Premiere - A group of single 'Islanders' come together at a stunning villa in Fiji, ready to embark on a summer of love, friendship and relationships. Challenges abound, with new arrivals, dramatic twists, and cash prizes.
I'm not sure this is a show I'll stick with, but for now I'm giving it a chance. If it gets too sleazy, I'm out!
The girls arrive first, and most seem okay. Very pretty. The only one that bugged me is Mallory, whose first thing she said to the other girls is "I can't wait to meet the boys." Alexandra seems mature and nice. She likes funny people! Alana has never been in a relationship, only a situationship.
They couple up right away (I've never seen the UK version, so it's all new to me), with the guys coming one at a time and choosing a girl. The girls can step up to indicate they're interested in the guy. The poor first guy gets no one to step up for him, so he chooses one of the girls and it's really awkward. Especially when she steps up for a different guy later!
Then after they're all matched up, one more girl comes in. She'll get a chance to steal one of the guys in a day. Right away, the guys and girls separate and go talk on their own.
The audience gets to vote on something too, so this is happening in "real time" apparently?
