Just watched Episode 13 Victim of Love again before deleting it from the DVR. Well, I gotta give Bayleigh applause for playing the victim. She is vicious and vindictive and she totally contradicted herself a couple of times but the rewriting of history is totally in her skillset. That she stated that Nany crafted Bayleigh not being voted into elimination and still not having her red skull. Claiming karma on Nany because Nany lost the elimination round and that evil people get what they deserve. Well Bayleigh you are planning a scorched earth campaign against Kaycee's relationship about her girlfriend and planing on telling everyone about her dirt, so I guess you are a good person and have the high moral ground. Sounds very immature and petty and vindictive.

Episode 14 - "Your Time Is Gonna Come" - July 1, 2020
Twelve players left 1 girl and 2 guys do not have Red Skulls. How many more challenges will their be and will their be a purge?
The challenge is in the middle of the night and called "Running Out of Time". Basically endurance and strength with some strategy thrown in. They use this one on Survivor also and it basically reveals everyone's alliances or any backstabbing.
This is one where Kaycee's advice from the previous episode comes in handy, "Do not make any promises you cannot keep". Poor Fessy got caught between Jenny as the wining female wanting Josh on the tribunal vs Fessy making a promise to both Josh and Cory. We all know Cory has a sore spot about promises considering his vendetta against Jenny the last couple of episodes.
It seems there is a bit of conspiracy by the guys to get rid of Aneesa because they are afraid of being partnered with her in a finale. I get that, but I still don't understand why the girls chose to help by eliminated Aneesa in the challenge. I would want Aneesa in a finale. One less person to worry about winning the competition. I fondly remembered one challenge when the all the males and females had turns with all of the other partners. Luv'ed it. I really thought that Aneesa would beat Bayleigh as it looked as if Bayleigh just didn't have any fight left in her. Even now I think Bayleigh will have a hard time in a finale. I don't think Aneesa was really all that broke up about getting eliminated.
I must admit it was fun watching Kyle beat Josh. As Johnny Bananas said that big goofball buckles under pressure.
Running Out of Time: Players must run to collect heavy material before returning to place it into an opponent's drum. After an unspecified time period, a horn sounds, indicating that players have five minutes to return and pick up their drum. Players who do not return in time are disqualified. The male and female to hold their drum up the longest wins.
Winners: Fessy & Jenny
Disqualified: Aneesa, Kyle & Nelson
Knots of War: Similar to "Knot So Fast" from Battle of the Seasons (2012) players have 15 minutes to create as many knots as they can using rope within a car. After those 15 minutes are up, players must untie their opponent's knots. The first player to untie all of their opponent's knots and bring the rope outside of the circle, wins.
Played by: Aneesa vs. Bayleigh, Josh vs. Kyle

Well in a rewatch of Episode 14 what got me is Cory's sense of entitlement, of what is owed him. In a game even if you have the power it needs to be a group decision you cannot always control the outcome of anything, to expect that is to court disappointment. Does Jenny owe Cory some favors. Probably, however she may not be in a position to honor a favor when Cory requests it because she may not be able to and it may not fit into her current strategy. I cringe everytime Cory claims he gave Jenny her Red Skull. Jenny won that Red Skull, it is not her fault that it was an easy elimination for her to win. I also cringe mightily every time Fessy throws Jenny under the bus for not putting Cory onto the Tribunal. Jenny did not make any promises to Cory on that count and owes him nothing. This angry to Jenny is ego driven. Cory wanted to have 5 wins this season and he did not get it. He could have competed against Fessy, but no it is all Jenny's fault.
I do like that Jenny was trying to make sure Josh and Kyle had a clear chance to go into elimination and get their Red Skulls without having to rely on a third party having a deciding vote. Cory needs to keep his ego in check. Jenny at least was thinking of the big picture and not being selfish.

