Cliff Hogg IIIBig Brother 21 HouseguestAge: 53 Hometown: Houston, Texas Current City: Houston, Texas Occupation: Petroleum Engineer Three adjectives that describe you: Funny, stubborn, and caring. Favorite Activities: Watersports (fishing, jet skiing, swimming, scuba), gardening (I grow satsumas, musca dine grapes, avocados, and will also be growing Loofahs this year), and politics (I love to discuss and debate political topics and concepts in the right environment). What do you think will be the most difficult part about living inside the Big Brother house? The lack of communication with the outside world. Sitting in that house and not knowing what is going on with family, the country, my sports teams, etc. will be frustrating. The lack of privacy will be tough at first, but I think I’ll get used to that rather quickly. Which past Big Brother cast member did you like most? I like the logical, strategic play from people such as Derrick, Vanessa, or Dan. But Vanessa whined too much when she thought the chips were against her. My favorite of all time has to be Derrick. Do you have a strategy for winning the game? Present myself as the loyal soldier to one or more strong players while creating enough chaos or paranoia to have people pointing fingers and targeting each other. People WILL assume that I am a loyal kind of guy because that is how I live my life in the real world. I will use that to my advantage and betray as necessary in the end game to get me to the finale! My life’s motto is… Two mottos: “Never let others tell you what you can or can’t do” and “Never be afraid to stand up for what you believe in!” What would you take into the house and why?My cowboy hat and boots – They represent so much about where I am from and who I am. Plenty of Aggie clothing – People from Texas are proud…. but Aggies take it up another notch and I love to brag! My wedding ring and Aggie ring – The two items that symbolize some of my most proud involvements. Meet the Cast of Big Brother - CBS.com

Love the name. But honestly BB...please stop throwing one random old guy in the mix. Poor thing. He's doomed from the get go.

He was pretty funny/goofy in his interview. I hope somehow he sticks around...

However, I want him to last long enough to tell me how you grow loofahs. I thought they were harvested from the sea as natural sponges.

Listening to him now and loving his realization that he will be the "old guy" target first week and try to work around it. He's watched since season 8 and replayed each show in his head to find what works and how he would do it better. I like the way he speaks but I still want to find out about loofahs.

He seems really nice, I hope he sticks around for a while. But we'll see if the others treat him like kryptonite or not.

He might go far if he comes in like Donny or Chicken George: approachable, funny, caring and friendly, someone they can trust.
He'll get an early boot if he comes in acting like he's wiser than the rest of them because of his age. It may be true, but he'll need to keep that to himself. In a house full of millennials, he's going to need those kids to like him if he wants to stick around.

Why does BB always set up the older players? Grrr. Hope he does well. He’s my age. I hated typing “older” just now. 🤣

he's an RHAP listener and his daughter is a patron so I'm hoping he can figure out a way to last a while

I had a feeling just by the name he was from Texas, & then when I saw the photo, there was no question, lol. Seems pretty likable. Too bad he's an A & M alumni rather than UT (j/k...sort of ) even Texas Tech would be OK, lol I love that he's an actual fan of the show! So far, I like him.

Current thoughts:
I don't mind if Cliff wins. I was initially disappointed when he failed to take advantage of his opportunity to get rid of Christie during his HOH. That would have been an epic move. Still, Cliff has proven to be a pretty strong player, and I do appreciate him being straight forward with Kat in his "Because I'm on the block" response when she questioned his motives.

I like Cliff, too. I respected the way he stuck to his guns with Kat about doing what he had to do for his game. She would have done the same in that position.

I wouldn't mind if The Hogfather wins. He's proving himself to be an upstanding player who doesn't have to be offensive, slimey, or backstabby in the worse kind of way.
