There's Always a Twist - Alliances are tested after a highly anticipated merge between tribes; one castaway wins the first individual immunity challenge of the season.
Merge time! Enjoy the show...

Whoa, so much going on in these first few minutes. They merge, then the voted off players come in as a surprise, they run a challenge and Devens wins so he gets to get back in the game. The rest just stand there in tears, talking to Jeff for awhile after all the players leave, then he tells them they have a choice -- they can go back to the island! He tells the players in the game that they too, will have the choice to go home or to the Edge of Extinction island, so now they know.

Wendy and Keith decide to go home? Eh, won't miss them.

Quitters. I suppose they were realistic in thinking they wouldn’t beat out the others to make it back in the game. Although, Wendy came awfully close. I’m glad they’re gone.

Joe lost immunity, so do they take him out while they can? I hope not, because I like watching him, but it would be a good move. Or do they go with Devens (Rick)? I wish Wentworth would be the one though, to be honest.

I didn't want Joe to be voted out but it was the best move. Kelley hasn't been winning challenges so they can get her out anytime. They might have to wait a long time to get another shot at Joe.
I was thinking after the show that going to Extinction is probably the best thing for Joe! He doesn't have to worry week to week about being voted out It's like he's won immunity until the next challenge to get back in the game. He certainly has a great chance of getting back in and he'll be closer to the end then so he'll have a better chance of getting to the finals.
I noticed Keith wasn't in the jury but I didn't notice Wendy's absence. Good riddance!!! I won't miss either of them. I hope neither of them is brought back in a future season. Losers!

Joe did look good on his way out, a nice Jack Sparrow look! He sounds determined, hope that fire burns and he can win his way back in! But then, he'll have to win out the immunity challenges in order to stay in the game. They won't let him hang around, I'm afraid.
I'm so bummed though, to not be able to watch him in the game!

I don't know who is going to want it more.. Joe or Aubrey. She was jumping for potty mouth joy before Jeff got all the words out of his mouth. No matter who comes back they will have the target on their back. I would take either one back to be honest, but at this point, I really want David to win it all. There is just something about that man, can't help but want him to get the big win. I am glad Keith is gone, I could never warm to him. I really seriously question his ability to be a viable physician like he wants to be.

Kudos to Reem for not giving up, I'm surprised Keith and Wendy did. I think Joe was far too comfortable, this might give him the kick in the butt he needs. He's great at challenges, but his social game and strategy suck. I thought this was a very good episode, especially as they all know about extinction now. Aubrey was in tears one moment, ecstatic the next. I just loved her emotions. Please let Wentworth be next..survivor gods, are you listening!

1. Whose Ken? I have no recollection of this guy whatsoever. lol Also, Aurora? Were these people flown into camp between last week and this week? lol
2. Wendy takes lots of bleep from some viewers, but I guarantee at the reunion, she's going to feel the love from castmates and Jeff. I enjoyed every second she graced my screen. I noticed she did well in all the challenges, including helping to solve puzzles. I was hoping tonight she'd win the challenge to get back in the game. It was fascinating watching her work so calmly and steadily as her Tourette's acted up. Knowing full well any more stress might make the tics worse. She almost had it. BY a mile.
3. Choosing to go home rather than stay on the island to fight another day is a personal decision based on factors we are not privy to, so I'm not going to judge anyone who leaves. Having said that, Kevin behaved like such a slime ball last week, good riddance.
4. There is an imbalance on extinction island in that poor Reen has been there for over two weeks without any real sustenance. NO shelter and nothing but mind games to keep her occupied. I think Aubrey is too all over the place to be focused enough to win.
5. Joe Joe, Joe. I started out disliking you and your man bun years ago. But, this season I find myself rooting for you. That's because you do all the damn work, boy! Your tribe actually skated by in all those wins courteous of your hard work. You practically built the camp. Cooked, made fire, went fishing, while your tribe lived off your labor. You kept saying at the beginning of this series you were going to lay low, not be so helpful because that's what contributed to you being voted out the last two times. But, you did not follow your advice. And you trusted everyone. I did appreciate the fire in your belly as you stalked off to extinction Island vowing vengeance. That was some good t.v. Because I've never seen you express anger in that way.
6. Oh lord, Wentworth. The more they delay voting her out, the more her power grows. It's like most of them don't consider her a threat. Why all the emphasis on David and Joe? She's the real shark in this game. She'd cut her own mother to win.
7. I don't quite know why David is always in the 'vote him out ' mix. He's nice. But, he isn't a threat at all. IIt's hard to understand the strategy of these votes this year.
8. I hope the reign of mad dog is over. Because he is a fraud. He's lazy, he's not capable of playing a good social game and he's terrible at challenges.

I always think "what an idiot" when the voted out person says "they will regret what they did". Really, if Edge of Extinction didn't exist you would be out. It is stupid not to take out a physical threat like yourself (Joe). They did the right thing.
I just hope he messes up his chance to get back in. I like the little folk, not so pretty, not so charismatic, like Aubrey who beat all the tall, skinny, pretty people at their game. Maybe she can shave Joe's hair. Arrrrrrrgh!

Kelly is a you know what. And really at times I wanted to punch her in the mouth. Just really hope that Joe can find a way as well as Chris and Reem. Rooting for those three.

Life for the contestants at Extinction might be easier now that Joe's there. If he continues providing for them like he did for his tribe, they might get a better shelter and more food out of the deal. And for him, if he ends up back in the game he could end up in good graces with the jury members he leaves behind and get their vote in the finale.

I still can't get over the resident Jack Sparrow. Is he intentionally trying to look like him?
And, my GOD, his HAIR!!! I sure hate to see it when it's washed and conditioned! Could it be any more FULLER?? Okay, I'm admitting now that I'm popping smack about his hair because I'm so jealous that hubby won't grow it out like that! LOL!

So...about the jury... Does this mean there is no Ponderosa this season? If so, presumably anyone on EOE can choose to leave at any time, which makes it unknown who or how many will be on the final jury. That messes up the usual social game.
I haven't been a Wendy fan, but definitely impressed with her holding it together during the last part of the challenge.
When Jeff said "Come on in!" I wondered if any of the contestants wondered if these were their loved ones.

It could be interesting to see the jury walk in to each tibal, half of them disheveled, half of them clean & made-up

I'm all for the Joe (and his hair!) love, but they showed Chris catching fish right after he got to Edge Island. I would bet he's still doing that a little bit. I think TPTB are purposefully making it rough there, like them needing to walk so far and uphill to get a small daily rice ration.

Ron rubs me the wrong way. Those arrogant because they are in the majority are sure to be blindsided and have their faces rubbed in humility. Can't wait.
Dude, you didn't make the majority you are just lucky to be in it.

I actually hope Aubrey gets back in, but Joe us a challenge beast so it could be him. There are a number of people I Zwould love to see leave for good... Kelley tops the list, followed by Ron and Wardog

Has anyone seen any discussion as to whether they have to stay on the beach? Couldn't they move closer to the drop off station? (In which case, would deliveries be made to the beach instead, LOL?)
