Wow, this season is going to be fun! It's moving fast, and I love it.
I'm glad they didn't leave Natalie out there by herself longer than one night.
I don't know why they wouldn't vote out Sandra first. I do understand why not Rob. He's a beast in challenges. He was instrumental in getting the only point in the first challenge, and then was a big part of helping win the second one. You should always keep him around until the merge.
I'm not sure yet how I feel about the fire tokens. I think it will make it interesting. It's interesting how so far that plays into the social aspect of the game. I do wonder why Natalie chose Sandra to sell the immunity idol to.
I cracked up at Rob and Parvati asking each other if they were being punked and laughing about it. They should try to work together.
I don't remember Sophie at all, and barely Michelle. I didn't even watch Ethan's season, but I feel like I know him better. (Did he play again another time?)

I love both Rob and Parv so I'm glad they're working together. They'll be funny. It was obvious that both Rob and Amber couldn't stay in the game for long. Hopefully this will allow Rob to go longer. And maybe Amber can help him from Island of Extinction somehow.
I don't think Ethan played twice but he was on TAR with Jenna.

Ethan played on a Survivor: All Stars where he got eliminated in the 8th episode. As the winner of Survivor Africa he was targeted for most of the All Stars show.
It'll be interesting to see how the fire tokens play out. It creates an additional part of the social game. I also enjoyed seeing how quickly the single unattached players formed alliances on both tribes.

Here's my concern (because I am not a Romber fan)- No one in play knows how EoE works. They'll assume that having split up Amber and Rob, that Rob isn't nearly so much of a danger now. But Amber will be working hard at EoE to send as many advantages as possible to Rob from behind the scenes. Not right at all that Amber and Rob were both invited back. Was she the 10th woman? Were there no other female winners who wanted to play?
I think this season will be tedious. A weekly hour of angst.
Why am I surprised some of them have aged so much? Parvati can't flirt any more, not because she's a mom but because she just isn't as sexy now. Thrilled to see Ethan, but wow! Has it really been so long? Rob looks exactly the same to me (perhaps because we see so much of him), but boy, all that gray hair!

"Rob and his dad-bod"
I actually noticed how a few of them have gained weight. Nick and Rob jumped out to me the most. Is it because this cast is a bit older? Or because being all skinny and lean is not good when you're going to not have much food for a while. I remember an interview with Probst a while back where he said the young people that show up with buff and lean bodies are doing that because their ego wants to look hot on TV. But it's not a good game move.

That's part of the 'charm' of Sandra... she never gets over herself :D I'm curious to see how these fire tokens play out. So far, it has minimal effect. I like that the Edge of Extinction Island does something other than just wait for a chance to get back in.

Ben cottons on to Boston Rob, affirming that he can only play with idols. Wow, this season is going to be fun! It's moving fast, and I love it. I don't remember Sophie at all, and barely Michelle. I didn't even watch Ethan's season, but I feel like I know him better. (Did he play again another time?) He came back for All Stars, but didn’t make it very far, as the players were pretty gung ho on voting out the former winners.

Is it bad that when Natalie was voted off first I yelled at my TV ohh look like your sister, twinnies!
Last night is a great example of some of the stupidity when it comes to Boston Rob, who I have NEVER been a fan of, he has all the later contestants star struck when it comes to him. I personally would never be, he can be very intimidating in a covert way... maybe its his game play but it irritates me. I also never liked, and still do not like, Parvati (I know Jeff thinks shes the greatest to ever play the game but I don't see it) so her and The RobFather working together COULD get interesting as their egos collide. However both can go in the next two weeks and I would be fine, BUT there is the element of EoE and him being with Ambah there (BUT only one can come back he would have the best shot). It would be smart of them to send both out in the next couple weeks, as well as Sandra...
I love Ethan and am so glad he is back.. wow 16 years already!? I am glad hes doing well, health wise... he has been through so much. I am also loving Yul and loving that he is with Sandra. She may be a PITA at times but she is so honeybadger in her game play, to me she is the best to play this game. I have NO issues with her winning again.. but I can see where she would have the same issues with 'fans' of her as Rob has. Needless to say this will be an interesting season.
I have to say, i never thought that there were so many winners that I simply cannot recall (more I didn't think should have won or just did not like).
I know it has been 20 years but I recall each of the players that season but cannot recall when Sophie won or anyone from her season.. till I looked it up and saw who was there so beyond Cochran there wasn't much else redeeming. Same with Michelle, that was Caleb, Aubry, and Tai... so yeah she was meh to me, lol.

