You've got to remember, this is the same franchise that gave us Nick the Weasel as Bachelor. In fact, they brought the slime back at least 3 times. I never would have guessed that was possible either. Every time the new Bachelor or Bachelorette is about to be announced I cringe waiting. We've had a few losers re-upped to torture us. That's why I've skipped a number of seasons. Apparently Fleiss feels controversy & creeps is a good way to pick 'em.

The bottom of the barrel from every season (and sometimes MANY seasons past) come back to deliver more of what we dislike about each and every one of them....drama, sleaze, violence, obnoxiousness. A few innocent underdogs and broken-hearted souls are tossed in for good measure. What ever happened to "Bachelor Pad"? That was kind of the winterized version of BIP.

A lot of people found Corrine fun to watch on Nick's season. (I wasn't a huge fan, but I didn't hate her.) She would be a disaster as The Bachelorette, though. It would be like Kaitlin's season on steroids. I actually liked Kaitlyn, but I know a lot of you didn't, and I'm guessing you would hate Corinne even more as the lead. Just no!

I loathed Corrine, they spent too much time on her Kaitlyn was on a Canadian show, her lips are huge. She's really messing with her face. Her and Alf are still together, but nobody knows what they do good work..?

Remember Britt from Chris's season, who was then on the B'ette with Kaitlyn? She's on Say Yes to the Dress. Her fiancรฉ is really cute.

They were perfectly fine lips before. I just want to shake her and say, "Not everyone has big lips, Sweetie! It's OK to just be a pretty girl with thin lips." (I managed to go through life just fine with average-sized lips. It can be done.)

I've been thinking more about this since I wrote the last post. I really do wish all types of beauty were accepted all the time.
Following up on the Kaitlyn post, though, I'm going to talk about just White girls for a minute. When it comes to lips smaller lips were all the rage from the time of Clara Bow until Julia Roberts came along and changed things. I remember a friend in the early '80s who had gorgeous Julia Roberts lips, and she used to put cover-up on them and draw in much smaller lips. Now women are paying top dollar to get those same full lips.
I want a world where everybody gets to celebrate the features they've got!

A few innocent underdogs and broken-hearted souls are tossed in for good measure. What ever happened to "Bachelor Pad"? That was kind of the winterized version of BIP. Bachelor Pad was kind of the low rent sleazier version of BIP, if you can possibly imagine something more low rent & sleazy. Back at the beginning of BIP, it wasn't nearly as sleazy as it is now. In fact, it was kind of refreshing in that the show seemed to be making fun of the franchise & laughing at themselves. It made us feel we were laughing with them. It was fun to laugh at & see the contestants be a bit more real than the versions they presented of themselves on The Bachelor & The Bachelorette. Plus, it brought us Jorge the Bartender, a very likable & welcome addition. I understand he's being brought back full time this season. Another difference was that Bachelor Pad was done as a competition, for a winner & for money. That brought out the ugly & cruel sides of the contestants. There was a lot of very cutthroat, very hurtful, and mean behavior. In the end it got so bad that, in the last season, when the female who made it to the end was left hurt, angry, rejected, and in tears, most of us (me included) were left cheering for her pain. That's when the franchise pulled the plug on the show. They came up with BIP, and took out the financial aspect & the competition aspect, supposedly to refocus on "finding love" . Plus they made the location tropical & the dates more attractive, rather than just locking them up in a kind of big dorm complete with a "boom-boom room". These changes worked at first, until like everything in this franchise, TPTB decided that controversy & sleaze would draw viewers. That's when they started bringing in the lowest of the lowlife & egging on controversy. It's gotten progressively sleazier each season since. The decent people brought in get lost in the slime.

The newest top-dollar enhancement are those overbearing, overly dark, overly thick, large eyebrows. One thing I will say about Becca is how very naturally pretty she is. She was fresh faced and lovely during her date with Colton on the boat.

Great battle! They both did so well, but it looked like Nick and Wells were having a little TOO much fun back there!! Brian coming out of the hot tub was a surprise too, but Rachel really had the moves - hope she won. She's good! Thanks for sharing.

I saw on Carly's Twitter feed that former contestant Juelia Kinney got engaged to Carly's brother-in-law (Evan's brother). Apparently they met at Carly and Evan's wedding. Evan made some comment about the Bass men continuing to marry way out of their league.

Reality Steve recently posted a podcast interview with Vienna Girardi, the winner from Jake's season, and I found it super interesting. She actually seemed like a really cool person. I didn't know much about her, since I didn't watch Jake's season. All I had seen was that horrid televised break up. I really didn't like him at all on Jillian's season. He was, in my opinion, Luke 1.0 in terms of his controlling, self-righteous behavior. Seems I was right. Vienna used a lot of restraint in talking about it, but what we saw in the staged break up was just the tip of the iceberg. At the time of the "break up," she had already moved out of their shared apartment, because he was abusive and she was afraid to be alone with him. She really didn't want to even be in the same room with him to film the break up, but the powers that be made her. She also had a really sad thing happen a couple of years ago when she miscarried a set of twins at five months, and she talked very tenderly and openly about that experience. Here's a link if anyone is interested. realitysteve.com/2019/07/18/the-bachelorette-hannah-spoilers-podcast-139-vienna-girardi/

Back then, I watched the Breakup Special & felt both of them came off equally bad. Jake because he was controlling & demeaning & just mean, and Vienna because of her whining & crying for pity. I felt she was just trying to manipulate the audience with it. After listening to the podcast I changed my opinion. Apparently Jake was way worse than what we saw on TV, and Vienna's tears/crying were very genuine, caused by enduring his abusive behavior for months. I'm glad I listened to it. Vienna came across as you said "like a really cool person". A nice, normal, fun person put into a bad place by a phony man & once again, getting a bad edit. She looks very pretty in the dark hair in the picture too.

I agree with everything you said MissScarlet. She looks great with dark hair, which I assume is her natural color. People in the comments were saying they thought she'd had work done, but I think she just looks 10 years older (faces thin out a lot between early 20s and early 30s), and hair color changes how we look, too.
