208 (Showcase/Final Judgment) - For the first time ever, "American Idol"'s iconic showcase round hits the road, heading to Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina, Hawaii, where the show's Top 40 contestants take to the beach for incredible solo performances in front of a live audience and the superstar judge panel. Following the performances, it's an emotional roller coaster in paradise as the judges sit down with each contestant to reveal their fate, culminating with the show's Top 20 finalists.
Three hours tonight (!) - enjoy the show!

I stuck with it for all 3 hours. The editing was interesting so that it held my attention. My favs are Jeremiah and Laci.
I was surprised that Wade made it out of Hollywood since he did so poorly in the group round so I was shocked when I saw him on the leaked list at top twenty. Still surprised, but I guess they said his voice was unique...we will see.

This is a good Top 20. Maybe the 1st time I have not found one that I absolutely did not like. Good luck to them all.

Same here. The ones I felt sang a good showcase went through - I wasn't shocked with any of the choices. It helped that the judges have such telling faces while the singing was happening.
I, too, was surprised at Wade advancing, but he did perform well. What I can't get over is either his lack of education, his non-comprehension while in school or whatever - but the "I thought Pearl Harbor was a movie" comment really got to me. Maybe his generation is so far removed from WWII that it is no longer in the history books or even talked about in families.

I did laugh at that, but also when he said that he didn't have a passport when they told him they were going to HI. Did he think it was a foreign country?

His issues aside, and by now they too are aware of them, they are quite taken by the tone and sound of his voice. Earlier did they equate him to someone like Johnny Cash? They said he would be the one if they heard him on the radio, they would know who was singing.
