I wasn't sure I'd like it (Love is Blind), but I powered through the first bit and really got hooked. I watched the latest four episodes as soon as they released and now I'm annoyed that I didn't just wait until next week to watch the whole thing. There's only the finale left, so I'm eager to see who follows through and gets married. I'll have to check out Dating Around.
Is anyone else watching Love is Blind? I blew through the first five episodes and the next batch releases tomorrow. I'm totally hooked!
I just watched all of the episodes that are available right now. I did not think I would like it, but I was hooked after the first two shows. I can't wait to see who really gets married.
I know! I'm kicking myself for watching episodes before they were all available. Waiting for the finale is awful! I think there's one couple (the first to get engaged) who is almost a sure thing to get married, but I can see at least a few of the others not going through with it. Not being attracted to your spouse is probably a bad thing and one couple is, IMO, a mismatch in temperament....maybe a few of them are.
Amber gives me very psycho Wedding Crashers “Don’t ever leave me. Cause I'd find you!” vibes. I think she'll eventually just be TOO MUCH for her guy.
This is bananas! Those Bach couples fussing about having to keep a secret for a few months need to settle down!
Love Is Blind Couples Had to Keep 'Secret' Any Weddings for How Long?! By Matt Webb Mitovich / February 25 2020, 11:16 AM PST
Though Netflix’s Love Is Blind is in the pop culture zeitgeist at this moment, the unorthodox dating series was in fact taped quite some time ago. But as the popular wedding-day scripture reading (sorta) goes, “Love is patient, love is blind”…?
In the Netflix series, which premiered earlier this month and releases its finale on Thursday, Feb.27, would-be couples communicate for 10 days without ever seeing other. It is only once a sight-unseen marriage proposal takes place that the two parties get to lay eyes on each other, before spending the next 28 days deciding whether to actually tie the knot… or not.
Contestant Damian Powers, who proposed to someone on the series, recently shared with Refinery29 that production wrapped on the season back on November 15… of the year 2018. Meaning that while the friends and family who were involved in any Love Is Blind couple’s wedding revelry have been privy to the their newlywed status, the good news could not be “broadcast wide” to college chums, hairdressers, Instagram followers and the like until the relationship drama unfolded on Netflix this month — some 15 months later!
As Refinery29 notes, that is in stark contrast to ABC’s Bachelor franchise, which only has a production lead time of about three months.
Are you surprised to learn for how long Love Is Blind was in post-production? Or are you too fixated on the couples’ opaque metal wine glasses?
Yeah, momrek06, Jessica is kind of a hot mess. I think calling PETA is excessive, but maybe AA wouldn't be out of line. She's a sloppy drunk. That's not a great look at 20, but at 34? Embarrassing. Hopefully, she watched herself and learned something.
I've only seen the first batch. I'm glad the pansexual guy and his fiance broke up. His temper was scary. He needs to heal a lot of pain before he marries anyone. Is Jessica the one obsessed with Barnett and him not choosing her? I do think they are all Hollywood beautiful, so I guess looks aren't really an issue here.
Those of us who are hooked on this show are in good company!
From Shonda Rhimes' Twitter:
“When I saw there were only 3 episodes available of #loveisblindnetflix after I already got obsessed with Cameron/Lauren love? No lie, I thought: ‘So a show gets me addicted then makes me wait for new episodes only on Thursdays? Karma is a b#tch,’ ”
Anyone else follow Cameron on Instagram? He updates it quite often....
I'm not following any of the cast members on IG because my account is just for business, but I have been checking every day or two. I'm looking forward to seeing pics that were taken in the last year and a half that they couldn't post until now!
I re-watched the season and pretty much just ffwd to watch one couple's story. I did watch all of the first episode and paid more attention to the singles that we pretty much never saw again. They had (I think) thirty people and most of them got almost zero screen time.
Any opinions on how long we should wait to discuss the outcomes without spoiler tags? Our normal rule for broadcast series is that, as soon as it's aired on the east coast, it's not a spoiler, but streaming shows are different.
^^^^ Definitely I think his big mistake was to not come out to Diamond in the pods. It seemed like her issue was less his sexuality than that it felt like he was withholding the information. That's definitely something I would want to know before committing to someone. His temper was NOT a good look. I can understand that he was feeling vulnerable, but he wasn't listening to her.
It's kind of hard to NOT talk about the outcome, especially when Cameron and Lauren are doing so many interviews! Tonight, they were the bartenders on Watch Watch Happens Live! They mostly just stood behind the bar, but there was one little segment where Andy asked them some questions about the show. Since it's the same production company as MAFS, I think saying they're the Doug and Jamie of this series is appropriate.
The reunion special will be on Netflix's YouTube channel on Thursday. I hope that means after midnight rather than Thursday morning!
