Prodigal son was very good. I'm not sure everyone will like it, but I love a profiler. We'll tune in again

I really like Carol’s Second chance. Loved the Middle so loved the main character, loved they mentioned about if you can’t make you will be a dentist .
The Unicorn was ok as well so will see how it goes.
Don’t like sci fi so I skipped that one. Have Rise All on my PVR to watch so many shows on at the same time.
Almost forgot Perfect Harmony. Didn’t think I would like it but I did. Even though I kept thinking of the main character on Handmaiden...lol
I’m surprised how many new shows I like this year, one I was looking forward to, Bob Hearts ...I didn’t like.

Okay, I’m watching Evil now and I don’t think I can handle it. Too creepy. I definitely shouldn’t have watched it right before going to bed! Too creepy? I didn't watch because I thought it would be silly...now I'll have to put it on my watch list. Prodigal Son was really good, Tom Payne is great as the son (but he'll always be TWD's Jesus to me, too ). Definitely sticking with this show. Well, keep in mind that I'm a total lightweight. I know you love scary stuff, so maybe you'll think it's not so bad. The gorgeousness of Mike Colter kept me watching (I'm still in mourning over Luke Cage). Michael Emerson is creepy great casting too. I'm going to keep watching, but probably not at midnight, right before I go to bed!
I checked out Perfect Harmony, mainly for Geno Segers, who was absolutely terrifying and great as Chayton Littlestone in Banshee. Fun to see him play a character that I think is closer to his personality. I mean, I don't think Geno is a brutal murderer The show was cute, but I'm not much of a half hour comedy fan, so we'll see if I stick with it. At this point, the only two comedies on my DVR list are The Good Place, which I LOVE, and Single Parents.

Okay, I’m watching Evil now and I don’t think I can handle it. Too creepy. I definitely shouldn’t have watched it right before going to bed! Me either! I watched about 3/4 of the pilot and took it off my DVR. It has too much sadistic horror in it for me. I LOVE Stumptown, though I still see Colby Smulders as Maria Hill. That will pass as this character takes hold. The unexpected humor really shines through, and her brother is adorable. Emergence is intriguing, but it feels more science experiment gone awry than alien spaceship landing. That scene where she was either submerged or emerging from a birthing bath and the element was imbedded under her ear took me in that direction. \ While Evil was too much for me, I liked Prodigal Son. It looks as though it will play out like an episodic Silence of the Lambs.

Ariel, I ran through it again, because others had noticed so much more..The main character seems normal, right? Or maybe not! her children were wearing similar plaid school uniforms in first scene, so probably in Catholic school. While she tells her kid it’s student loan debt the collection agency is calling about, we don’t really know... The fridge and a mini fridge were full of Margarita's, plus her house, directly under the railway? All is not what it seems, I think it has potential... I liked George!..lol

I really liked Evil and it is sooo good to see Mike Colter. Holy wow he is so sexy! It reminds me in a way of God Friended Me (a show I love) where you wonder if it is spiritual or humanly manufactured. But where is this woman living in a house under the Manhattan bridge? It's like people who write these shows never even visit NYC. I also liked the mom the little I saw of her.
I also liked Emergence. I love that actress. And Mr. Crab is in it!! At first I thought it was her husband but glad it's the dad. Also the actor who played the surgeon in Scrubs plays the dad. And it takes place on Long Island...but oddly, no one has a Long Island accent. I also like the two girls.
Since I love Blackish, I saw Mixedish and the actor from The Passage is in it...found out he was Zack Morrison on Saved by the Bell. I don't know why I didn't know that when I watched The Passage. I really liked it too, very thoughtful on race as Blackish is.
Poop. I didn't like Prodigal Son. The dialogue was sometimes super silly to me (I'm the Surgeon's Son!) and found the main character's acting over the top. I love the actress who played the First Lady in Scandal and just adore Micheal Sheen, but this would be a pass for me. I mean, cops always have partners when they check out a call!

Aww, that's too bad. I liked it, Although, if I had to chose between this and Evil, Evil wins, so to speak.lol I think these shows need a couple of weeks to really see what they are like I didn't care for Stumptown, it reminded me of another show.

I watched the premiere of Emergence and thought it was just okay. I like the lead actress fine on Good Girls, but I didn't really buy her as a police chief and didn't see any chemistry between her and Donald Faison as her ex-husband. She just felt too lightweight in the role. I'm also kind of over the "magical child" cliche and shows with plane crashes....and evil scientists (which feels like that might be the way this one is going).
I thought both Prodigal Son and Evil were well done, but I'm on a week-by-week plan with Evil. If it continues to freak me out too much (the character that kept coming to her in her dreams almost pushed me over the edge), I'll drop it.
I'm all on board with Prodigal Son. My only complaint is that they're not letting Michael Sheen and Tom Payne use their British accents. Why do American networks do that? It's not like either of them have super thick brogues or something.
So far, I haven't been bowled over by any of the new series this year. Usually there's at least one where, part-way through the pilot episode I'm all in. Last season it was A Million Little Things.
I guess having fewer shows I like leaves me more time to read and work in the studio!

