One Elle of a Day - The designers arrive at a new workspace to unpack and learn their final challenge. Nina Garcia meets them at the Elle Magazine offices and the designers are sent spiraling when tasked with a surprise 11th look. Only three will move on to the finale.
Enjoy the show!

Poor Bishme. I wish him much success. Didn't the top four used to present at the final show anyway, with just the top three in line for the prize? Maybe he can get another deal. After one season, I'm still not convinced that Elaine and Brandon are good judges. If Christian remains a mentor, it may be nice for him to speak with the judges each week and have a save.

Admittedly, Bishme deserved to be voted off for the outfit he created tonight. But the judges did say it wasn't about just tonight's outfit, but the body of work.
That being said, I have heard Nina say many times there are things that Bishme made that she would love to wear. I don't recall her or anyone saying anything in Hester's collections they wanted to wear, but.... Nina continues to say how wonderful Hester's clothes are. Talk about trying too hard. Hester's looks are costume-y and childish. That white outfit that first walked out tonight looked dreadful on that model (wrong body type), and she looked like an adult dressed in an 8 year olds clothes, with bows in her hair, knee socks and all. All she needed was a lollypop to complete the look. The red dress made for tonight was Christian's creation. It was HE who told her to go red, to go separates, to do the bra, and then to add the bra back when she took it away.
I have liked Garo's creations in the past, but tonight was a disappointment. I did like the sequin and leather dress; it was fitted, yet loose in the back. Really great looking on that model.
IMO, Sebastian has already won this. His clothes are a step above all the others; sophisticated, elegant, different, complicated while being simple in line, with exquisite technique. Most of all, wearable. Many women would LOVE to wear his clothes. If he DOESN'T win this, there is something seriously wrong.

Hester's collection reminds me of the movie "Clueless".

Bishme's dress was the worst dress ever to come down the PR runway. We may have seen almost as bad early in previous seasons...but never in the finals.
It was almost like he was self-destructive, having just 2 done after 2 months when CS visited and coming back to NY with only 8 looks complete.

I have been a big fan of Bishme from the beginning but somehow, in the 5 months from the last episode he simply lost it. I feel terrible for him but, as one judge said (can't remember who), it's hard to champion someone who has given up on themselves.

Agree with what everyone has said. I was pulling for Bishme and was hoping he would make it in over Hester. Maybe this is for the best to give himself time to grieve about his sister's situation versus trying to pull together more looks for a runway. I think Bishme is going to have a fabulous career. I'll look for Hester's looks at H&M.

Until the last minute, I thought that the judges would give all 4 of them a pass to the finale.
Is it just me, or did Bishme look like he had gained a bit of weight in the 5 months they were away from filming?
Also, the model who wore Hester's new, red fur outfit had the scariest looking legs I have every seen. The right one was spooky skinny, and the left one was a bit less so. Really disturbing.

I know it is politically incorrect, but I am not a fan of the heavier girls on the runway. Additionally, there are some girls who really do not work it or even walk well for a model. It is surprising that they do not get a better quality model for a televised show featuring fashion.

Was his sister diagnosed right around the time the last episode was filmed? Because you're exactly right. When Christian came to visit, he was very worried. Bishme had only completed two outfits in the two months since he had left NY. Only 2? And it was Christian who was trying to light a fire under to get him to make another outfit. Bishme just basically wanted to sit in a corner and do nothing. It's amazing he had 8 looks when he came back. Look, I don't mean to sound horrible. I truly do feel sorry for him. But just giving up is not going to help his sister get better. He talked about how supportive she was, how she bought him his first sewing machine. Well, I'm sure she would have wanted him to make the finale and win!
Justmythoughts:
Brilliant point. Yes, I will reluctantly concede that Hester should have gone through since Bishme and Garo sent terrible looks out. However, nothing in Hester's look was original. If she had had her druthers she would have sent that hideous white thing out. I just don't get it. Why does Nina think Hester's clothes are the greatest thing since sliced bread? As I've said, I work in a high school. No girl dresses like this. She'd be laughed out of school. The only possible girls who would wear this crud are ones who think they're the next Lady Gaga.

And, provence, I noticed the weight gain too.

I could not understand what happened to his new fabric. Why ever did he have to piece together sparkly stuff from previous dresses....It was like the order was to use up whatever is in your scrap bag with nothing new to be bought.

Sebastian's mini-collection was amazing. It was cohesive, wearable, and absolutely beautiful. If Sebastian doesn't win, I'm going to be so disappointed. He does great work. His designs are architectural, interesting and detailed. He doesn't shy away from trying something difficult and time-consuming. I loved all 3 pieces of his mini-collection. Plus, he's such a humble, decent person. I would love to see him win.
I don't know what happened to Garo in those five months they were off, but his 3-piece mini-collection was truly blah. I normally love what Garo does, but I didn't really care for what I saw this episode. The black leather garment was okay, but it didn't wow me. I hope his fashion show ensemble isn't more of the same.
Hester's aesthetic has never been 'fashion' to me. She'd be an excellent designer for children's wear. Minus the pasties and outer bras, I think that kids would love her clothes. Still, I thought in this particular episode, she did a better job than Bishme.
I felt sorry for Bishme being so upset over the news of his sister's health, and especially at such a crucial moment in his career, but it was right to send him home. He needs time to focus on family, and when he's ready, he'll become an amazing designer.

Right? I was so disappointed in his work, after that incredible umbrella dress??? What the hell was he doing in that cabin?
I love Hester, and I loved the Rococo cherub piece we got a look at. I know I'm in the minority, but I find her work fun and surprising. I also like her as a person. Ugh, that was so horrible to watch that sewing machine incident. I was shaken.
Bishme, or as I like to call him 'Sir Bish' is incredible to have gone so far without any training. I love him.

I think Sebastian and Hester are genius in their own ways. Christian and Hester should have a designer genius baby because she reminds me of him in so many ways. I love how this process has made her so confident and not second guessing herself. I think she will be HUGE after this with dressing people like Katy Perry. Her style is so artistic and wonky and I love it. Sebastian on the other hand is so elegant and I LOVED those stripes. He stood out from the start with SUPERIOR taste level. I think they will bring Bishme back in another season once things settle down with his personal life. I felt bad for him, but his brain is not in his work right now.

I was mad at Christian for helping Hester so much.Hester clothes are clownish - and one of the outfits looked like a sexualized dress for a 5 year old and actually made me a bit queasy,
I too thought Garo's collection was pretty awful and wondered if they would give Bishme a break given his personal issues and that his other designs were good. Garo could have easily gone home along with Hester IMO
Sebastian's stuff was fabulous!
As for Bishme giving up - he was grieving the death of a family member and his sister. I suspect he was suffering with a clinical depression - weeping and all. His behaviour was very understandable. He hasn't given up on himself - he is grieving.
