I'm so happy I subscribed. I moved on to the new Design Star - Next Gen and who knew Allison Holker Boss was such a good Host? Next I watched the first episode of Rock the Block (an original)and favorite designers are competing in two people teams Ex: Nate and Jeremiah, Mike Holmes with Alison (he judged her last season and she came in second so she trusts him (probably reflecting on her Chicago problems)David Bromstad and another Design Star I don't recognize and two other judges from last season that I don't know. The first episode was the set up, they'll get started next episode - looks like one a week. Then I moved over to Food Network and am watching Season 8 of FN Star. This was where they set up three teams - Alton, Giada and Bobby. It also had my favorite Justin Warner in the mix. What Next???

I would say try the new Fixer Upper. I admit I was getting bored of her designs when they were on HGTV but she has really upped her game; I LOVED all of the new projects. The highlight was the episode where they helped this halfway house for young girls in the foster care system that was in transition; they had a big home and their goal (unlike those horrible people on Hometown who wanted Erin and Ben to do "everything cheaply") was to make the home less institutional and more of a comfortable spot for these young girls to live while they were in transition, they wanted the home to feel like an oasis in these girls often tumultuous lives. Personally, I think having a young lady on their staff who went through the system served them well decisionwise. Not only did they fund raise to afford to pay for the entire house renovated by Chip and Jo, Jo also went to her considerable connections and resources and got a lot of work and things donated to the home. The end result was absolutely beautiful and a safe space for these young girls.
Another good show is Bobby and Giada in Italy. They've always made a good team, and it's fun seeing them eat and drink their way through Italy.

I'm saving Bobby and Giada in Italy for when I really need a smile. I'll have to start watching Fixer Upper again.
Finished Season 8 of FNS and wish they had used that format again - the three teams led by Food network mentors. I especially loved Alton Brown in the role.

We signed up for Discovery + last week (with ads). Our Orby satellite service was unceremoniously shut down at the beginning of the month. They are out of business We watch the Discovery and Investigation Discovery programming the most. So far, we are loving it!

I'm currently dong an Ace of Cakes marathon from season 1 on the Food Network portion of the stream. I'm also streaming Battlebots on Discovery as I missed the last two seasons due to my messing around with deleting channels. I find, at the moment, I'm watching Discovery more than the other subscriptions I have.
Oh, the Oprah sit-downs (same place as the Harry/Megan) features Chip and Joanna. I think in the "original" section.

I’ve noticed that at least one one the networks (OWN) doesn’t carry current programming. It only has past seasons. Has anyone else noticed this?

I’ve noticed that at least one one the networks (OWN) doesn’t carry current programming. It only has past seasons. Has anyone else noticed this? That's how it was with pretty much every network on +. I think they got a lot of negative backlash, mine included, and I have noticed shows starting to creep back. They made a mistake taking already existing shows and putting the new episodes exclusively on +.

Design Star: Completely agree with the winner; they had a certain "something" (the camera loved them) plus I liked their final design and the story behind it.

I was very surprised to find ZERO episodes of Chopped available, even though they had a listing for it. But that could be because there are several seasons still available on Hulu for now -- although some of the episodes, like Chopped Junior, are behind an extra paywall there. It's not as bad as Peacock, which offers very little and has a stanky user interface on top of it. Disco+ does offer the full number of episodes for a lot of shows. If you love Duff Goldman (and I do), you are in luck, because it looks like everything he's ever been involved with is available...

OMG, you guys HAVE to watch Duff's Happy Funtime Show, it's a fabulous mess! I had some herbal refreshments and watched 3 episodes last night, and was squealing with laughter. The sloth and the crab puppets are shady as hell and Duff is fun. The show is also mildly educational. I think they made this show for kids to watch and like and for parents to get either stoned or have a nice drink and watch it late at night when you want to watch something light and colorful.

There is a new show on Discovery+. It is found in Originals. It is named Clipped and is hosted by Michael Urie (wasn't he on Queer Eye?) and judges include Martha Stewart and Chris Lambton and Fernando Wong. It is similar to the flower show filmed in England, but focusing on topiary. I hope it holds interest better than the flower show.

Michael Urie is an actor who gained his fame on Ugly Betty. He's currently on Younger. He's also a New Yorker who does a lot of theater. I can also brag that I spoke to him once or twice in the piano bars in the West Village. I'll definitely check out Clipped.

Almost every other commercial I see is for Discovery+ these days lol. I have it, but I mostly just use it to watch 1,000-lb Sisters or paranormal shows like Ghost Adventures Ghost Nation. Clipped sounds cool.

From the Original stack - the Voltaggio Brothers are running a competition show. From the number of contestants, it looks to run about six weeks. They each choose 8 young chefs and mentor them through challenges that are judged by established chefs. It's all right if you're up for another cooking competition.

The Magnolia Channel finally premiered and after looking at the programming and hosts I can definitely say that I am not the demographic this channel is looking for, which is fine. I'll watch Fixer Upper Welcome Home and a couple of other things on it but otherwise not interested.

Darnell from different Food Network shows and someone else is hosting this new "Tiny Kitchen" show which is very amusing. Tiny Kitchens first got their start in Asia, where you cook actual tiny meals in a small, functional dollhouse style kitchen as a hobby. It's both fascinating and fun.

The new Holiday programs are going to start 11/19 on Discover+, and the shows I'm really interested in is "Ben's Holiday Workshop" "My Lottery Dream House: Holiday Extravaganza" "House Hunters HoHoHo" and Molly Yeh's Hannukah show.

There is a really cute show that just premiered only on Discover+ for some obvious reasons. It's called High Design and it's about...what you might expect. . The 420-friendly host and helpers turn struggling dispensaries into knockout spaces with the power of design. It's a fun show that I hope gets picked up for next year.

I know I saw a thread or posts about this show, but I really need to post about how great The Julia Child Challenge is! The episodes are all down loaded so one can binge. Not only do you get Julia on B/W television spots, but it is hosted by Antonia LoFasso and the guest judges (rotating by episode) including Dorie Greenspan and Stephanie Boswell. Jacques Pepin also makes an appearance. Loved it!
