Walker's doing a good job with Jason Mraz!! They seemed to get along nicely too, which is nice to see.

Pat Benatar sounds great. Kate's voice is too soft and sweet and does not compare to Pat's. This was a fun song, but the duet performance did nothing for Kate. Her screech at the end was unfortunate too.

Walker is so cute. He was adorable with Jason. Kate... meh.

I don't know Brett Young, but he was sure sweet to Riley. She's a pretty girl, only 16?! wow. The girls in the audience love Brett; I could hardly hear him singing because of all the screaming fans. Their duet was good, she's quite a country gal, but she's got a voice! She did better than he did, I thought, and it's his song!!

I'm just not an Uche fan. Nope.

I was bored with Uche's part of that duet.

I wasn't impressed with Madison last week, and even though she had some good moments in this song tonight, she really should not advance.

LOL at Shawn filling us in on Elle King: she has songs on the radio, she has songs on commercials...!! She also has a very low-cut top!

Who is Elle King? Never heard of her.

Who is Elle King? Never heard of her. Me either, but apparently she has songs on the radio. Shawn messed up, but that's not why I think he should go home. His voice is just not that spectacular to me.

I only know Elle's Ex's & Oh's song from a couple years ago. *shrug*
That duet was underwhelming.

Who is Elle King? Never heard of her. She is actually the daughter of comic actor Rob Schneider.

Ashley did a good job on that song w/Jason Mraz. Though I always laugh when someone starts playing piano in the beginning of the song then abandons it, because I did that once and got ripped apart for it! haha!
Her voice is strong, and she held her own with the pro.

I am recording and zipping through so not caught up yet. Pat Benatar sounds amazing!! I liked Madison's duet with Pat a whole lot more than Kate's. Walker was very good with Jason Mraz. Idk the country guy singing with Riley. Good performance but not my cup of tea music-wise. Guess I am out of touch but never heard of Shaggy, either, although I did like his performance. Uche did not impress, however.

Did I miss Bumbly's audition? I don't remember seeing her in the earlier episodes. I'd think I'd remember a subway singer, but then I might have not watched every minute.
She did a good job on his iconic song. She has good stage presence too. I like this singing better than when she was belting it out in the rehearsal/lesson.

Laci is sounding extra breathy in the duet part; I want to hear more "voice" from her. She did better when on her own, when he wasn't singing.

So Kate, Shawn and Bumbly going home tonight. I guess I won't worry about Bumbly's backstory and not hearing it, since she's leaving now.
People on Twitter are upset at how Elle threw Shawn under the bus, that it was her mistake, not his. I personally don't think that it was the reason he didn't go through, but it's unfortunate that it was his last experience on the show and it ended like this.

Kate, Shawn, and Bumbly go home. I would have chosen any of them over Uche.
ETA: what I don't like about this format is the random breaking down of 10 tonight and 10 tomorrow and having to choose each night. I realize for the sake of time they need 2 nights. HOWEVER, maybe tomorrow night all 10 duets are fabulous, even better than tonight. Why should 3 better performers have to go home? I think the decision should be made on the 2nd evening... Eliminate 6 then.

I wonder if they separate the groups knowing full well who will be their "lower" performers, so they won't all be on the same night?

I agree with Kate, Shawn and Bumbly going home. Out of the 3, Bumbly’s personality came out the strongest.

They had the strong women on tonight. I really liked the blonde one that plays the piano and is also a writer.
I know the island guy,the blind girl, and the amazing guitarist must be on tomorrow.

I thought the blind girl was already eliminated. She was, in Hawaii. I would have kept Kate & booted Riley. I am really liking Ashley more each week.

I would have booted Uche and kept Bumbly. Looked like Shaggy was very impressed with her. I didn't like Riley's solo but her duet was really good. I had no problem with Kate and Shawn leaving as they were among the weaker performers.
I would have to think that they divided the groups carefully as it would make no sense to have the weaker people in one group so that 3 of them were kept over 3 stronger performers. I would have to say that AI knew what they were doing.

It looked like in one shot that Elle King was using a crutch. Am I mistaken or did anybody else notice it? It did seem like she was having some problem getting around.
I did not know her before I saw her buying her wedding gown on SAY YES TO THE DRESS. I did hear that she cancelled her wedding. I also would not have known it was her as she looked very different. Has she not been well?

I agree. They knew who was ready to go based on rehearsals and divided them accordingly. I am SO PSYCHED to hear Alejandro tonight. I’ll confess to a slight obsession where he’s concerned. 😁
