Still don't like Uche, and that song didn't help. Laci was okay. I do like Katy's costume, though that thing can't be comfortable...

Rebel Wilson???? Our own "Madhatter" Ryan says. I just don't understand. So far, it's not helping much either, to have her talking to the contestants.
I did not like Uche's performance or song.
Laci looked pretty, and sounded pretty even though I didn't know that song from Tangled. It didn't blow me away or anything, but it was fine.
Alejandro's up next.
Katy as Ursula the octopus looks strange, and all the antics w/Disney is annoying. Just focus on the contestants!!

I thought Alyssa did a nice job with her song, and she looked very pretty. Loved her dress! I hope she makes it through over some of the others that have gotten in.

Everyone’s doing ok so far, but just ok. I was hoping for more from Alejandro, but I guess he’s been sick. Why have a professional on tonight? Save that for filler on the results show.

Wade did a nice job with that! I really liked it!

I didn't know Alejandro has been sick...he seemed off. Nervous, almost? I don't know.
Wade was great, I love that voice of his.

Walker is so freakin’ adorable! That song, playing piano...

Interesting that they are adding filler tonight (Leah Michel and Maddie/Caleb) rather than tomorrow night. Also RESULTS will be revealed tonight, I think I heard. Voting closes during the final commercial.
Actually I think Rebel Wilson has been encouraging and giving each contestant the thing they needed to hear. Loved the bathtub with Madison.

This is a good song for Madison, and the music isn't louder than she is. She's killing it!

Great song for for Laine. 😄

I agree about Rebel, she's actually giving constructive advice - unlike the judges who pretty much love everybody and everything tonight.
Madison and Laine were both fantastic.

I love Laine so much, and that song was fun, but I wish he'd chosen something else to highlight his voice better. He's got such a good voice and I didn't hear much of it tonight. I'm glad he got glowing reviews from the judges, but his placement tonight isn't great -- I thought he was going to be the one to close the show. Who gets that prime spot?

Ahh, it's Jeremiah! Seeing his sister, the first family member to come see him, almost made me cry. So sweet! The Magic Mike performance was funny! Rebel was right, he does need to cut loose a bit. He sang that song like a maniac. Wow.

Yes, the RESULTS are tonight! Tomorrow is listed in the guide as a look back at the journeys - probably of the top 8.
Hmm...they haven't mentioned a tour and how many would be going if one is in the planning.
Next Sunday's show is also LIVE ACROSS THE COUNTRY. Whew!

I would have preferred Demetrius stay over Lacy, but, I'm glad they held their save.

Can you imagine Lacy’s voice on any radio station…?

I'm so glad they didn't save Uche' just because he entertains them. At least he didn't pout about it this time -- progress! Dimitrius was good, but he just didn't have the appeal for some reason, and being in the bottom both this week and last wouldn't have been a good use for the Save.

I would have preferred Demetrius stay over Lacy, but, I'm glad they held their save. I am glad they held off too. Interesting that the last 3 remaining were last week's saves. Maybe they should rethink the idea of saves. Obviously America likes who they like. Glad Luke mentioned how difficult it was playing the piano and singing so well. Walker did a great job. Rebel suggested Lacy belt it out but it did not seem she took the advice. Her voice is unique but not sure there is much power behind it. Jeremiah disappointed this week. Who was Katy kidding about him hitting that high note at the end? I noticed he quickly pulled the mike away. Oldest trick in the book. Laine was fine. Never heard that song. Alyssa did a good job too. Glad she made it through. Wade was fine but I think after a while I will tire of his gravelly voice. And now I am gonna duck from the thrown tomatoes. Still have no idea what the judges and audience are hearing when Alejandro performs. Horrible performance, imho. His voice is very high- pitched and unpleasant to my ears. His singing seemed even worse this week. My girl Madison killed it.

I thought Jeremiah bailed on that last high note. Rather than holding it to end with the music, he cut abruptly. I don't think he could hold it. Maybe he, too, has viral problems.

So sorry that I didn't get to vote tonight. I'm on the West Coast and watched the American Idol 8:00 PM show. I wish they would hold the voting over to Monday morning so viewers like me who see the show later on can participate too. As to tonight's show, I thought it was pretty good, and I agreed mostly with the outcome. My favorites were Laine, Wade, Madison and Jeremiah with Walker close behind. I also did like Alyssa. I know I'm in the minority, but If I had my druthers, I would have kept Demetrius over Alejandro who I still haven't warmed up to. I confess, I did not know the song he sang, but even if I had, I think he and Uche were the weakest. This is the first time that I haven't been impressed with Uche's vocals and performance. I don't think he lost out because he pouted last week, I just think he wasn't as good as the ones who got through. And he took his elimination very well tonight. I am still a fan, and wish he well in his quest towards stardom. I liked Demetrius's song and performance, and am sorry to see him go. I thought he was better than Laci and Alejandro, but in my opinion, I think Laci has more potential than Alejandro though Alejandro seems to be a favorite of the judges and has huge support from viewers as well, so he may end up one of the finalists.
I don't know why TPTB are so intent on rushing the show this Season. Are the viewing numbers so bad that they can't wait to get the show over with? I thought that when the contestants were whittled down to 10, they only eliminated one each week. I hope, starting next week, they will only eliminate one, as they have done in the past.

I got up this morning and listened to Alejandro’s version of Remember Me (several times). I think I was underwhelmed last night because I had been listening to the Disney version all week. This morning I was able to let go of that and appreciate how he restyled it with the minor drop and his silky lower register. No tomatoes, ECM... we all have different musical preferences. Alejandro hits the bullseye for me, but not you, and that’s ok. I’m usually fine with Jeremiah, but last night was bad. Not just the last note. I haven’t been that impressed with Laine, but LOVED Oo de Lally. He seemed to really loosen up and have fun. Walker is another one I hope will go far. Cute as a button, great musicality, consistent.

Overall, Jeremiah is good, but he almost overdoes it for me on the vibrato.

Normally when Ryan does his announcements he says "In no particular order...." and he didn't yesterday so I would have to think that he did announce the popular order. Wish he didn't do that.
I mentioned a while back that I hoped the judges would not select the final three in the top ten since those three were the first to go last year. Duh....

It was good to hear Alejandro's lower voice...I felt like that is his regular voice, and what we have been hearing is perhaps a pseudo voice - which is perfectly fine. That has been done by many singers going back to the 50s with success and popularity. However, if so, it explains to me why he arranges his song in basically a certain range and stays there.
It appears like Laci is trying to branch out. The last 2 weeks it seems to me she has not wanted to sing or appear particularly country. I personally think Laci's strength is country. However, I agree that Laci looked like a Disney Princess last night.
Dimitrius has a good voice; however, I think in this contest he is overshadowed by Jeremiah who has a similar but stronger voice. Uche' has to have the right kind of songs for his performances, and perhaps he needs to be taken in smaller does. He would probably be a great opener for some group.
Ragu has a very good voice, but then again in the same category she is being overshadowed by the super powerful, extremely gifted Madison.
Laine is this year's heartthrob. He sang a fun song from Robin Hood. Nobody competes with Laine in the category of heartthrob, so as long as he doesn't mess up, he will stay on for a while.

The duet by the top placers last year really proved my contention that they went totally white-bread, main stream last year---nobody stood out. Tht duet was pretty boring and ordinary and neither had any kind of special voice. Apparently AI went in a totallyy different direction this year.
I kept thinking during the song that many of the top 8 this year could have defeated these two.
