Idol or Bust - Spirits are lifted when castaways living 'on the edge' read letters that they wrote to themselves before starting this adventure. Also, the final seven castaways battle for immunity during a tough puzzle challenge.
Enjoy the show!

Why is Lauren obsessed whether Rick found an idol or was given it? Who cares? If you are worried about him finding one, go look for it yourself!!!

I love that Rick is playing with their heads. Pretending that he is hunting for the idol, when he already found it.

Seems Julie or Aurora will go. Latter over being a threat.

If they are smart they will vote out Aurora.

I really like Aurora, but I dislike how she doesn't adapt to the changes in the game.

Devens should totally win this game. He's playing ALL of them. Aurora was voted out and Devens keeps his idol for next tribal.

I am loving his game play and you know the jury does too. I really can't see anyone else taking this thing.
I don't like that the next returnee comes back right at the end.
Did Jeff say the final is next Wednesday?

Did Jeff say the final is next Wednesday? I am as well, I hope the jury DOES reward him. I really like how he is playing now, its up front and in the open and he is not being a total tool bag about it, he is being honest.. no matter if the others want to believe it or not. He forced them to pick their bottom of the 4, it was Aurora, and I also hope that SHE sees that and admits that he is the better player.

I really don't want Rick to win if only because he's being such a smug jackass. The faces he makes, the gestures, the absolute theater of everything, he's being so off-puttingly arrogant that he's reminding me of freaking Russa Hayntz. Ugh.

I don't think he is being smug at all and he is nothing like Russell. Russell was nasty and treated others like crap...particularly the women. Plus he had no sense of humour. Rick is laughing at himself. He is aware of the game and how it's played and he is playing it. He actually seems to be enjoying himself because he knows he is on the bottom and has nothing to lose. He isn't being demeaning or nasty and is just going for it. For me, he has made this boring season. If not for him, this would be a total snooze fest.

OMG, Rick is playing the heck out of this game, and he is having fun, and making TC fun..I feed off his energy, it's a shame it doesn't rub off on the lacklustre players he is with... Lauren roll your eyes some more, you boring bore. Gavin, grow a pair, Rick is running circles around you. I totally forget Julie is even there..
I can't believe those idiots actually fell for Ricks obvious bluff. I was totally with Aurora when she called them out on falling for that reverse psychology. Heck , Rick looked like he couldn't believe they fell for that. If Aurora had paired up with Rick, what a dynamic duo! plus maybe she wouldnt look so sour.. I don't know who comes back next week, or how that works, but Rick deserves to win, 100% ..without him, this season would have been super boring, and please, no more edge of extinction!

He obviously having fun with it. He does great sound bites. And he is having fun with it. I do like that he tries to make theater of the tribal council and makes it a live tribal council. Russell was nothing like Rick. He could get very mean and nasty and that is why NO ONE voted him a million dollars even when he managed to get to the final two, two times in a row.

Rick's great sound bites would probably have guaranteed a winning edit whether that is the direction it's going or not.
I wonder if Rick could have asked Jeff to confirm it's a real idol. It looked a little fake to me, something someone could have planted.
The letters were cute this one time. I hope they don't do it again (since future contestants will know why they were asked to write them and they won't be so spontaneous) and I really hope there is no EOE again.

I enjoyed Russell Hantz for his sheer mastery of the game. His first season on Survivor, he played the other contestants like a fiddle. I guess that's why I like Rick Devens so much. He also seems very good at reading human nature and knowing how to get them to do what he wants them to do. He's taking big gambles every week and enjoying the game and I respect him for that!
I do think it's a shame Aurora didn't team up with him. She already knows she's at the bottom of the totem pole in her alliance so why not jump ship and try for better odds?

"he's being such a smug jackass"
Wow...I don't see that at all! I think he's being fun and entertaining. Russell was just an awful person. I see NO similarities between the 2.

Russell was pretty cruel. Rick is a delight. Except for that brief period when Rick got too emotional about things and dug in his heels against David's better advice, he's been very upbeat and rational. I don't think anyone will have much animosity against him, just respect for his game. And in the context of this season, it's more important than ever to put on a show at TC to win over the jury.

I cheered when he won immunity after finding the idol. Now he’s guaranteed final 4 at least... well, 5 with one coming back.

Yes. Rick even admitted that getting voted out impacted his game and he is playing differently in the second half...since his return. He is just enjoying it more and it shows. Personally, I always enjoy seeing players who are enjoying themselves. It is infectious. I have liked him so much more since his return and I am enjoying the season more now because of it. ( I felt the same when Boston Rob played.) I watched AR right after Survivor last night and was cheering when the two most negative people ever were voted out...precisely because they were so miserable. Funny that they are two former Survivor players...Corinne and Eliza.

I love how he made them doubt themselves and still kept the idol for himself, because Julie surely will not help him.

Hantz was an asshat, and that is being kind. Rick is a good guy at heart, and I do not find him sung in the least. Ron was smug (Mr. I am running this game) Rick is just happy he is able to play smart, play like he has nothing to lose, and be honest while still be able to pull out safety. I see him more childlike giddy rather than smug. As for his facial expressions, he is a TV personality, so yeah there is some theatricts there I am sure.. but I don't think they are out of arrogance at all. Heck even I wasn't sold on him in the beginning of the game, now I am laughing along with him as he leads those that are easily lead on the island. He is playing a smart, smart game. They jury for the most part can see it and I do think that he will be rewarded in the end. Hantz was not an honest man, he was mean, nasty, and yeah treated everyone like crap. He was a total misogynist. The two are not at all comparable to me.

Have the invisible cameramen ever been explained? Like the one filming Rick asleep on the sand on the far side of the log while others race around in the background?
How many cameramen have given away someone's position, by tripping or sneezing or just being too darn obvious?

When I said Rick gives me Hantz vibes, I don't mean in the jerkish department, I meant in the smug department. He makes a huge theater out of TC, his confessionals display a lot of arrogance, and that arrogance is also on display in TC, with those smug, holier-than-thou I'm-so-much-better-than-you looks to everyone for being unable to vote him out again, whether they deserve it or not. I won't deny that he's playing a strong game, but I personally detest such levels of arrogance. I will be skipping the finale, as I haven't seen such a blatant winner's edit since Mariano in Redemption Island, and blatant winner edits just make the show boring for me.

I love how Rick’s running around the island, playing a smart game gives him more and more energy, while it wears out everyone else. I wasn’t a fan of his at first, but I am now.

I usually hate the winner's edit and someone who goes on a winning streak but in this case I am OK with it. First time ever for me the entire time I have been watching Survivor. Even now I am thinking of how giddy he was running all over the island, reminding me of a giant Peter Pan and laughing about it.

I loved the letters to themselves. Great little tear fest for me. I agree, not again and EOE not again. The biggest problem I have with the remaining players is they keep making Rick's case for him for the final tribal. Why are you already convincing the jury Rick is the best player? Hard to believe next week is the final. Hoping for Rick to win for all the reasons mentioned.
