It’s always sad to see a likable team go, but these two are such great friends with a fun spirit. Sorry, we don’t have more of them.

I don’t like u turn either. Yield is challenging enough, especially in the beginning.

Remind me what the Yield is?? The team that was yielded must stop racing, just stand there, for a certain period of time. Don't remember exactly how much, though, I think it's anywhere between 10 to 30 minutes.

I forgot all about the premiere of TAR. Thank goodness for my DVR which was still set from the last time TAR was on. This looks like it’s going to be a good season. I like everyone except Michelle. I’m so glad Kellie finally got the drum challenge correct. As a fellow dyslexic I know how difficult numbers can be. I don’t have a favorite team yet, but so far, I really like the football players, the guys with the beards and the Olympians. They seem like great friends.

Whoa, stereotype much, Michelle? That was uncalled for, and she kept saying it! She said she learned to play piano too, and equated him learning to play piano since she had to as well. She said something like "Asian moms" meaning their mom was the same as the other team's mom with both moms making them learn. It was generalizing, but I didn't take it as bad since she was saying it as a shared experience. What I didn't care for was her bad attitude about coming in second. It was quite a contrast to the losers who were so gracious and thankful. I wish they'd gotten a chance to race further to be able to experience more of the world.

I took it that way as well, she was almost saying it in an understanding/knowing way.. I didn't take it as stereotyping or racist at all. I admit I like this team.. for now, yes the one is a bit much but I also understand the competitiveness. I will see how it progresses however. It also may have been, at least for me, I didn't care as much for the hubby on that team as I did the wife. I didn't like the way he spoke to her at times, not that it was mean but it had a firmness to it and she did not question it... like when she wanted to go back and look at the fish and he did not or when hes was telling her how to deal with the goat... just rubbed me wrong.
I like the models, the bearded volleyball dudes, (LOVE) the NFL buddies, and the blonde sisters.. I will learn their real team names at some point.
The rest I have no strong opinion on really except maybe the brother.sister team.. I REALLY like Aparna, but her brother maybe not so much.. he comes off rather negative to me and she is so much more positive maybe.. and shes cute as hell!
I am just happy the show is back in the end.. and it has far more likeable people on than that other CBS dumpster fire going on.

Thinking about it some more, I think she thought having taken piano lessons was a competitive edge over other teams, but then realized since he was also Asian she assumed he had to take lessons so there went her edge. I think that's what her irritation was, not only that she'd done poorly but that they might be on a level playing field if he'd also taken music lessons.
It's certainly not a stereotype I ever heard of. She said it like it was fact.

I am not often jealous of detours, but as soon as I heard the name of the detour I was all "steel drums??? This one would be mine!!!!" That looked like I'd have enjoyed it so much (having played various instruments in my time).

Thats weird. Normally when they tell them to keep racing no one gets eliminated I know. That was jarring to me as I don't think I've ever seen an actual elimination at a continuation. Usually it has acted as a reprieve for those who are last and they have to take on an extra task during the next segment. Because it was the first leg?
I loved the steel drum task...I could get into that one.

Everyone was having trouble keeping up and hanging on and the Olympian's goats got out lapped. It was great.

Several references to his race, so he probably learned piano, would be good at music, etc. Oh wow, that's pretty trashy of her. Michelle is Vietnamese, the other guy (Chee?) is Chinese, she made a comment something about Asians and that since he is Chinese of course he is good. How is that trashy? It will be good so see some Asian teams from different countries and what they say about each other and how they act as these are concepts they were raised with. It's the same thing when I traveled to the Caribbean a lot, the folks working most tourist areas were from off island and stated many times to me "how lazy the locals were". I could''t tell who was a local or who was off/another island. That being said, Michelle annoyed me with her horrible attitude about not winning the leg. The best strategy in this game is to never be the worst/last and make sure you win the final leg, who cares about the rest. There was some weird unfinished juju between Michelle and Victoria over one of the sisters being mom's favorite. Can't wait for that hot button to explode in the middle of the race. So glad to see this show again. Wished the team sent home was not eliminated they looked like fun and had a great attitude. I do have a pet peeve with this show casting professional athletes and Olympians as teams as it seemed so unfair to the regular people teams. I was rather hoping the NFL team would be eliminated.

I guess I'm not the only one who didn't realize that this was on. Makes me miss traveling but was great to see. OMG, I loved seeing those women sprinting! I find women who have strong fantastic thighs so attractive. So powerful.
Didn't mind that the friends who fished lost, I feel like I have seen that team before again and again. Banjo plays when they are on. But no favorites although the former NFL gentleman is very attractive.

But no favorites although the former NFL gentleman is very attractive. The biggest reason I wanted them to be able to stay over the NFL guys and Olympic girls is because both of those teams said they've traveled before. These guys really wanted the experience of traveling to places they can't afford to go. I didn't necessarily want them to win, just wanted them to go further in the game. I like both the NFL and Olympic teams just fine.