Episode 15 - "Crash Into Me" - July 8, 2020
Maybe the title of the episode should have been "Nellie, whoa is me". It's kinda hard to take the veneer of Noble Nelson when he is so derogatory and dismissive to women.
Crash Course: Similar to bowling, one player begins in a stunt car and must crash the car into piles of barrels which other contestants are standing on. The male and female who knock down the most barrels win. In the event of a tie, the winner is determined by how far their barrels traveled.
Winners: Bananas & Kaycee
Most hysterical moment laughing on the floor rolling so hard over Kyle and Nelson's performance. A challenge where you point your car at barrels and simply had to drive fast and hit them and you miss.
Hall Brawl: Originally from Battle of the Seasons (2012). Players must run through a narrow hallway, past their opponent and ring a bell. The player who rings the bell first twice, wins. Played by: Dee vs. Jenny, Nelson vs. Rogan
Nellie had it both times, but he has never, ever played smart and that is what got him both times. Nelson does have heart, he is strong, but his lack of brains has always been his downfall.
Who is Dee? The way that MTV has totally changed the editing of the story due to someone saying "all lives matter" in a twitter post is ridiculous. Was this season becoming the Dee and Rogan drama? Yes. Was it too much? Yes. But something happened that was missed. Why were Rogan and Dee targeted to be in the last elimination challenge? Personally I would have thrown in Fessy. Why did Bananas not do that? There was some delicious strategy behind all this maneuvering and I hope they explain that in the reunion. It is obvious now that Dee was the girl that was to be the house vote. Jenny was never supposed to be thrown in. But who would have been the women picked to go against Dee if that had been the case? Dee was never given her final speech instead there are endless minutes of Cory and Nelson.
What strikes me as totally stupid is that Jenny was going to give Nelson and Cory a free ride out of elimination and they threw her under the bus for spitefulness and vindictiveness and ego. I think perhaps Rogan and Fessy would have been a great matchup instead again due to their stupidness, shortsightedness, Cory and Nelson put themselves in a situation where one is eliminated. I am sure Kailah was sitting at home laughing at Nelson and screaming at the TV screen "Karma is a bitch", when Nelson missed the barrels in the challenge, then got put into elimination, and then when it looked like he could have won both rounds in the hall brawl couldn't simply let go and ring the bell.
I am curious to see how well the women do in the finale. Jenny is a powerhouse, Melissa has heart and no quit, Kaycee I think will do well, Bayleigh hopefully bails. Still they are smaller then the guys and physically not as strong so I am all for equality but seriously making this an equal challenge against 6 footers like Fessy, Kyle, and the others. Oh, yeah this is so fair.
Surviving the challenge requires one skillset but completing a finale requires another skillset. The puzzles are going to kill folks like Kyle, Rogan, Cory. I don't think Bananas is that worried about the women. His biggest rival is Fessy at this point.

Cory Wharton - 3 finals - 0 wins Faysal "Fessy" Shafaat - 1 final Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio - 9 finals - 6 wins Kyle Christie - 2 finals - 0 wins Rogan O'Connor - 2 finals - 1 win
Bayleigh Dayton - 1 final Jennifer "Jenny" - 1 final Kaycee Clark - 1 final Melissa Reeves - 1 final
Wow, Johnny set himself up well. None of the girls have any experience in a final. Of the guys only Cory, Kyle, and Rogan do. You have a very experienced, sneaky veteran who has been in 9 finals working in teams and as an individual versus 5 people with no final experience and 3 contestants that have some experience. Cory wants it but he has shown he sucks at puzzles, Kyle sucks at puzzles, Rogan was in a final with a team. This should be fun.

Finally saw the preview for the finale as it got cut off last week.
Kinda surprised that there is a breakdown of the money as all season they have been talking as if there is only going to be one winner and that person will get it all. Per TJ there will be $500,000 for the men's first place position and $500,000 for the women's first place position. Nice to see it back to male and female as it can be hard to base the finale solely on males and females playing equally against each other.

Yeah, I am feeling you. As for the ladies as long as it is not Bayleigh don't really have a favorite. But it will be fun to watch. Johnny has run in two finales (that I can think off) featuring mountains and very cold weather that experience should come in helpful.

Been watching Challenge Champs vs Pros it aired on NBC sports channel. I totally luv the strategy used. It is amazing to see the champs get all indignant when the Stars use their strategy on them. Glorious.
What I really liked is how a good "bad food" challenge can turn the competition upside down.

