Thanks, Bloomers, I noticed that red nosed thing again this week. Now I understand. (Though that side effect is news to me!)
Mike definitely is macho, but his "3 queens, looking for a 4th" speech made me cringe. Maybe he'd be a good bachelor, if Hannah lets him go, maybe not? Hard to say. It would be nice to get a man of color.

It would be nice to get a man of color. I guess my point is that they are not really editing Mike favorably if they want him to be the next Bachelor. He is the one always picking the fight with Luke, and he is as aggressive in his way as Luke is in Luke's way. They remind me of 2 lions in a stand-off. I would be more impressed if Mike tried to use his leadership qualities vocally by trying to talk Luke down sensibly instead of this, "You want a piece of me? All right....Meet me behind the building," approach he is coming across with.

Okay, I have to jump in and give a rant. My husband is British and loves watching rugby on TV. What you saw on this show was NOT real rugby. In the real game players are punished by the referee for a lot of the crap you saw last night. That confrontation between the two Lukes probably would have gotten both of them thrown out. That little part where two players were tugging on each other's shirt would have gotten them both sent to the "sin bin" for committing a foul. I'm sorry, but it just frustrates me. The producers of this show made rugby look like some Wild West free-for-all because they were probably hoping somebody would get hurt for the drama. And that whole spiel at the beginning about "legs dangling' was pure manufactured drama for this show. In all our years of watching rugby, I can on one hand the number of times we saw a player get seriously hurt. And that was because the other player did something illegal like Luke P!
Really enjoyed the date with ? at the beginning. That looked like fun from beginning to end. Overall I'm enjoying Hannah. She seems so down-to-earth, like a sister or best friend you'd want to hang out with.
Holy mackerel, Tyler does look like a young Gregory Peck! And like Peck he's a real gentleman. Man, fast forward this guy to the finale already. He gets my vote. (Tears for how sweetly he treated Hannah when she confessed how down she was.) Very good! That makes me feel much better about rugby. Football is a tough game, but there are rules, violations, and definite penalties. If a player breaks a rule, the whole team is penalized. If the team is penalized because the player was too aggressive ( like Luke was), a good coach pulls him out of the game and makes him sit on the bench. The players hate that worse than anything as they want to be in there playing. This is what I meant by the coach helps control that natural aggression that is so many athletes. Tyler is getting pretty good comments on the internet. He is being compared to the old Hollywood actors such as Gregory Peck, Rock Hudson, James Dean, and a better looking Robert Mitchum.

I was very disappointed with last night’s show. I abhor violence and she stated up front that she wanted to see the guys really go at each other. Then one is injured and one used it as a chance to accost another contestant and the show used it as a drama point! I’m truly shocked and disgusted. I may have to give the rest of this season a pass. The rollerblading derby was rather rough, as well, and previews with the guys in kilts indicate another rough event coming up. In one breath she says she just wants a guy who shows up but in another she seems to want a guy who is somewhat tough and aggressive. The problem with that is you never know where that aggression will be directed, and on a show as short as this one, there's not enough time to feel a guy like that out. Rather scary, if you ask me. I wish she was writing a journal so we could understand more of what she was feeling then as well as what she feels now when she views it all back. Not only just for this situation with the two Lukes, but also for the situation with Scott. I'd love to hear from her what she thought when Scott told the guys he knew beforehand she was interested in interior design because he told her to her face that he didn't realize that.

Sometimes a referee will pull one of the captains over and warn him, "Better rein in your lads or the next time it's a card." That usually gets them to shape up.
I loved how both of the 1:1 dates were so low key. That's how you get to know somebody, just relaxing and talking. And seeing what the other person likes and dislikes. Personally, I wouldn't have particularly liked fishing because I hate the smells. But hey, Tyler and Hannah appeared to enjoy it, so that's all that matters.

