Do they finish in Detroit? For some reason, I thought the race finished in a different city. ? Right now, it's so close between 1st and 2nd. Very exciting!! You were right! I can't believe they had to go to Fort Wayne. That's like a two and a half hour drive to get to the pit stop. That would be so nerve-wracking! I Googled it, and there's an actual fort right in Detroit, called Fort Wayne. They did not have to go to Indiana, so that must be how I got mixed up! hahaha

It’s only 12 min drive, 5.2 miles from downtown Detroit. You are thinking of Fort Wayne, IN. But, this is within City of Detroit.

I was just reading the Wikipedia page for this season, and found this interesting:
On July 3, 2018, the show concluded in Detroit, which featured a performance of The White Stripes single "Seven Nation Army" that was originally planned to be set on Belle Isle Park. However, the permit was denied as the Michigan Department of Natural Resources had not been informed about the large gathering of musicians needed for filming.
It also stated Christie and Colin each did 6 road blocks, which a friend was wondering, and why I was looking at the wiki. Someone thought she did fewer than he did, but it was equal.
There was another Head-to-Head on the 4th leg of the race, in Vietnam, too, which wasn't aired. According to the wiki page:
At Tầm Vu Park, teams encountered a Head-to-Head, which went unaired during the episode. According to Nicole & Victor and Corinne & Eliza, two teams had to compete against each other in a game of badminton. The team that won the Head-to-Head could check-in at the nearby Pit Stop, while the team that lost the Head-to-Head had to wait for the next team. The team that lost the final Head-to-Head was eliminated from the Race.

I was really rooting for Colin and Christie to win, although I would not have minded if Tyler and Korey won. Colin has matured so much, and the two of them together are generally very sweet with each other, they obviously love each other a great deal. It's nice that they came back after 15 years and 2 kids and still managed to kill the challenges.
I didn't want the Afganimals to win, but I felt bad for Leo struggling so much. He must never have had any kind of combination lock/locker to go to zero between each number.
I love this show so much. Even though it was the last leg I was waiting for Phil to say, "Next time on The Amazing Race". What a letdown when he didn't!

I had Googled it and they have an Old Fort Wayne in Fort Wayne, so I thought it was there! See, I would have been one of those idiot racers who went to Indiana and lost! That makes me wonder though, how far behind were the Afghanimals, since they had to complete all the tasks? Some of them must have been finished after the other teams checked in? Or did the other teams take that long at the music task that they almost caught up?

I wondered that too, Sk8leigh. It looked so much later when they arrived at the finish line, that I'd have thought they'd tell the Afghanimals to just stop and come in, but it looked like they did the whole drum challenge. I wish they'd disclose that information!

I think the Afghanimals were at least 40 minutes behind the others when they finished the safe-opening challenge. Maybe more. It would be nice to know exactly how far behind they were.

I'm so happy that Colin and Christie won! I actually liked them the first time they were on the race, despite Colin's temper, because they were go-getters. He sure has matured. Prior to the end, I felt like Colin did all the heavy lifting and Christie did nothing for their team but at the drum-build challenge, I could see that he was getting impatient and she talked him down so he could focus and then I could see her contribution to their team effort. They really deserved this win.
I'm glad the Afghanimals came in a distant third. I hope to never see them again. Sorry, but they never have grown on me.

I don't need to see Nicole and Victor again ..although my love for Victor could overcome that feeling. Did his hair grow during this race?LOL I kept wondering what a Victor/Colin team would look like.. I never get tired of Korey and Tyler, ask them back as many times as you wish AR..

Before the discussion of this season is totally over, something I kept forgetting to post...Did anyone else notice, in the episode in Switzerland, after they did the bungee jump thing and landed on the netting, got the clue, and then went off in a helicopter...when Colin landed in the helicopter, he rolled off onto the ground and popped up like he was looking through gun sights, like he was a soldier of super-spy?? It was hilarious!

Well done Colin and Christie. I'm more thrilled for Colin, boy did he whip through challenges. Nasty BB team rolling their eyes at the end. Korey and Tyler made me tear up. Well done guys.. AR Canada starts July 2 and!! Which BB team was rolling their eyes at the end? All I saw were Eliza and Corrine being sore losers.

Just finished watching the finale. So cool! Exciting (and difficult) competitions. Going face first down a building?!?! Yikes! Putting the drums together would have been difficult considering the attention to detail. Great ending to a great season. Love TAR. Miss this show already.

Yes, the finale show was so satisfying with breath holding moments and shaking fist frustration. I love how the viewer emotions can be involved - at least mine are. I wouldn't mind seeing the top 4 run again - yes, even the Afganimals.

Yeah as you are involved over with the emotions. Colin had matured it seems. Being a husband and father will do that. Despite his temper. Last time when they were last on, Christie really did nothing but squat and Colin did all the work. That changed over that after their initial season.

Just finished watching the finale. I put it off for so long as I really did not want to see the Afganimals win and am so glad they did not.
That was an incredibly hard two final legs and I luv'ed it during the London leg that all the teams still had a challenge to do before they could check into the Pit Stop. That I would not mind seeing again, thought it was a great idea.
Eliza - Survivor - Eye Roller - hope she sprained her eyes doing that.
Felt kinda bad for Leo trying to open the safe. I got the impression he was doing 5 turns and then turning an extra time to the number, and doing that for each number. It was turning 4 times counterclockwise and on the fifth turn go to the first number. Leo I like but Jamal is really vindictive and that is why I don't like this team and was so happy to see them not win.

OIW he'd spin it 5 times, stop on the correct number, but then God to zero before starting the next sequence of spinning counter-clockwise 4 times and stopping on the second number.

I think that, for a while, Leo might have been going clockwise when he was supposed to be going counter-clockwise. He made some comment about not being sure if the clock direction was when you're facing the safe or from the safe's perspective.

Last time when they were last on, Christie really did nothing but squat and Colin did all the work. That changed over that after their initial season. I think by that point the producers started to make each team do an equal amount of challenges/roadblocks/whatever they are called. It was so unfair when a team would have one very physically gifted person (usually male) and they did all the challenges. I remember and I think this was also season 5 there was a pair of older ladies and they had to do this climb up a rope attached to a bridge which was incredibly hard for the ladies but the young male of a male/female team just zipped up the rope. I was yelling at the tv screen as I was rooting for the older ladies and this was the leg to get into the finale.
