in spite of the generator issues. People were having fun, the chefs were really into it, a good time was had by all. Congrats to Kelsey for winning the challenge!
In contrast, Edmund's team was just...there. It could have been just a catered event on a boat for all the enthusiasm they had. Was sad to see Brian go, but apparently his meat wasn't that great. Hope he beats Brandon in LCK.

Yes, Brian performed spectacularly (his dish and running front of the house) episode 4 and won Restaurant War, but before and since he has landed within the bottom three and IMO should have been the contestant eliminated two episodes ago. (I'm still of the opinion that based upon Judges comments, that it was Brother's dish judged second from the bottom and he requested to be contestant eliminated, saving Brother's elimination for another day.)

I loved this episode! Although I can't stand Captain Sandy (was it me or 'I'd hire you' felt super snotty? Like, these are pretty accomplished chefs and are not of need of a job offer, especially one on a yacht.)
The chefs on that one team were having so much fun and loved the 'jiggle juice' idea. Food can be fun! And I loved Eric talking about his dad having a key to the City.

The blue team seemed depressed - a bit like Eyore.... Had their food been better than maybe it would have been closer. The right person left tonight.....

Lake Cumberland alone has about half the number of miles of shoreline of Florida's coast when it is at maximum capacity.....and whoever sat there and calculated that deserved to retire the second they finished.