I agree on the refs. Occasionally ( not often), the team will get a warning. Usually, the flag is dropped, and they are penalized x amount of yards which means they go backwards. The coach is the one who pulls his player out. If the violation is bad enough for the ref to pull the player out, he is gone for the rest of the game and half of the next one!! On Tyler's date..... Before Tyler's website was shut down, we could see that he is from Jupiter, Fl down the state on the Atlantic coast. He likes scuba diving, so I figured out on the boat like that was not so foreign to him. Now, people in Alabama frequently go to the Gulf part of the top of Florida and south Al which are about 9 miles apart for vacations to the beach. Many folks have been deep sea fishing which Hannah may have been. I went once with several people and had a great time. I did though make sure I had something to take to make sure that I did not get seasick as that can be a bad problem for people who are not used to going that far from the shore.

I like Tyler and was impressed about how he handled the date in terms of being so understanding about Hannah's state of mind. However, I have to wonder how much of a "talk" production had with him before the date to warn him she was feeling down and prompt him how to handle it to lift her spirits and come out looking good.
Interested to see which Luke goes home at the rose ceremony, or if production needs them both to stick around for a while.

Hannah's not that interested in Luke S, and I think he's served his purpose from a production standpoint.
We'll see what happens with Luke P, but I think she's still too into him to send him home.
I've seen her in several interviews this week, and I was surprised that no one asked her how she felt when she watched it and saw that Luke P had out-and-out lied to her about the conversation where Luke S asked him to clear things up.

In interviews she has been asked point blank at this point what she sees in Luke P and why she is keeping him on - given that the red flags have come out so badly.
She is saying clearly:
1. She made an instant strong physical connection with him that reminded her of her long time relationship.
2. She is the the kind of person that sees the good in somebody who has a problem and wants to give them a chance to "fix" ( that is the gist of it) their problem, so she keeps working on him, so to speak.
Now, this is just my take.... I don't think Luke in his real life is "the good-looking bad boy."* However, through natural aggressive tendencies which the producers manipulated to the hilt, and a competitive format that is totally wrong for him, I think he is coming off as the good-looking bad boy. If she is falling for him and the lure of the bad boy image, she can get in an extremely long line of females of the world who have come before her in this world who have done the same thing.
*From what I can tell, there is nothing coming out negative as of yet about LukeP from people who know him either in his hometown or from his school days. If he were as we are seeing him portrayed, I think we would be hearing the same types of things about him in real life.

Hannah is quickly becoming my favorite bachelorette. She comes across as refreshingly real and I hope she finds a good guy. Ready for both of the Lukes to get the ole heave-ho out the door. I hope Tyler C is genuine. It's so hard to tell with all of the production on these shows.

Thanks for the heads up! Just set it to record tomorrow night.
Is it just me, or was that surveillance segment kind of creepy? Where that former Bette spied on the men on the date with hidden cameras. The first time wasn't so bad, since she was looking for a cheater and they clear evidence it was him. But that second time, when it was just random to hear what they had to say, left a bad taste in my mouth. If they do say something out of line, then their character will be revealed a la Luke P eventually.

I think the show got exactly what they wanted out of last week's episode & the Rugby Game. None of this was random. It was all planned, manipulated & egged on: Someone got hurt & ended up in the hospital; Some wimpy pantiwaist decided to act like a tough guy & got called on it; Someone acted like a bully & got aggressive with said pantiwaist; Mr Bully got the others upset & they all ran to whine about him to Hannah, making him look like King Jerk.
That's exactly what the show wants, controversy & drama & a gullible whipping boy. They got it. The show has to have a villain. This season Luke P is the chosen one.
I'm not saying the guy doesn't have issues. Maybe he does and maybe he doesn't, but he's being egged on & thrown to the wolves by Production. I'd be willing to bet that in real life he's probably a normal pretty decent guy. He's unfortunately way too gullible to Production's manipulations & egging on. I feel sorry for the guy. What he's getting in real life right now has got to be tough. All due to the villain that the show has chosen to create.

