How is Elizabeth going to explain herself if the vote ends up obvious that there was one vote missing? The next time someone goes to Rob/Sandra's island they're going to know she was lying too. I wonder how that will play out? It probably depends on who it is that goes. Well the next time someone goes it'll be from the other tribe, so at least it should be several days before she's found out.

I missed the very end. What did Ronnie have to say about his blindside?

I wonder what was behind door number 2. I'm also glad they have a lot of people who look normal and don't just have only one token older person. I'm glad Elaine was able to stay. I liked her better than Ronnie.

I am glad Elaine didn't get voted out... her I REALLY like. She is real, herself, and likeable. Not sorry to see Ronnie go.
LOVE seeing Sandra, the F (I can only assume it was an F) No, I'd vote you was beautiful.
Rob, sigh, I can't stand him. Already it feels like he is reading off cue cards. Not sure I can take a whole season of it. In fact, a lot of it feels like bad actors trying to follow a script. I hope that changes fast.

I think Rob really loves this game, he doesn't need any cue cards. He was right, she shouldn't have tried to beat him at fire making, also right, was telling her to go with her gut. Now I want to see, if she uses their advice. I'm not a Sandra fan, never have been, but again, she loves and knows this game.

So far, I am loving this new twist. And the casting for this season, so far, seems to be excellent. The women this season seem to have more personality than a lot of the women in previous seasons.
I missed the first 15 minutes. I know they weren't greeted by Jeff and apparently they did not have fire. What did they have to eat? Just coconuts? And rice they couldn't cook? Would someone fill me in, please?

Elizabeth had almost no chance at all against Rob, but losing a vote at this stage wasn't a big deal so perhaps worth the gamble. But she should have asked so many more questions (could have been edited out). It was a huge mistake to make that blatant a lie about IofI. Soon enough she'll be pegged as untrustworthy. She could have revealed a little of it.
I don't buy that Sandra and Rob know so much more than anyone else who has ever played. As someone mentioned, Rob had cue cards, LOL.

So what is happening with ew.com? One of my joys of Survivor is Dalton Ross' recaps and interviews, in spite of all the ads. It appears to be a subscription site now? Anyone know?

Glad to see Ronnie gone. He was ready to kill the good vibes of his tribe on Day 1, and that would’ve made the season a real drag.

Who was the young guy, who helped the winning team, to get up to build the village, or huts. He was pulling them up, I liked him. I think it was Jack. After watching another Jack, this one doesn't have @ss after his name,

I would love any game that let me keep coming back till I finally won it too. I was only making a point that he can't remember his lines and he speaks as if he is reading is all.

I thought Sandra was better at teaching Elizabeth how to make fire over Rob. Or else, the latter wasn't as good in teaching her because he knows he will be competing against her later on. I guess Elizabeth's competitive nature got the best of her in accepting the challenge because who in their right mind would accept going against someone who have started hundred of fires?!

So, why did she?

Oh my gosh, like the cast, haven't in a long time. It is NOT full of pretty people. Not to say they are ugly, just normal people and not super model and actor wannabes except for some of the younger guys.
So, so glad that an older female was not the first voted off.
So, so, glad that slimy Ronnie voted out. Seriously dude you would NEVER give a woman like Elaine the time of day and the fact you did and tried to be sympathetic was so FAKE.
Glad to see the ladies seem to have decent heads on their shoulders for a change.

Ronnie was pretty snakey when he was trying to "bond" with Elaine. I'm glad she saw through him. I have to say, I appreciate seeing normal body types and not a cast full of pretty people. Hopefully they cast for personality and not just looks. Amen to that! After the horror that was Big Brother it's great to see a cast of normal looking people. The diversity in ages, ethnicity and body types is refreshing.

So, why did she? Well...Rob gave her the basics like you need fuel, spark, & air plus the general instructions while Sandra gave her the more nitty gritty details like you need to make a bundle and concentrate the magnesium and to stay calm under pressure. On the show Elizabeth (the Olympian) said her competitive nature got the better of her.

I wonder how that will play out? It probably depends on who it is that goes. I was thinking the same thing. She should have just been honest. They're going to find out about the vote at tribal and wonder what else she isn't telling them. Yep, count me in on this. My first thought was that she should have just told the truth because sooner or later, most of them will be going there. Unless her plan is to get to the returnee first, and start to forge aliases with those folks. I don't know, but she can't hide it forever. I just keep my fingers crossed for her because I was super excited when I found out the Elizabeth Beisel (!!!!!!) was going to be on Survivor! During the Olympics, I'm rabid about the swimming events, and always loved her!

Count me in with those of you thinking it was a stupid lie about what happened on idol island. It sounded like every other week someone from her tribe would be going there. She's sure to be caught in that lie. She should have (mostly) been upfront with them about what happens there. Her lie could have been that she had a chance for an idol, but didn't want to take a chance against Boston Rob.

That was such a great premiere! I had nothing against Ronnie but I'm so glad he left over Vince and Elaine. One of my favorite moments of the episodes was watching Janet make the fire and perform well during the challenge. I often have found that its harder for the older castaways to do well in modern Survivor but as diverse as this group is I can tell this isn't going to be one of those seasons where your age prevents you from going to distance. Production really did well with casting such a diverse group of superfans this year.
The twist Did not bother me at all. I like how Elizabeth had to earn the idol rather than them just giving it to her and in the end she didn't earn an advantage but lost her vote, its like they made it harder to get an advantage and that's how it should be. I think if Ghost Island did this, or EOE i would have liked the concept of those seasons more, but all in all a very solid premiere and I'm excited to see what happens next.
I have a lot of early favorites this season so far: Elaine, Tommy, Molly, Lauren, Missy and many more
Even the tribe who didnt go to tribal council i feel like have a lot of solid players who can go far.
