The Future Is Here - The designers are divided into teams to create mini-collections that shows a sneak peek into the future of fashion, complete with special effects transformations for the models, inspired by Simon Huck's "A. Human" exhibit.
Enjoy the show!

Sebastian's dress was amazing. All of the wining team's dressings looked good. Last week, I thought Tessa might be the next villain after Cavaugh left. She has a nice side. I'm used to reality shows editing someone to be the clear mean person. It was time for Frankie to go.

I'm not shocked Frankie is gone, but it is sad that she couldn't execute her vision in the pressure of the competition.
I worry for Kovid if he's going to melt down so completely when the pressure's on.

Do you all think this huge workroom looks darker and more crowded than the old workroom? I think it is probably the walls which are painted white in the old space.
Anyway, I was upset with the lack of vision for most of the design teams. The winning team was the only one close enough to winning - except maybe the back steppes trio.
Not sorry to see Frankie go. She was not made for this competition. AND I was so upset with Hester and her tulle drama. For me, not much to smile about this go around except for the initial reveal of the challenge.

My patience with Frankie and her lack of talent is exhausted. It also makes me wonder how she got on the show. We have seen the audition process in the past. I am guessing that she talked a good game and did have some decent outfits that she was able to work on for a long period of time to show them.....but thank heaven she is gone.
Kovid seems like such a nice guy so I hope that his hysteria stemmed from being partnered with Frankie and her meltdowns. Hopefully he will be ble to keep it together.
I was surprised to read Hester's bio telling of her high end schooling as she seems pretty talentless too...hope she goes next.

I absolutely loved the winning look. I thought it was gorgeous and very creative. I wish I was young enough, tall enough and thin enough to wear it. And, wealthy enough to afford it.
Frankie, yeah, she needed to go. She may (or may not) be talented, but the competition format doesn't work for her. I am not optimistic about Kovid. He is way too emotional to make it far on the show and, in the fashion industry. And, like Franky, he seems to crumble under pressure.
Hester has been a huge disappointment for me. I thought she would bring some fun and whimsey to the competition. So far, all I see is an entitled spoiled brat who keeps making poor fabric decisions. I suspect she will not last long in the competition.

There was so much going on last night and drama it was almost hard to follow the fashion.
Loved the Winner !

All three of the looks on the winning team were amazing.....I will have to look back at the first episode to see what the two men did as I don't recall.
The puffy comforter folded in half and wrapped around the model was dreadful. On cold winter days, I do that in my house....but the runway???? NO.

I don't doubt that Frankie is talented, but some designers aren't capable of producing garments under such a time crunch and with so many rules set down, and/or having to work while other designers are watching and working too. They think they can deal with it all until they get on the show, and then they are usually the first ones to go each season. That's probably why a season with all designers who went home first/early wouldn't work -- unless they were all given more time for the challenges, or were able to work in private cubicles or something.

I loved the winning look. It was cool on its own, but really set off the skin addition too.
So, so happy they're having two day challenges and hope that's the norm, not the exception.

Kovid and Hester are driving me crazy. Please say bye bye.Ms Bossy Boots AKA Tessa is also annoying.
Having said that Tessa et al rocked the challenge, and Sebastian was very deserving winner!

Am I the only one who didn't get the body modification thing? Why in the heck would I want to look like a dinosaur with ridges on my back? Feathers on my chest would be silly. What's the point? The only mod I remotely liked was the necklace on the neck. That might come in handy when you're trying to find the bathroom at night.
Sebastien's was far and away the best look, and his team clearly deserved to be on top. I pretty much agree with all the negative comments here. Hester can't go fast enough for me. I feel sorry for Kovid because of his story, but as we saw with Frankie, pity can run out quickly. I hope with her gone he can suck it up and actually design.

I agree about the body mod----- they were so hideous and there is just no reason why things would be part of the human form.

The ripples on the back actually make my stomach turn. All of the A.Human designs pretty much grossed me out.
I loved Sebastian's dress too. That was wool! The little purse he did, and Tessa's skirt sealed the win for him. Boy, was she bossy! Then her look was the least-liked of the three in the top! ha
I couldn't take Hester's craziness, and agree with her teammate who said she insisted on that tulle so she should have to deal with it. They put away other fabric so she could have that, then she comes asking for the other fabric? No. Make it work! Her look wasn't horrible in the end, but it sure wasn't great.
I couldn't believe they had that long to work, and the team on the bottom had such awful looks. What were they doing that whole time? Well, the fabric choices pretty much doomed them to begin with, but there was nothing done that looked like it would take a day and half for them to make. Horrible.
I really like Christian. The Heidi of the group is a little cheesy, but I'll probably get used to her. Glad Nina's on there, and the man is just okay to me, so far. I can't wait until there are fewer contestants so we can really see more of them and get to know them better. It's always so hard in the beginning when there are so many.

I forgot to mention it earlier. That button bag that Karli used is actually a purse designed by Brandon. You can see it here in the video previewing his 2019 spring/summer collection:

As someone who has actually seen the body mods irl I have to say they are absolutely stunning. The connection of the skin to the mods are absolutely seamless, and the skin tones also match up, making it look very natural.
I'm a little bit fed up with Hester. She's someone who does not play well in group situations; everyone had to cut their fabric allotment short because she wanted all that tulle, then she decided that she didn't want the tulle and wanted some of Nadine's fabric (and Tessa inserting herself into another team's issues was really none of her business and not a good look), then she decided she wouldn't be using all of it (after cutting it in such a way Nadine couldn't salvage it) and going back to tulle was rage inducing. They are very lucky there was a much worse team there because I have a feeling that everyone would have shoved her under the bus for good reason.
Instead of just doing anything because she had immunity, Tessa wanted her team to all excel. Her advice to Sebastian about his dress looking like a vagina inspired him to make a new, beautiful wavy dress that looked beautiful with the body mod. I admit to not really liking Afa's offering last week, but his jumpsuit was super chic and super cool. And Tessa got some cool points with me when she told the panel that Sebastian sewed her skirt and created the bag her model walked down the runway with. Overall, this team deserved the top slot.
My next favorite was Team Back Ruffles. It really looked severe, futuristic, cohesive as a group, and completely highlighted the body mods.
Team Necklace's Sonya's design was the best. It was light, airy, and the fabric was marvelous. Was not fond of the design that looked like someone wrapped a comforter around the model, or the design that was basically a caftan for a plus size model. It was nice fabric and moved nicely, but was still a caftan.
Team Chestpiece was...terrible. This should have been one of the easier mods to design for (as all you really had to do was highlight the chestpiece) and they failed miserably. I know it's a pressured environment not everyone does well in but there seems to be loads of tears already and it's only the second week. Frankie I can understand since her entire life fell apart drastically prioor to appearing on the show but Kovid was in the weeds too this week, and it was...a lot. Renee's idea of letting the little chicks do their own thing without any guidance or suggestions backfired miserably. Not only was their group the worst of the lot, in many cases the actual designs actually covered the chestpieces.
The right person went home. I don't think this sort of competition is right for her, but I hope she made some connections and hope that she uses her sequester time to pull her life together and go on to better things. I wish her nothing but the best.
