They brought Alejandro in tonight, to talk to the contestants. He's obviously their "winner" from last season, isn't he?
Some of the girls tonight were too heavy on the runs; girls who impressed me last night weren't as impressive tonight.
The cute boy, Jeb, who did Rocket Man, was really good even though he looked so awkward up there.
Arthur Gunn was so good too! I love his voice, and I'm glad his arrangement worked, since the band couldn't help him and he had to do it alone. Lionel was in tears!
Oh man, all these kids who are singing their own songs when the judges specifically advised them not to!! Some did okay, but they are risking their big shot (makes me nervous).
Sophia and Sara weren't that good last night, and didn't do much for me tonight either. Sophia was just belting it out, it didn't sound like anything.
I like Kat's voice (singing voice, not so much her speaking voice). Too bad they broke up the duet, because her boyfriend is so cute! hahaha
I'm not as big on the music teacher (Boone?) as others online seem to be, and his comparison to their all-star Alejandro. He kinda bores me.
Poor JustSam, being sick at this performance, but she did a great job!! She has a presence, and seems to enjoy herself up there. Another Wow from Lionel.
Ooo, now we're getting a run of bad performances, off key, forgetting words, screeching! Yikes, they're really getting exposed here. Luke says they're tired, they can't sing, and they're pushing too hard.
His expressions are funny to watch; he's so obvious!
Makayla made it back from the hospital/doctor after her incident (seizure?) in time to perform, and her song brought Katy to tears. She has a pretty voice.
Dillon James is the cute boy with the longer hair who's sober now, and I like his voice. He sang an original song, and it wasn't bad. He's also got a presence on stage.
His duet partner Louis, is having a hard day, thinking of his friend who killed himself and whose birthday it would've been. He sounded good, and watching his parents bawl while listening to him brought me to tears too! So touching. I like his accent, too!
Had to laugh at all the people singing Whitney! Not sure they were all successful either....! The Diva girl from last night was one who chose that song, and she did well.
Her partner, Makayla, chose a Lizzo song and belted it out, but I didn't care for it. Katy even said it's the worse song she's done. She could still go through, though.
Margie and Jonny … hmmm. Not sure about these two. His apparent lack of energy and (sorry!) personality might fail him. She's got the energy, but her song was too slow and even though she sang it well, it was theatrical and lacking something.
I give this band a lot of credit for learning how to adapt to all these different singers. They sound good.
I read that they filmed in Hawaii at the end of January, so am assuming after that, the show stopped at the Top 20.