Just cleaning out the DVR queue and giving a last watch on the last episode before the elimination.
I did enjoy watching the Crash Course challenge several times, wish the DVR could do frame by frame.
Thoughts: Well overall it was a decent episode but because of the entire lets totally edit Dee out as much as we can I do think elements that would have made this episode a 10 were eliminated. Its pretty obvious that Johnny's alliance had Dee and Rogan targeted as the house vote in the final elimination round. There is a certain point there are simply not enough choices to pick for elimination and you can only save so many people. The game is set up that way.
The vote for Rogan was simple, he didn't have the numbers and he kinda fell on his sword. I still would have luv'ed to have seen Fessy go in. In fact I would have luv'ed to have seen a Hall Brawl between Fessy and Rogan. My preference. I am very surprised Bananas honored his word not to send Fessy in. However I have seen folks totally dominate the game totally fall apart in the finale. cough, cough, cough, Paulie.
With Kyle and Bananas safe from elimination and the house vote, and Rogan being the house vote, the only two names left were Cory and Nelson. Now while these are strong guys I don't mind seeing either in an finale as both are weak in puzzles, can't do math, can't eat awful food. Nelson had been in a final but the Invasion of the Champions finale was not that hard compared to other seasons. I was cheering on Nelson in the Hall Brawl and to be honest in my opinion he actually was in the position to win both rounds easily he simply cannot use his brain and let go and run. It was so frustrating to yell at him to let go and watch Nelson just to hold on to Rogan.
I also think both Nelson and Cory are very short sighted in the strategy of the game letting their egos dictate that they get back at Jenny in the ladies house vote. Over and over and over again it should have been drummed in to every contestant by now, it is very, very, very hard to keep all the promises you have made as you cannot honor those promises to everyone at the same time and they get mad at you. Jordan and Tori vs Dee being a prime example. Jenny vs Cory another. I know that all the girls were set up to vote Dee in the house vote. With Jenny, Melissa, Bayleigh, and Fessy voting Dee, the assumption is that Rogan would take also vote Dee out as he has wanted to before and the rest would vote Dee as it was the easy vote. However which one of the girls would have been picked to go in against her? There was only Jenny, Melissa, and Bayleigh to pick from.

Season Finale Episode 16 - "It's the End of the World As We Know It" - July 15, 2020
Just finished watching it. I was putting it off for a while. I wanted all my recaps and rants out of the way. I wanted to really savor this moment. I was in tears by the last Bananas confessional. I have disliked/liked this person for many, many, many years. I hated his bullying, I hated the Triad of Bananas, Kenny, and Evan. I hated their dominance, bullying and total control of the game. I hated his total betrayal of Sarah Rice. I have acknowledged his ability to politically maneuver through the game. He thrives in the social disorder of any season and he knows how and has the ability to win a challenge. Johnny Bananas can strategize, can survive a challenge to get to the final, and he can win a final. Very few players have total skillset. Part of his dominance is that he recognized early that this is a good way to make a living and he totally capitalized on it. It took a lot longer for others to recognize that this can be a career. I have to honestly say that by the end of last episode I almost thought that this had been a total setup for Johnny. I really thought going into the finale this is his to lose. And Yes, I was rooting for him.

I didn't like Bayleigh's confessional stating she thought Melissa was only doing the finale for bragging rights. Who is Bayleigh? What has she done? She is N O T H I N G in the challenge world.
Oh poor Bayleigh hurt her leg, but it is amazing how she can still finish the climb to the compound.
Oh poor Bayleigh has to quit. Boo Hoo.

One of Bayleigh's confessionals states how she has to win this thing because although she and Swaggy are married they never had a ceremony because ceremonies are expensive. This is confusing as Swaggy claims to make $30,000 a month day trading and $2 million a year day trading. So now they are poor?

THANK YOU so much for continually posting on this thread!!! NOW about Bayleigh .... IMHO I think both her and Swaggy are full of nonsense. If Swaggy made that sort of money (as he has openly stated) he would have NEVER signed up for a Reality Show that took him away from a job that pays him so much money. And now they need money for a wedding ceremony????

Not unhappy that Cory didn't make it. Cory is pretty, charming, a player, and you can only get so far in life doing that. The Challenge, if you want to be successful pushes you in all your weak areas. Physically, and mentally. Cory is maturing slowly from one of the Young Guns to being able to get to a final and finish third.

