Avengers: Endgame
PG-13 2019 ‧ Fantasy/Sci-fi ‧ 3h 2m
per Google:
I liked part 1 of this film much better than part 2. 95% of the film felt like build up to the finale battle and that final battle seemed too short, over too quickly. Just felt let down a bit with this film.
Also with half the population gone I absolutely do not believe that many people missing would make it seem as if the world is empty. Current world population is at 7.2 billion at half that there is still overpopulation, pollution, destroying vital resources, deforestation, and mass extinction of wildlife. So for 5 years Mother Earth had a break and then humanity came back. Seriously, I don't think most people would have noticed either way.

I'm waiting for the August streaming release...less expensive than a DVD these days. Anyway, I've been running into spoilers and don't know if I want to see a fat Thor wallowing in beer.

Second viewing; it dropped this morning. I couldn't figure out why a finger snap in a different time period would undo the ashes, but then early in the film an aside was made by Natasha like a snap to bring them back, and I guess in this universe that makes as much sense as anything.
Tony meeting his father pre-fatherhood was poignant as were other scenes and one downright gaspy when Natasha sacrificed herself. She is dead, dead in any timeline so she won't come back. Only those who went to ash will return. Wow, this is convoluted, but I liked it.
ETA: Oh, if you bought the digital or DVD with bonus material, take the time to watch it. Besides the character and movie development, there are all of Stan Lee's scenes with his comments. Then once past the deleted scenes and outtakes, One of the directors and one of the writers comment on a full run through of the movie. You see it again but from their perspective. Fascinating.

We have it for this weekend. Even though we saw it when it came out, we will watch it again. and I know we will watch every second of the bonus material!