Being gone the first 2 weeks of the new TV season is kind of a bummer. I missed a lot, but hope to see this week's episodes. I did manage to get near a TV for a few of them or saw reruns of the pilots/premiers this weekend.
Emergence was quite good. It left me wanting to see more. I liked the characters & mystery of the storyline. However, it left me feeling that I'd seen it all before. Maybe that's because of the massive amounts of promos we were subjected to before it aired, or maybe it's just a lot like other shows from the last few years. Anyhow, I'll be watching & hoping it stays good.
Carol's Second Act was another one I liked a lot. I don't watch many half hour comedies, but I'll be watching this one.
Stumptown was a disappointment. I wanted to like this one, since it featured a strong female lead, but I felt they went too far & made her unlikable. Kind of a cheap classless clod. I will keep watching for at least another week or so, hoping they mellow her out a bit or show a likable side to her.
I also missed the Season Premiers of a few shows I already like: The Connors; This Is Us; The Good Place; Dancing With The stars; and others.

I also liked Perfect Harmony, I really love the grumpy main character and Anna Camp. I like the set up of underdog and big mega-church.
I watched Sunnyside because it's a great neighborhood in Queens and I like Kal Penn. Meh, I'd give it another try but he is really unlikable. It's probably me being a Social Worker (in training) but it makes me sad that he had four years in City Council and didn't do a thing to help is community.

Evil - Not sure how I missed a preview or article about this show because I knew within minutes it had Michelle and Robert King written all over it. Mike Colter was a nice surprise. It hooked me instantly so I'm in for episode 2. Prodigal Son – Tuned in for Michael Sheen and serial killers. The first two copycat cases were interesting but the real story here is Bright’s past. I’m ready for that to unravel! Stumptown – Great cast! If every episode is this enjoyable I think I’ll be watching. Carol’s Second Act – I’m in if every episode is this funny! The Unicorn – Wish it was funnier. I’ll watch episode 2 but I probably won’t stick with it. Sunnyside and Perfect Harmony – Couldn’t make it through. Won’t be watching.

I caught up on the first two episodes of Evil - I like it! The two leads have great chemistry, and the show does well at presenting something "supernatural," debunking it, but leaving just a little bit of doubt there that maybe something weird IS going on... I didn't think stupid CBS could do a creepy show well, but they have so far (I'll forever be salty about what CBS did to us at FORT ).

Once he (ghost) started cutting Kristen's fingers off .... that was it .... while I love me some Mike Colter .... I am taking a pass on this because it is definitely EVIL!!! I loved STUMPTOWN......oh that was so good. The Dex (Cobie) gives me a Jessica Jones feel and I love that!!! So much action!!!

There was a good scary show on CBS in the 90's with Gary Cole and Lucas Black called American Gothic. It only lasted a season or two though. Well at least it seemed scary to me at the time. lol I wasn't that much older than Lucas Black's character when it aired.

I've watched a few more new shows now & have a few new assessments:
Bob Hearts Abishola - It's not the greatest thing ever, but I like it. Nice characters, nice story, nice acting. I guess the word to describe it is Nice. Not great, but nice. A pleasant watch, but it wouldn't kill me to miss it. For now I'll continue to record & watch.
Emergence - Still like it a lot. Will keep watching. I finally figured out why I've been feeling like I've seen this story before. It just seems so similar to that show about the airplane that disappeared for 5 years & then came back, with the passengers not aged at all. This show has exactly the same feel about it. What ever happened to that show anyhow?
Nancy Drew - I really wanted to like this, since I read tons of Nancy Drew Mysteries when I was young. I was somewhat disappointed in it. It seems like so many other CW shows, geared to teens/preteens. I'm not one. That plus the fact that the episodes aren't even remotely self inclusive. I like an ongoing story, but would like the episodes to somewhat wrap up after the hour is up. I'll give it 1 or 2 more watches then decide.
Stumptown - My opinion isn't improving. I also really wanted to like this one, which is the only reason I've continued to watch. 1 or 2 more watches before I give up.
The Unicorn - Once again, it's just not great, but it's an OK watch. I'll keep record & watching, but not sure my interest will continue. I do like the characters a lot.
Carol's Second Act - This one I like a lot. Definitely will continue with this one. Seeing that I'm not home on Thursdays, I record it & The Unicorn gets tailgated in with it.

I watched Nancy Drew, but it was just sort of "meh" for me. It a little boring and the actress playing Nancy didn't "pop." I also didn't like how the show was so grey, visually. I did enjoy the little nod to the previous ND series by having Pamela Sue Martin guest star. I'll bet Parker Stevenson and Shawn Cassidy (aka the Hardy Boys) don't look that good! So far, the only new show I really love is Stumptown. Great cast, snappy writing, and I already feel like I know the characters. I gave Perfect Harmony three weeks, but just deleted it from my DVR. I like the cast, but the show is just bad. I also stopped watching Emergence. I actually never put it on my DVR and then forgot it was a show that I'd watched one time. That seems like a sign I'm still enjoying All Rise, Evil and Prodigal Son.

I think my favorite is All Rise. I'm really enjoying the main character. I also love the public defender and the bailiff.
I didn't catch the last episode of Evil but that is my second favorite.
