Okay, Marshmallows! It's happening!
I can't say much about it, but I participated in an online focus group a while back where I got to watch the first episode of the Veronica Mars reboot. It is AMAZING! Everything I could have hoped for as a V Mars fan. There doesn't seem to be a solid premiere date, but it's coming this summer and, if the first episode is any indication, it's really good!
I'm going to have to rewatch the series AND the movie before the premiere. I mean, I probably was going to do that anyway, but it's going to be even better because I know we're getting more stories from Neptune!

I am so insanely jealous of you. I love VM. I love the show, the movie and can't wait for the reboot.

I am so insanely jealous of you. I love VM. I love the show, the movie and can't wait for the reboot. I sort of couldn't believe I got to watch a whole episode! I thought it would be maybe a scene or two, but it was a whole episode. IIRC, the survey was through Nielson. I was thrilled, but then I wanted more right away! What I'll say is that it definitely feels like the same show - LOTS of familiar faces (although not all of the rumored returning cast members were in the first episode) and some new ones too and, of course, the same brilliant, quick dialogue. It's been announced, so I can say that Patton Oswalt plays a role and he's very funny. There's also a new case (with new characters) that looks like it will run for most, if not all of the season. I think I can say all that without getting into trouble
There are just some roles that people are born to play and I feel that way about KB and Veronica. I don't think anyone else could play that role as well. I also love the relationship between Veronica and Keith. It's my favorite father-daughter relationship on any TV show, ever.
I'm bummed that none of the old episodes are available streaming (free) right now. Nor is the movie. I know it's supposed to be on Hulu before the new series drops, but I want to watch it now!

I have all three seasons on DVD! I may have to dig them out. I will bet that Hulu gets the rights to stream the series right before it airs. Netflix got the Lucifer rights, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I loved this show, bought all of the seasons and when the Movie was announced, I went crazy! I was so excited, and loved the ending (just what I always wanted). Then Rob Thomas wrote two books, which pick right up after the movie ended. I bought both through Amazon e reads and sped through them. I hooked my sister on the series and then she bought the movie, and read the books. I am thrilled to know there is a series reboot. When you consider the fact that the movie was funded by "marshmallows" as quickly as it was, this show is clearly loved and missed. I agree Critical, Kristen is the perfect Veronica Mars, and I too love her relationship with dad. Kristen was originally from Berkley, MI; a city where I visited and lived briefly. But, the fact that she is a hometown MI girl, always warms my heart when I see anything she does. Looking forward to the reboot!!!!!!

And here I was about to cancel my Hulu subscription! I guess I'll hold out until I finish this new season of VMars!

I'm halfway through the first season in my re-watch of the series (and the movie, of course!). I think I should finish in time for the new season. Seriously love this show and the Veronica/Keith relationship is my favorite father/daughter relationship ever on TV.

I can't believe KB is 39 years old!!!! Amazing she was little Veronica Mars just a few years ago (it seems) Previews look action packed, I am getting ready to start my free trial, as soon as I can make room in my schedule!

Even though they moved up the premiere, I'm not going to watch the new season until I've finished re-watching all three seasons and the movie. I'm about to finish season 2. I forgot how dark the season 1 and season 2 finales were. KB looks AMAZING at 39. She looked adorable at both panels VM and TGP at Comic Con. I just love her. And Dax. If you haven't seen the video of them doing the Choco Challenge (they did it live on IG), there's an edited version on this clip from Ellen. It's an absolute riot. I couldn't stop laughing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7wf5YuasqA

I love them both also! I’m a little nervous to watch this and look forward to feedback from others before I begin watching. I have all seasons in dvd and have watched them numerous times, but never did I expect Rob Thomas to finish this new season with so much controversy.
I accidentally saw an article, maybe it was a blog from someone who watched all of the new season on Hulu.....and she ranted about the ending. I was so disheartened to read how this ends that, I can’t bring myself to watch it.
I would rather carry my own version of this show in my heart, than have it shattered by watching the last episode. So, for now at least, I’m finished with Veronica Mars. ( I’m also sad that Thomas believes that relationships are boring after the couple gets together. )

I wish Rob ended this differently, but I can see (grudgingly) why he did what he did. I hope there is a season 5, so that I can watch that one. Not sure I can watch this one, even though I’ve accepted the premise. Anxious to hear how you felt about the season as a whole, and not just the ending. I just don’t understand the reason for giving VM a happy moment and then snatching it away. After all she has gone through, you want something more for her.

I just don’t understand the reason for giving VM a happy moment and then snatching it away. After all she has gone through, you want something more for her. Rob talks about the decision in this interview:
I totally see where he's coming from, but MAN, it hurt.
Overall, I thought the season was great. Up until those last ten minutes, it was perfect....but then Veronica's life isn't supposed to, nor has it ever been perfect, right?
There were several baddies who got their comeuppance (WAY overdue in one case), so that was satisfying.
I was happy Keith's story went the way it did. I enjoyed the bits of Dick we saw (hee), I liked the moments with Weevil and with Wallace and the fun little cameos from various characters we may not have seen in a while.
All that being said, Logan felt a bit like, well, Logan Lite. I get that he was going to therapy, but that shouldn't have blunted his personality so much. It was weird. In the last few episodes, he seemed more like the old Logan.
It's been well publicized that Tina Majorino is not in this season and I really missed Mac. I hope, if they do another season, we DO see her again.
Even though I wasn't happy about the very end of the season, I do really hope they come back for more. I love these characters and love this world.

I hope there is another season too! Thanks for the article, I thought I had read almost every one and this one had similar interview answers to other's I've read. I still don't like his reasoning, I could have come up with other scenarios. (I could have had him killed off on a mission out of the country for instance. Either at the start or near the end). Heck, I would have been ok if Veronica chose to have an affair with the cop....... Why does VM always have to get the raw end? Anyway, I just wish they had handled it differently. I will watch the season, just not until my schedule is lighter, possibly in beginning of Sept. From what I have read it is considered to be a hit, so Hulu might want to give it a Season 5. If so, this marshmallow will be right there!

Yeah, I’d totally be down for a V-Leo re-pairing. They have such great chemistry. Max Greenfield is a total charmer in that role. Show runners don’t always make the choices fans would like, but it’s ultimately their choice. It’s sometimes really frustrating/ heartbreaking. I guess that’s why there’s fan fiction (which I hate, btw)!

I agree. He was kind of boring and not-Logan like. It was like they'd put a clone in his place. I hadn't heard what happened to him, but I knew there was a twist that some fans weren't happy with. As it got closer to the end, I figured he was going to die somehow. And then when the whole thing happened with him not showing up to the wedding, I thought maybe that was going to be the twist--him chickening out and disappearing. But as soon as he headed out to move the car, I knew he was toast, and I could barely stand to watch. I get Rob Thomas's point, and I think I actually agree with it, but it's still sad.

Looking back at the show, V and Piz didn't have much chemistry. Also, I could've sworn there was footage of her as an FBI recruit that didn't make it to prime time.

Interesting! After the end of the recent Season 4, I was thinking that she ought to end up in the FBI, but then I wondered if she'd be able to deal with the rules.

I remember that trailer (for what they had hoped would be Season 4), back when the show was still airing. It has been in the back of my head, and I had wondered if it would show up in the movie, but, that went in a different direction. It would have been easy for me to drop Piz and Logan back then, had they been able to do that season 4. Oh well, here's hoping there is a Season 5!