Lots of speculation on line that the show was rigged for Johnny to win. That Jenny won the overall million dollar prize but MTV asked her to split it with Bananas.
I think is became a fairer game when TJ announced that there would be a first place prize for the men and women.
No way do I believe anyone who had won a million dollars would give that up and split it with the second place person. NO ONE could keep that a secret. The Challenge falls under FCC regulations and game rigging is a big No No.

It seems like there are several people that are jealous of Johnny. Haters will hate. Seriously there is so much going on the whole point of a reality show is the unscripted part. Do I think that contestants aren't manipulated by the producers? Of course they are. The thing is why bother rigging the game. These idiots get themselves into all kinds of trouble why direct them. The thing about these rumors is that many depend on one thing being rigged and viola this is going to happen. Do you really think with all that money on the line any of the contestants would not compete for it. They have better odds in the challenge then winning the lottery. The vets are so busy getting each other off that many rookies and inexperienced players have been getting into the finale. In a one to one elimination round Johnny is not that dominant however he does train to win a finale. He had a huge advantage being the most experienced person in that group of people. At this point it really was up to him to win or lose based on his capability. We have all seen players with more heart and stamina beat the overwhelming big contestants. I do think MTV does itself a big disservice by not airing the entire challenge as everyone commented on legs not shown. That sort of drives the premise that the finale was not as hard as other seasons or something underhanded happened. I would prefer a two hour finale or a two parter. I would luv to have seen the original episodes before they did all the reediting because they fired Dee. The entire putting Rogan and Dee into what they thought was the last elimination round would have been epic. I give Jenny props for her win, she states that she practices math and puzzles everyday in preparation for the season. Are you listening Cara Maria? I can't believe the non swimmers and non runners don't practice those skillsets as well as math and puzzles. But we see it every season. I do miss the days were they timed the legs and whoever got the best time won. I don't like the way MTV glosses over stuff like that. Johnny is not a favorite of mind but I was rooting for him to win this. I would have been OK with Jenny being the overall winner and taking the entire prize it would have been so funny to see a woman beat Bananas as he has been a bullying sexist idiot many times over the years. That actually would have been a fitting end with many Sarah Rice fans and others screaming Karma over that win.

Episode 17 - Reunion - July 22, 2020
Started watching the first bit of the reunion. Nany and Aneesa got into it. They filmed last year sometime between October and December it is 7 months later after the finale and they are still getting upset? Is this staged. Nany is 31 yrs old if she is drinking to blackout she had a major drinking problem.

Episode 18 - "Behind the Total Madness" - July 29, 2020
I guess some of this must have been filmed over a period of days as the backgrounds changed. Just more of the Kailah drama. It looks as if she cheated with Bear as a way to breakup with the boyfriend she had been living with for the last 4 years because she didn't want to embarrass him by telling him in front of a bunch of people. Someone told him and he found out while Kailah was still on the show.
That entire Zach and Jenna thing is just a mess. It is never ever explained what set Zach off. Which is incredible stupid. Jenna is apologizing for it. They are officially engaged and to be married in February 2021. Cory and other members of the cast are surprised. I don't think that they think the marriage will last or that Zach is the right person for Jenna.
The bunker was haunted by a ghost named Ed.
What I realized watching both the reunion and the behind the scenes is how pretty Jenny is and that she must have had something done to her lips which kinda looked off all season. It's tacky to call out anyone for their looks but seeing Jenny's real face she looks so much better that way. Please don't put stuff in your lips on future seasons.
I do think that the virtual reunion went well. It seemed smoother than the normal reunions and less fighting.
Now that I find out that Bayleigh and Swaggy have been married for two years and they have wedding bands. I just don't get why they have not raised the money to finance their wedding, after all according to Swaggy he should have earned nearly 4 million dollars by now.
I do think they did a huge disservice to the fans of the show by never discussing why Dee was kicked off the show. When Camilla had her meltdown it was discussed and folks chimed in on it. There have been other instances that also have been discussed so why totally ignore this one. I do think that the Dee and Rogan drama did overshadow other story lines but removing it and acting like it never existed does not do the series justice.
