I see no sense for the contestants who were voted in, to sing again. I am not really liking this format. I feel awful for Alyssa. She went home last year and I fear she is going home again. Pretty sure she will not get a save. I really enjoyed her performance yesterday. Jeremiah must have felt confident he was in the top 10 , otherwise why sing an original song?
I really liked his original composition. I think he is a super talented musician but his voice is not appealing to me. Not that he sings poorly, but rather to me, I do not enjoy the sound ( timbre?) of his voice. Plus, idk if it is just my age or what but neither my husband or I could understand a single word he sang. The band is so loud and seemed to drown him out. Either that or he did not enunciate well.
Does anyone else have trouble understanding some of the singers? Just me?
I agree, ECM, the sound is off tonight. I especially noticed it when Alejandro sang; it was just too loud and overpowering.
Lionel saved Uche' of course. I didn't really care for the big ol' pout Uche' had going before he sang. Others were sad too, but you didn't see them out there pouting about it. But, hey, it worked for him, he got saved because he's an "entertainer."
I have to agree with all of the top 7, it was who I would have picked. I had a feeling that the 3 saved would be, but I would have replaced Uche with Ashley. Uche came of like a diva for lack of a better word. The pout, the attitude, and almost like there was a sense of entitlement about it all, VERY off putting for me. I agree with you way, I don't see him lasting long even after the drama save.
As for the top 7, Laine, it is about time you dug in the that Southern Rock bag, and yeah.. I loved it. I still want to see him try some Bruce but that was a wonderful song choice for him. I also loved Wade's song choice.
I'm thrilled with the top 10, including Uche. Despite his disappointment, he still managed to give a wonderful performance with Diamonds, and to me, vocally, it was his best performance so far. Were all of them disappointed, yes. Several of them had tears in their eyes and were better at handling their emotions. Some of the ones who didn't make it past 14, should continue to work on their craft and come back (like Riley, Ashley and Evelyn if she can get more coaching on how to handle her lower register.) I was so glad to see Demetrius and Laine get through. I'm still not on Alejandro's band wagon and tonight's performance didn't change that opinion. But I was ok with him advancing. So except for Uche, America got it right! I started out really liking Wade, but either he was a little hoarse these last two nights, or he has a few more limitations than I thought he did. I still love the tone of his voice, but he is one that will need to be careful choosing his songs.
We seem to see the same complaints about the sound every year & every year I have to remind you that if you aren't listening to the broadcast in Surround you are not hearing it as it is produced. And that's all I'll say about that. LOL!
In the end I had predicted 3 of the 4 dismissals & even predicted Uche would be saved & Evelyn would be gone. I only missed on Walker.
Gonna be a great Top 10, I believe I saw that next week is Disney night (not gonna guarantee that, but I seem to have seen it somewhere). It would be cool fro someone to go completely out of the box & sing Grim Grinning Ghosts from The Haunted Mansion.

We do have surround sound, but there were a couple singers last night that we couldn't hear the words they were singing. Most of the singers, we could hear the words they were singing, so maybe it's the singer.
I thought that the show's production was very rough...did they not have a rehersal? When the guys came out repeatedly to set up the mics, I shook my head. Did they not knew that the mic was needed on stage? Even Ryan who pretty much never falters forgot to tell Riley that she was up and started to read her intro...then had to stop to tell her it was her turn.
Just glad that we got rid of Eddie...he just annoyed me and I was glad when Katie did mention that his performance Sunday was not one of his best. Uche, the diva, I am sure did not set well with the voters. His being on TV will help him get gigs that suit his entertaining...lounges, cruise ships. There is a living to be made.
When it comes down to it, the reason this show was created was to make someone money. Flash and gimmicks are fine to entertain in a visual aspect, but they do not translate well to sales or radio play. Uche CAN sing, hell they can ALL sing in some respect and granted some more than others, but he doesn't have a stand out voice or sound. Lionel is right Uche IS an entertainer which translates to me to mean he is not an artist/musician. I know we all have different musical tastes and I can respect that so don't get me wrong I am all for to each their own and all that, but looking at Uche form a business standpoint too... I do not see him doing much beyond cruise ships and weddings. His attitude, yes he was sad... everyone that made it over to the danger zone was sad but they dealt with the situation better, with grace and aplomb. Uche's Diva with a 'tude display was very disappointing to say the least and will not win anyone who was on the fence over. I would love to see where everyone stood in respect to votes because I am wiling to bet Ashley or even Riley were closer to the top 10 than he was.
