I am a fan but odds are 3/5 there aren’t many others. Ya gotta be pulling for Bob Baffert and Justified next week.

Absolutely I'm a fan.  I'm the one who always posted on the Big 3 in the old FORT. I'm looking forward to the Belmont next Saturday, June 9. I've watched the first 2 legs of the Triple Crown. We have another possible Triple Crown winner this year. Justified had 2 good clean wins in the Kentucky Derby & the Preakness, so the chances are decent. In cases like this one, I root for the favorite. Unless there is some drastic reason not to. I was hoping someone else was looking forward to this. |

I was going to be gone, so I taped it & just watched it. That was great to watch. I couldn't stop staring at Justify. He's an absolutely beautiful horse. I love his color. Mike Smith is the oldest jockey to ever win a Triple Crown. He's 52. Always nice to hear something like that. Don't discount the older ones. We're better.
After all those years without a Triple Crown winner, now we have 2 within just a few years.

Used to like when ABC Sports carried it. Really 13th winner of in the Triple Crown thing since 1919 I heard on the TV.

I recorded it to watch later. Justify is a beautiful animal to watch run. He's only the second triple crown winner to win it undefeated.
I thought it was interesting how they mentioned how the triple crown winners tend to go in spurts. They had several in the '30's and '40's, then a dry spell, then a few (three?) in the '70's, then a dry spell, and now two again in three years time.

It's so weird. I grew up in the shadow of Belmont Racetrack. Literally. Sitting in class, the stables were right across the street. In the warmer months of May and June with the high school classroom windows open, the smell of manure was overwhelming. Still, we could watch the stable hands bringing the horses to and fro and that was pretty cool. At Belmont Racetrack, home of the Belmont Stakes, you can enjoy a lovely breakfast and watch the thoroughbreds train. However, I have been to the track only once to bet, many moons ago. As with casinos, lotteries, off-track betting parlors and the like, I DON'T like to lose money.
Congrats to Justify, his trainer, jockey and owner!!!!