I am absolutely DEVASTATED that Natalie Anderson was the first person voted out, I mean DEVASTATED. I was really looking forward to seeing her play again SIGH. Like I get why they wanted to break up Jeremy and Natalie, but I don't know why production put them both on the same tribe to begin with. And while a Tyson blindside would have been nice I am glad that they at least had the sense to vote out Amber though I wish it was Rob. You just can't let a married couple get deep in this game. The MVP of this episode for me has to be Yul. He was brilliant. Realized he didnt have a lot of connections and knew he had to break up a potential trio, hes just so calm and cool and he is here to play! I felt so bad for Kim, it was just weird to see her vulnerable and on the bottom, like she even started to tear up. Sandra was like come here give me a hug. Speaking of Sandra she really is the queen. Sat outside the challenge and gave orders, got an idol from Natalie, and got revenge on Rob by voting out Amber. I was even impressed with Tony. He stayed calm and cool, stayed back at camp didnt run off looking for idols like he did in his prior seasons. Yeah so far I like this Tony 3.0 guy a lot and i hope he stays this way. Overall I find the Red Tribe a bit more interesting than the Blue Tribe. Im going to watch the episode again every Thursday this season because i was so overwhelmed last night and i know ive missed some interesting details.

Am I the only one who wondered whether there are any hidden immunity idols? Jeff doing his if-anyone-has-an-immunity-idol spiel at tribal council indicates to the players that there are idols but that still doesn't mean hidden on the main island because they might all originate from EofE. There may not be anything to find, and this group may make it very difficult for anyone to look much. If Sandra were to reveal to anyone that she has an idol, she really needs to keep her mouth shut about where it came from.

I'm looking forward to older players keeping up with the newer game.

I am glad the idol is only good for the first 3 tribal councils instead of the Final 5 because that would have been way too much power especially for just 1 fire Token

I couldn't get over how old Parvati looked. She's right that she can't play the flirt card anymore. Time to switch to the Mom card.
I was so excited to see Yul again. He's still as impressive as ever!
To me, Boston Rob is also a thrill to watch play. He is so smart about sizing up a situation and finding an advantage. His idea about throwing his teammates over the barrel obstacles was brilliant!
I also really like Tyson. On the firsts season he was on, I saw him as more of a villain but I still enjoyed him. Over the years, he's become more of a hero to me. I wouldn't be disappointed at all if he ended up winning this season.
Personally, if I was the contestants on the show, I would vote out Sandra first thing because she's already won twice. Boston Rob would also be high on the vote-off list because he's such a competitor.
There were many players that I'm still racking my brains trying to remember even though I know I watched the seasons they won. They apparently weren't very memorable winners.

I’m just thrilled to see Yul. He is my favorite winner and I never thought I would see him again. Every episode that he and Ethan will last will bring joy to me. I would love for them to somehow make it to the end.

There are three people I don't remember. It's just a reminder to me that the best person rarely wins Survivor because s/he'll be recognized as a threat and voted off.

The only person I don't remember...even though I watched every season...is Michelle. I have no idea who she is and who she was up against when she won. Clearly, she did not make a lasting impression.

Michele was in the Final 3 against Aubry and Tai Survivor Koah Rong in 2016. For years there has been a constant debate over her win as many fans felt that Aubry was more deserving of the title.

I'm in a Survivor pool at work and I drew Sophie and Michelle as my two names...and then I was like...who are heck are they? LOL. I've watched every single season and I don't remember either of them so I'm glad to read I'm not the only one!
I expected Boston Rob to be the first one out, but boy's got game! Like him or not (he's my favorite), it would have been sad to have him out first because watching him play is just good TV.

Because of her, they changed the format from Q&A to an open discussion with Jeff casually suggesting what the voting criteria should be.

Boston Rob is so aggressive in questioning people. It's like talking to a Mafia don! I don't blame Ben for folding. With Rob coming at me like that, I wouldn't be able to quickly respond with a lie that wouldn't be totally transparent.

Yeah as love Yul and Ethan. Really with Ethan fighting cancer and winning his battle twice. Love Dani too. But really wonder what will happen over Rob not seeing his wife on the other side?!

With the people who have been eliminated being able to do things that affect the ongoing game, it could be to Rob's advantage to have Amber on the island, but he doesn't know that yet. Once he figures that out, he's going to be all over figuring out who Natalie's been helping.

I felt very hesitant to watch this season as I don't like many of the winners or more that they won. So I waited until the last week of February and I started to watch.
Not bad.
Better than I expected.
I luv watching what strategy worked the winner in their season not work for them this time.
Liking the old school vs new school vibe. Amazing how relaxed Boston Rob and Parv are.
Amber seems out of her depth and she is too quiet but that is her personality.
Sandra needs to get over her angry at Rob, what does it matter in the long run?
