I'm not sure, if I'll continue to watch DWTS..maybe I'll just record it. That's what I'm doing. I DVR it. This week I didn't watch until yesterday. I have to be ready to fast forward. Usually I'm doing other things while watching and only have my eyes on the TV the whole time they're dancing. I tried this week to not fast forward as much but it's difficult to get through it with Tyra. She makes it all about herself, which isn't what a good host of this show should do. I don't care if she's following them on Instagram, nor do I care what her comments are to them about that... let them talk. This week she was talking to one of them about missing their kids and took the opportunity to again make it about herself and how she's missing her mom and kid, then took time out to do a shout-out to them. When she's talking to the dancers that's supposed to be their time to shine, to get more votes; not for her to steal the limelight. I'm not sure how long it'll be worth it to me to watch this way. I nearly always vote. I haven't this season at all because I'm not watching it in time. I have chosen a couple of favorite dancers, Nev and Justina, so normally I would be voting. I don't know why they are breaking what wasn't broken before. Why run off your loyal viewers? I can't figure it out. I didn't know anything about either Nev or Justina before. They each make me happy when I watch them dance. One reason I've always enjoyed this show is finding new-to-me celebrities who I enjoy watching and rooting for. I like Derek as a judge. I have always liked Len but there's not a good way for him to be involved this season. Derek gives good constructive advice and encouragement at the same time. I like the added benefit that he brings having been a former pro on this show. The others know what the dancers need to fix, but he has good ideas for training celebs for improvement on this show. I imagine it has its own quirks and tricks that are slightly different than just teaching someone to dance.

I kind of enjoyed posting live( but with others) as nobody is posting just me, I'll just record it I guess. I didn't mind Tyra giving a shout out to her mum and son, shes always been very close to her mother.

There is a pattern which makes muting Tyra very easy:
a) the couple dances b) tyra asks for comments from the judges--- this often can be muted too ( lol) c) we see the scores come up on the screen so we can really hit mute now d) tyra asks banal questions -- mute stays on e) the couple leaves--mute stays on f) Tyra introduces the new couple so mute can be released when we get the new couple at rehersal. g) repeat as we have now established the rhythm.

I don't even bother with mute.. I ff everything but the dances at this point, I have 2 hours down to like 40 of actual watch time.

I do like what Derek has to say, especially the advice he gave Anne last week, I hope that helps her, she is quite fun, and eager to learn..

Wish my FF button worked. I guess I need a new cable remote control. I get around that by hitting the live button and backing up to where I want to watch. My MUTE button does work,, though.

It's too much trouble to ffwd and then try to stop at the right time and then rewind if I overshot. I just mute Tyra. Easy. Doesn't stop me from seeing her and really, WTF is up with her styling? The wardrobe is terrible, the hair is terrible and the makeup is terrible. Can you say "over contoured?"
My favorite thing about this show has always been finding out that someone you never expected to be a good dancer is actually pretty darned good. For me this season, that's Nev. I love watching him and Jenna. There are other dancers I like too, but Nev is my favorite surprise of the season.
Really, starting this week, none of the celebs were really bad. It's a pretty even field this year and it seems like no one is really solidly out ahead of everyone else. I mean, Shai did well this week, but she hasn't done consistently well. I like that's it's not totally obvious right now who'd going to the finale.

I agree that there are a lot of good dancers this season, which makes it enjoyable to watch them. (And since I just watch the dances on Hulu, it's even more enjoyable. )
