I also enjoyed the finale. Im glad Maddie won but have been seeing online a lot of people wanted Gabby to win. Different strokes for different folks. They were all talented. But I preferred Maddie. Either way as a whole I enjoyed the "new" American Idol. Looking forward to next season.
Me too. I'm so glad to have Idol back.
It was a very short season this year, maybe cause it was kind of a 'test run' for the powers-that-be. But I hope the season next year will be the normal length, with only one of the final ten performers being eliminated at a time.
I love that Maddie won! I was soooo happy, was pulling for her from the beginning. It was a really good season. At top 10 I really felt like the 3 contenders based on talent & style were Maddie, Cade and Caleb in that order.
Gabby: eh. Simon Cowell would've called her out for the country accent when she sings, I mean she's from Pittsburgh, let's get real. Our nickname for her throughout the season was "Fake Country." Wants to be Carrie, but there's already a Carrie. Apologies to any Gabby fans!
Oh wait, I just looooved the duet between Katy Perry and Catie Turner in the finale. Beautiful!
So cute that Caleb and Maddie are dating - both such nice kids and so down to earth. Psyched for them about Hawaii! :-)
Over the course of the season, we really enjoyed Lionel Richie as a judge and a mentor to the contestants. He genuinely wants success for them and gives them helpful advice.
Maddie played The Hollywood Bowl the other night. Actually it was an opening performance prior to Disney's Beauty & The Beast. She did The Bare Necessities & it seems like there was a great response. I have a feeling that she is going to do much better than previous winners because of the Disney marketing prowess & synergies that are going to be available.
Yup - looks like the jump to ABC/Disney will help profit these kids. Having Ryan on another show also helped as Cade (he of the long hair and feather on his guitar) got a singing slot on Live with Kelly and Ryan.