What he's getting in real life right now has got to be tough. All due to the villain that the show has chosen to create. He strikes me as a pretty insecure guy who compensates by acting over-confident. I think you're right that he's quite gullible and easily manipulated by production, which may be why he seems so confused when things go down exactly the opposite of how he expected them to. He obviously has some character flaws like lying when he's been backed into a corner (or things just aren't going his way), and he's more aggressive than I like when in competitive situations, but I don't think he's a bad person. And I think that aggressiveness is actually something that Hannah seems to like. (I don't think she likes poor sportsmanship, but she seems like she would like seeing her man be able to take people down in football or rugby.) That they took her clear front-runner, a front-runner by such a huge margin that there would have been no show if things continued in that direction, and turned him into the villain is pretty clear evidence that this show isn't primarily about the lead finding love. If it were, production wouldn't have done everything in their power to drive a wedge between Hannah and Luke P and make her question her feelings for him. It's entirely possible that he was acting cocky and possessive all on his own and that would have eventually gotten on her nerves, anyway, but I'm pretty sure that production reinforced that behavior. As I said before, I think that's a big reason why he often seems so confused when the behavior they've been suggesting or encouraging gets the exact opposite effect from what he's expecting. I agree that he's probably nowhere near as bad as this in real life, and it is sad that he's having to live with the fallout of the exaggerated version of himself that's on TV.

It came out that in the early seasons there were times when the producers tried to push the lead into going with the contestant THEY wanted. This may have been just such a case. Not necessarily, but a case could be made. She is all into Luke P, and he is easily manipulated into being their bad boy by exploiting his own tendencies. Now consider what happened last season with Colton....and Cassie. Chris Harrison can say what he wants to, but I am hard pressed to believe at all that is how they wanted that season to go down. They watched their carefully orchestrated plan completely derail right in front of their eyes, and there was nothing they could do about it. Cassie was going home, and Colton was NOT going to give either one of the other girls a chance. He was not even go to finish out his season. Before Colton, Becca was bent on Garrett who had gotten swept up in that social media mess. I firmly believe Hannah decided on night 1 when she gave LukeP the FIR that he was the front runner and told the producers that night when they asked for the top 4 and 6-8 so that they could schedule dates which they have to do in advance. Some of the old time sleuths ( friends of the producers) saw the producers' storyboard ( which the contestants do not see), and this is where this info is coming from. I am not at all sure that HE was their idea of an F1 for Hannah. First, without him, there was very little drama in that group, and 2nd left without manipulation their story would be rather boring, I think. This is to make that case which may be completely untrue.

Whatever the case, I'm already sick of the Luke P&S story line, and from all the promos this week, it looks like tonight is more of the same. I won't mind falling asleep during a commercial and coming back here tomorrow for a moment to see what happened. I hope they're both gone, but I doubt we'll be that lucky.

It was clear to me, even though they showed very little of Cassie and Colton's deeper moments of connection, that they had manipulated Cassie into thinking that breaking up was the right thing to do, and their only motive was to reinforce the "I'm afraid of falling in love and getting rejected" storyline that they had decided to create for Colton. When Colton went rogue, it was also clear that he knew exactly what they had done and felt super betrayed and was having none of it, and I say good for him! I was glad that he stood up to them and refused to play along.

"I hope they're both gone." - AlwaysVeg The show ended last night with her telling LukeP she could not give him the rose on their 1-1, and yet we did not see her send him home. As someone else stated and I was reminded, this has been done before with Bachelorette Ali and Kasey who ended up going home I believe on a 2-1? That was an unhappy 1-1 date. In fact, it was a miserable date, and I could tell she is getting fed up. However, this next part is NOT a spoiler. These pics were all over the internet because we viewers are now a social media group of folks that share stuff. When they were filming, people in his hometown caught sight of the ABC film crew ( hard to hide something like that), saw the two of them together, recognized their hometown boy, Hannah from last season, and began posting pictures with the guess that he had made Hometowns on the Bachelorette. How he got there from last night beats me. Now....THIS is pure speculation on my part, but it makes sense, too, so others think so as well. She blows up. The roof comes off the top at somebody. We don't see that person, but we have seen the preview enough to know that person is gone. I think it is LukeP.

There's been something about Hannah that has felt very familiar. I finally figured it out!
During dinner on her one-on-one date with Jed she has her hair parted differently which gives her an uncanny resemblance to Britt N from Chris Soules season. And what is even more striking is how they make the same facial expressions!
